But the existence of the "you" that you believe in is so tenuous - Shin Megami Tensei/Persona General

I see. Thanks.

I was just wondering since this is basically the perfect crossover fuel.

P4 crossed with P5. The investigation team getting back together to stop and apprehend the Phantom Thieves. Persona vs. persona in the vein of stand battles. The Fool's War. The seekers of Justice vs. the Freedom fighters.

Well, we still need to know Persona 5 plot first before hatching the crossover, but it is really viable.

I am not so sure if this is the right thread to post my crossover idea on, but meh.

So, my idea is a Shin Megami Tensei X The World God Only Knows crossover in an AU of TWGOK, where things went south, and Vintage, including Satyr; succeeded in their goal of capturing/enslaving the Jupiter sisters. After breaking the seal on old hell, many demons (SMGT series) managed to break free, and flooded the human world, attacking many human settlements/cities, and killed most of the humans in the area where Katsuragi Keima lived. Katsuragi Keima survived, but, fueled by anger and frustration that he was not able to get the good ending, after seeing all of his human/demon friends (Chihiro, Kanon, Elsie, Ayumi, mom, and etc) being killed/enslaved by Vintage, he finally snaps, and takes out his anger and frustration by ripping apart an attacking old hell demon .

From there, after agreeing to be recruited by a major demon hunting organization(Nicea, I think it was called), and getting a Device that allows him to summon demons after his training, he then works to clear out the old hell demon's, and tries to find a way to regain back the good ending, and get back the goddesses that were enslaved by vintage.( There could be a time travel arc so that these events for K.K. so that he could make sure that these events never have happened, but, I am not so sure on how that could work out.)

I am currently trying to figure out a major demon that could be compatible for him. And I narrowed it down from the entirety of the Shinto faction to Amaterasu, Nurahiyon, Susanoo,Orochi, and Tamamo no mae. Can you guys help me out with choosing a demon suitable for him from this list? Thanks!

Wait, its keima, so probably Susanoo?

And it might be better to post it in the creative discussion.

From what we can see, P5 has to deal with seeking freedom from oppression based on the society in place in the Tokyo Tri City area, and that several adults in position of power have their hearts locked and/or corrupted, which is why we see their monstrous representations seen in boss fights. It's a more complex method of saying "adults are bad waaawaaawaaah" but it's better than most.

Whereas in P4 it's about seeking justice and learning to accept your inner self, warts and all. And bonding with many people across town as you open up. Joker(P5's protag) doesn't look nearly as social or as open as Yu. More charismatic yes, but not as willing to make friends based on what I have seen.

This scenario is ripe for a clash with the older P4 cast against the young guns of the Phantom Thieves. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the P4 cast returns at some point in P5. Or some of P3's potentially.

From what I've heard from spoilers, there's no mention of P3/4 characters beside occasional references(P4's cast is apparently on TV like P1/2's was in P3, Rise is apparently doing a concert with a former Velvet Room resident, Futaba has apparently encountered Fuuka on the internet, and of course Goro is noted as the "second Detective Prince".)

It better be Elizabeth. I swear to god it better be Elizabeth and not Marie. Please.

Also, any word on Mitsuru's organization and then trying to save Minato?

...

That would be a good Tri crossover... investigation team against Phantom Thieves while Aigis and Mitsuru and the gang continue to find ways to save Minato...

Neither. I'm informed it's one of the Residents from way back in P1 and/or P2.

Pretty sure Marie sticks with Inaba post-P4, in any case. She'll probably only turn up if the Persona 5 Arena some people from the P4A team want to make happens to take place in Inaba.

Does it involve Ann

I hope it does. She and Sakura are amongst my Baes
It does. It mainly features her and Makoto. The translation isn't fully finished yet, 38 pages out of 52 done, though main part is done and only the extras with some other characters not done yet.

At least it's better than that shitty Patreon comic one. I'm still astonished by the speed though. Not even Touhou was ever this fast.

Welcome to the information age.

Been catching some videos of SMT4 on Youtube, and I think that I'm roughly halfway through the game by now; I'm liking what I see so far. It's surprising what not having absolute assholes for companions in a MegaTen game can do for your appreciation of its story.

I'm probably going to get Final and play it through after I'm done watching 4. Is it a good continuation of the franchise?

It's kind of an alternate route for the Neutral route. It's definitely worth a try, I'd say.

As far as gameplay goes, they fixed the Strength/Dexterity problem, so Strength is actually useful now.

Final is a better game mechanically than SMTIV, and the central premise is pretty fucking sweet, but the overall execution is such a sloppy mess that it's probably my least favorite Megaten, honestly.

It's worth a playthrough if you like SMTIV, but don't go in expecting a masterpiece.

A mechanical improvement over 4. Story-wise? Terribly executed and it makes me miss Cozy Okada and Kazuma Kaneko.

In case anyone's been thinking of replaying Nocturne, someone on the Gamefaqs Nocturne board by the name of zombero has finished a complete rebalancing of Nocturne, and while much of the hack is about making the game harder, there's also a ton of quality-of-life features too, like saner skill transfer and mutation criteria.

Anyways, here's the link for the RHDN page that has download links and a full description, and here's a couple of (admittedly older) gameplay videos.
