I know how you feel, I am running a quest right now and there is very little discussion.:(

Also, thinking back to the interlude, I am guessing that Azula will eventually simulate the bending of other elements, in addition to water. (Because of the avatar thing)

Getting Stalin vibes from this...
Eh, dictators with a personality cult around them? Europe alone offers them a dime a dozen.
Off the top of my head: Mussolini, Atatürk, Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Tito, Franco, Ulbricht, Honecker, Ceaucescu, Horti, Lukaschenko and the list goes on for Europe.

Still, a very nice chapter, the Cult of Fishzula and the Inquisition are but two cornerstones of Fishzula's Empire

Ahhh... Fishy's almost leading Azula around by a leash. Azula seems to be getting impatient, will she snap?

I'm also getting the feeling that Fishzula is jumping the techno/cultural tree, skipping "Ironclad-disctatorship" with "World(s)-spanning Mega Corporation".

Why conquer, when you can just own everything?

Pax Morporkia?

Terry Pratchett said:
"When dragons belch and hippos flee

My thoughts, Ankh-Morpork, are of thee

Let others boast of martial dash

For we have boldly fought with cash

We own all your helmets, we own all your shoes

We own all your generals - touch us and you'll lose.

Morporkia! Morporkia!

Morporkia owns the day!

We can rule you wholesale

Touch us and you'll pay.

We bankrupt all invaders, we sell them souvenirs

We ner ner ner ner ner, hner ner hner by the ears

Er hner we ner ner ner ner ner

Ner ner her ner ner ner hner the ner

Er ner ner hner ner, nher hner ner ner (etc.)

Ner hner ner, your gleaming swords

We mortgaged to the hilt

Morporkia! Morporkia! Hner ner ner ner ner ner

We can rule you wholesale

Credit where it's due.

As someone touched on last chapter, I'm impressed about how you managed to excite me over an oak tree. Also, I want a Ty Lee just like that one. World domination continues apace, of course.

Thanks, some people told me that I was rambling too much on the oak tree stuff, but I think I'll be going back to that point eventually... it's a sorta multi-chapter build up, right?

I am amused at the self agrandization. But what I am more amused by is that Fishzula is perfectly cognezant of it. What I really am curious about however is how her more traditionally Azusa protion feels about the phrase absolute power corrupts absolutely, and what her plans for a multi-generational governance legacy is.

Does she hope she can keep competance in the seat of absolute power or does she have another plan?

A respectable goal, but likely impossible.

As I recall, in LoK Unalaq seemed to think he could pull it off by merging with Vatu so he could rule over 10000 years of Darkness. So, I think the path is pretty clear for Fishzula: free Vatu and turn into a glowing purple giant with chest lasers so she can rule the world. Its the most logical course of action.

A respectable goal, but likely impossible.
Where should I start?

  • Turning into a spirit or being enhanced by a spirit. The Moon revived the dead by offering Yu a piece of itself.
  • Self-water bending or the heat-bending equivalent to manipulate the body and keep it alive.
  • Body-hopping via the spirit world, though this may take away bending.
  • Energy-bending. It's unexplored, but has a lot to do with souls. It will help with the other options.

She could also try to find how the original Avatar came to be and try and turn herself into a pseudo Avatar of fire or something, and ensure the continuation of her work using reincarnation as a medium. She even have a soul stuck on her head already so she is halfway there, it is even funnier if you consider all the jokes about her been the Avatar.
