Bulwark Against The Terror (Warhammer 40k Chapter Master Quest)

My target choices were one boring but necessary (Mountains), one hard target Space Marines are best suited for (Jungles) and one target that may get us loot and bennies (Debris Field). We could do Mines too, but I don't want to stretch us too thin. At the very least, we should be reducing the Orks numbers with my plan, which may pay off long term.

Assuming no one minds, I'm going to assign a couple Apothecaries to the dangerous missions. Honestly just forgot, there are a lot of moving parts to this vote.

@Blackout quick question can we sign one of the cruisers or the frigates as orbital support for these subjugation missions? If we say we sign up frigates for orbital support they don't cost any FC?
You can assign ships to fire support if you'd like, ideally at least a Strike Cruiser. Escorts are generally not designed to be great at orbital bombardment, at least if you want a degree of precision. And I assume you do, since you're firing at your own homeworld.

Now that's an achievement...
N'Varr is a Salamander officer. He might not be a Techmarine, but he knows a thing or two about forging.

You've got some FC unused there. You're only using 400 FC out of 950, even after assigning three Techmarines to the Companies.

Same with this one, you're only using 800 out of 1025 Forge Capacity available.

Yes, but we're talking what's effectively lostech.
Here we run into the issue of inconsistency in 40k Lore. Some sources have them be lostech, others have them only a little less abundant as plasma pistols. I tend towards the latter, and they're included in your wargear construction list.

Sure they're rare as hell in the wider Imperium, but you're Space Marines. And Salamanders at that. If you forgot how to build melta pistols Vulkan would return just to give you a smack 'round the ears.

Is there a list of the gear we got from our choice of Masterwork Focus somewhere? Presumably that needs to be assigned to companies.

[x] Plan Stoking the Flames

Hopefully we can do the mines next, because I'd hope to see Armageddon rebuild faster. Perhaps they can help us.

Okay, after agonizing over it a lot, I switched Mountains for Mines as a target in Stoking the Flames. I still want to go after the Jungles and Debris, among a few other differences between my plan and Critical Infrastructure.

I kind of hate switching a plan when a lot of other people have voted for it, so I hope people are okay with it. If not, I apologize!

[X] Plan Critical Infrastructure

Ignoring the Oceans feels like a mistake. Imagine how quickly a Hive City turns into (more of) a hellscape without fuel and fresh water?

I added a Thunderhawk to my plan and removed 5 heavy Bolter so it uses all the FC now.

My Problem with the Jungel is that i first want to have more heavy flamers especially if there is the possibility of Kommandos being on the planet.

That's fair! I have similar concerns about the Oceans - namely that defending against submarine attacks doesn't seem like a great role for Space Marines. I'm sure we'd be reasonably competent at it, but it also seems like something the PDF could do. Meanwhile, the Jungles are called out as something we're well suited for.
