As stated above, it took three days of intense training, but... Ichigo was about three months? Or so, into his career as a soul reaper at that point.

Two months if we're only counting his use of his 'own' powers instead of Rukia's.

Shikai, however, took even less time than that. I want to say it was two or so days of solid training after being dumped into Urahara's hollow-pit in the basement.

If we stay with Kukaku and we're running off Ichigo being Ichigo (bullshit), then we're looking at maybe... a week? Max, before Ichigo has a breakthrough.
 
I should point out that, since Ichigo has an Asuchi, his Shikai should resemble the one he got at the end of bleach, rather than his original.

Than again, probably be different 'still' if Quincy Zangetsu is still suppressing his other half.

Once a week would make more sense for a normal student, but Ichigo is definitely bullheaded enough that this option feels right. Besides given he excels under pressure doing it in one go would probably get it done faster than once a week and we're going for getting shit done right quick.

And we've been told we can skip classes as long as it doesn't interfere with our studies.

So we're doing intense zanjutsu training.

I'm cringing at the ramifications, but this is Ichigo we are talking about.

And honestly the only thing I tend to be in complete agreement with him is about his sisters, and being bullheaded about siblings safety so...

Let's be reckless.
