OK my fellow Gin friends, it seems we are out numbered. But if we throw our lot with the Takako voters then we have a chance to beat out shelving the issue. Which is a big problem for Ichigo. It's pretty much his biggest character flaw and part of what makes both Zangetsu so sad/pissed at him. Ichigo needs to work on that shit even more now. Enabling him through the fourth wall is not ideal at all.

Rain bad. Sads is bad. For the purpose of not just burying the issue I will switch my vote the Takako and implore voters to do the same. Or fun booze lady times but they have less than Takako.

[X] You need to talk to somebody about this.
-[X] Takako might know somebody appropriate.

Strategic voting, ho!

Now, while you have a point about that being a big problem with Ichigo, this is a dangerous secret to share. It paints a target on not just Isshin, but Yuzu and Karin, probably even Ichigo himself (especially if they find out the particulars of his origins, which isn't unlikely if they actually do any real digging).

I guess what it boils down to is: exactly how much are we actually telling Takako?

-[] Takako might know somebody appropriate.
-giant fists. Two... giant fists. The evidence that the Shibas are related to your father is mounting.

-[] Somebody from the tenth division.
-"Captain! We have to have him." The woman turns around, only for you to squeeze out of her headlock
Neither of these really tell us how much were saying, but. . .
-[] Maybe that captain, Gin?
-"but the human world?" Gin pauses, and his smile seems to grow. "Maybe we should keep this between
This heavily implies that we're telling people that Isshin is breaking the law. And that sucks.

At least with burying the issue, we're keeping our head down and our family relatively safe.

Honestly I want Ichigo to talk to someone, lone heroing is somewhat boring. And Ichigo doesn't know what he doesn't know. Let's fix that

Nobody is advocating for lone heroing. Just for keeping extremely dangerous secrets secret.

As for what Ichigo does or doesn't know:
But what draws your attention back to the list of laws is a short one slid right in the middle of the pack. No soul reaper shall stay longer than authorized in the human world.
He knows that you need authorization to go to the human world. He also knows that Isshin has been there for Ichigo's entire life for what appears to be personal reasons rather than professional. He may not know for certain that Isshin is there unauthorized, but it's certainly shady as fuck and not worth the risk. Especially not when Ichigo's end goal is to see his family, at which point he can ask the man himself.

I really don't mean to sound like I'm fearmongering, but this is dangerous information. For Ichigo, and more importantly, for his whole family.

Aaah, you have a good point. But I do want to give Ichigo some credit and don't think he'd be the time to spill EVERYTHING. Gin is a sly and smarmy little shit, part of why i like him, so I took that as Gin having gotten more out of Ichigo than Ichigo may have been aiming for.

And Takako seems like an intelligent young lady herself. She's absolutely building herself a nice cache of friendship and favor with Ichigo since he's a great investment. I admire this quality. So I don't think she'd squeal, especially not when her vote results in a family reunion.

I could be totally wrong on Takako and her character but I'm growing fond of her and see her this way so far.

It's kind of Gin's thing to weasel out what you intended not to tell. Not really indicative.

Lousy tactical voting time.

I suppose it's not impossible. . . you know, provided there's some horrifically catastrophic event that renders Ichigo the last Shinigami in Soul Society (with the possible exception of the 11th division; then again, if something wiped out everybody, they were probably the first to go).:p
No he just needs to beat the shit out of Mayuri infron his whole squad (including his cute robot daughteru)

I like Gin.
Nuuu stay strong, don't fall off the wagon! :p

Meh I'd rather do something entertaining, did you even look at the previews? It's fine.

That cute robot daughteru is his opposite sex clone iirc, and puts us in close proximity to Mayuri and his science extravaganza of God why. Noooo thank you!

Hmm entertaining versus sensible, normaly I would go with sensible (and I did), but I'll change my vote in this case:

Talking to other people is good for our long-term mental health.

My concern with going to Takako is mostly that we don't really know her, nor her us. She doesn't have that much investment in us and our and our family's safety compared to the rules of Soul Society. Even Mastumoto and Hitsugaya if we go to the tenth are at least close enough to Isshin they'd actively wish for him to avoid harm.

Can we trust her with our family's safety?

From the looks of it she isn't rule obsessed, and neither is Ranny either. My memory of the applicable arcs has lessened but there were some rather stressful circumstances going on in canon. I'm not saying we should shout from the heavens our odd possible origins though.

I do know that fanon likes to take the bad parts of SS and ruuuuun with them. In the end, they gave Ichigo back his powers.

From my hazy memories of the terrible Vandenreich arc, it had something of a justification for why (despite his general idiocy, and being a terrible match for the 2nd squad) Marechiyo was the 2nd seat. And that was information and connections. He isn't remotely stealthy, he's dumb as a rock and he wouldn't know intrigue if it beat him over the head, but he knows people. The impression I got of the Omaedas was that whilst they're a noble clan, they're kind of a 'new money' clan, and their strength is the relationships they cultivate.

Ichigo is a fantastic connection to cultivate. He's spiritually strong, decently intelligent, and has the drive to succeed and become exceptional. Moreover his ambition and drive is a safe variant. Someone who is desperate to become a captain, or to research secret things could be a danger to society. But the thing driving Ichigo is just checking on his living family. It's a good source of drive, but also a mundane one, he'll play by Soul Society's rules since they allow him his ambition without breaking them.

The Shiba thing is just icing on the cake, since it means he's technically a trueborn child of a shinigami, meaning greater potential.

Yeah. Telling on Ichigo would only ever be a total loss for Takako and even her family.

Brief thoughts on Takako: Do keep in mind that what we tell her might end getting filtered up to the 2nd Division Lieutenant, which might be less generous in keeping to himself, and for all that he looks and acts like an incompetent buffoon, at least some of it is deliberately misdirection to make people underestimate him (and it works too, incredibly well, both in and out of universe).

I have realized that I'm slowly adopting Takako as a daughteru. Send help. She's so good at scheming that the fourth wall has broken, and she captured my heart!
