Bleach: Derailed

I feel kind of bad hoping for blowing off Rukia and Kukaku again, but then continuing to avoid a Captain's invitation would also be pretty improper.

Here's hoping there's not something that draws us off from visiting next update. In the meanwhile, time to start working on being the first Shinigami to ever achieve Bankai before graduation:tongue:

[x] Keep him in shikai
[X] Maybe Gin can help with getting bankai

Fuck it. Metaknowledge is the only the omly reason not to ask for help from the only Bankai user we know.

Worse case Gin f*cks us in a way that f*cks with Aizen. Thus no negative.

Uh I'm not sure if you know this but the vote has already been called

Well, there's also the fact that the other options only last for a few more weeks, and we've already put them off once. Gin isn't going anywhere, at least as far as we know.

that"
"My zanpakuto is being unreasonable about the size it should be. It's the only way it will accept a decent size."
A strange sound emits from Gin. You realize that he's laughing.
"You... You really are serious. I can't wait to tell the others," he says and walks away.
Just imagine if we had gotten back to ichigo's family by now.

"Dad, how the hell do I get bankai?"

"Why do you need bankai? You're still in the academy."

"My sword's too damn big, and it refuses to be smaller."

"Well son, I knew we would have this conversation eventually. I just never imagined it would be so soon."

[X] Keep him unreleased.
[X] Accept Komura's invitation to meet.

Meet the guy who has one of the coolest Bankai? Yes.

It's ok, dude. I was taking the piss on you.
Besides, Rule Of Cool is a tough concept to understand. :V
The problem is: whenever I think of Komamura's Bankai, my first thought isn't "Cool Giant Not-Robot Samurai", it's "that's just a giant weak point; why does he even?".

It's a really distracting weakness.

I always saw the weak point as a non issue for the fact that if they can trade blows with the giant armor then fighting normally was pointless anyway.

If they can take on the giant samurai without getting blasted away, they were going to toast dog-captain anyways. If they weren't, them he crushes them with a stupidly huge and terrifyingly fast physics equation.

Worse Bankai was Ichigos, literally nothing more then a basic power up with zero interesting things going for it.

Yeah, I hope that TPK either adds more to it or, if he doesn't, at least remembers it more. With Ichigo's Bankai in canon it was as if one time it gave him incredible speed, and then did nothing for the rest of show.

Mind getting an energy blast flinging sword is pretty gnarly for a Shikai.

IIRC, that was because Ichigo's body couldn't handle the speed. Even during the Byakuya fight, he wasn't moving super fast the whole time.

And wasn't his "True Bankai" at the end of the series basically just Zangetsu in a sheath?

Yes and no. We never actually saw what it could do, because it got broken twice before it could actually do anything more than be used as a sword...which was one hell of an anticlimax, after all the work he did to obtain it.

I can't even blame Kubo, considering the last arc was forced to end extremely prematurely by the publishers.
