Bleach: Derailed

Wait, sorry, I remember Rukia being secretely lieutenant tier? Is that accurate, and if so are we really past that already?

She's definitely at Lieutenant+ ability at the end of the canon series, having unlocked Bankai. That's about 2-3 years from the current in-quest date, so she may not be there yet, but she's probably not a total scrub, either.

A fight for Zangetsu. You guys are so big on making him happy, so why not give him this chance?

[X] just swallow your pride, and leave

Pride is the trigger word.

We do have a friend to escort back safely.....lets try to be a little bit responsible. We can always have a rematch when we don't have a friend relying on us

I doubt she is now. It's a year before canon and she became it after the time skip.
She's not Ichigo. Ichigo's growth rate is ABSURD.

However, let me give you a little something and put this in perspective for you:
- Approx. 150 years before Canon. Rukia and Hisana die.
- >55 years before Canon. Hisana marries Byakuya
- 50 years before Canon Hisana dies of disease.
- 49 years before Canon. Rukia is adopted into the Kuchiki and immediately becomes a member of the 13th Division

49 (48 for this Quest) years of training, missions, and hard work. And you're saying that she doesn't have shikai when it's canon that she could have been a Seated Officer had it not been for her brother's protectiveness?

Look, I get it, you don't like Rukia, too bad though, facts are facts. She is stronger than you think she is and if I can get past my distaste of Mayuri and Tousen to acknowledge their capabilities, then you have no excuse to let your personal feelings get in the way of facing facts.

Last Note: Also, Renji more or less had the same amount of time to do training and everything, and he made VC in the April of the Canon start year. However, it was shown that Rukia was a prodigy compared to him.

Here's Ichigo's rate of growth for those interested.
- Middle of May. Ichigo becomes shinigami.
- June 19th. Ichigo loses his powers, having being defeated by Byakuya.
- July 21-31st. Ichigo begins training under Urahara. Regains shinigami powers and achieves Shikai.
- August 1st. Arrives in Soul Society. Eight days early due to dangai shenanigans.
- August 3rd. Ichigo vs. Ikkaku.
- August 4th. Ichigo vs. Renji.
- August 5th. Ichigo vs. Kenpachi. Starts Bankai training. Begins to master the Shunpo.
- August 6th. Ichigo vs. Byakuya. Ichigo achieved Bankai and mastered the Shunpo according to Byakuya.

In the space of less than a month, Ichigo achieves Captain Level capabilities. Using him as a measuring stick for any other shinigami's rate of growth is just not...it's completely unbalanced.

Rukia canonically has her Shikai by then anyway. Like, seriously, it's canon. Kaien flashbacks during the duel with his Espada counterpart. And the comments of said Espada.

Also, I hope helping Bestie continues to make a comeback.

...fricken autocorrect

...I meant being Vice Captain level. Not having Shikai.

Also, everyone grew much stronger from the time skip I've heard.

Without further evidence, that particular bit can never be fully answered, but there's a small bit of evidence that I have for you here:

She is not someone to be dismissed out of hand.

That's debatable. Some things hint at it, others don't.

And ninja'ed. Was replying to the Shikai-PTSD thing

Really would it kill people to vote to be a good friend to Takako instead of beating Rukia in a spar (or a drinking contest, but if it's a choice between the two I'll go with drinking instead of leaving Takako)?

Yes, because people ship Ichigo with the bitch to much and are hoping for smutty times if they drink to much. I vote for the fight purely due to drinking has such a huge lead over being a good friend.

I mean, how does walking away signify we are being a good friend to Takako? For all we know, that choice has the interaction end and become the next day?

...first, was the anti-Rukia thing really necessary? Like, goddamn.

Second, we already see from the preview that walking away shows us interacting with Bestie. And that she's telling us how she feels overshadowed by us. Good character piece potential. That probably won't happen again anytime soon.
