Best In Life - Imperial Knight Order Quest [Warhammer Fantasy]

But seriously I don't have the time to reread this atm. Can someone who does give me a quick rundown of what the quest did up to this update?

We led our knights in battle, our knights were massive cowards, and now we're training them to not be massive cowards. Also we have a runefang. That's about it.
Also there's a Marquis who hates us, wants to beat and marry us cause we killed his predecessor in a duel and there's a very yandere vampire who wants to vamp us/marry us/chase us in battle so he can get a battle hard on for all eternity as I recall.

[X] Go to the Cults. Preserving the Empire nd fighting the dark things of the world are precisely what Sigmar and Ulric preach.

I know magic and/or gunpowder are usually more popular choices, but I'm trying to go for something maybe a little more thematically appropriate. More Reiksguard would be fine too.

Also, yay, it's back!

[x] Go to the Imperial College of Engineering. None but the Dwarfs can match the firepower that the College can bring to bear.

The Reikland is vulnerable right now. Your darling Karlchen has taken the majority of the Reiksguard and the State Troopers with him to deal with the orcs rampaging throughout Wissenland, and while you don't know how much of the Colleges and the Cults march with him you suspect most of them are not available. As princess of Reikland you are an authority and more than capable of raising the army, and your mettle is proven, but it will be the first true test of your career as a Grandmaster Knight.
Considering this, I'd say our best bet is numbers, if only to pad out our forces.
[X] Go to Altdorf. Muster as many State Troops as you can, for you will need good Imperial steel.

Let's show the dark powers the Faith of the Empire! Mostly choosing this since I haven't seen a good showing by the Warhammer Churches in the various quests in a while so I feel it will be fun to see here.

I think what we need to be thinking of is what type of forces each would provide, and how good they would be for fighting beastmen in a forest (which seems to be pretty likely),
to be honest I am inclide against going to the knights and engineers, but can see arguments for every other group

The first part of that sentence says he took the majority of the State Troopers though.

Which could still leave a considerable number of State Troops as a garrison force. I'm doubting between College or Altdorf, as the former even with few are a great force multiplier and the latter would provide the most bodies and would be more practical for what we expect to be woodland skirmishes then an open field for knights and cannons to excell.

There may be another option with the majority of the regulars gone- giving out contracts and commissions to any Reiklander that can privately collect a band of fighters in the short time we have. Now your standard Free Company Militia is not going to be an instrument to be wielded as forcibly as the State Troopers but with your poachers and brigands choosing the imperial seal over the jail cell, and your fieldhands too young and too old for the professionals defending thei villages, and your cashiered and crippled State Troopers still desiring the taste of battle, you'll also have the chance to collect a few really, /really/ good mercenaries. Freelancer Knights and young lordlings convinced of their young invincibility riding as Pistoleers. Halfling scouts and skirmishers with classic sling and shortbow or discovering the glory of gunpowder. Robin Hood-esque Imperial Huntsmen and Bretonnian longbowmen recruited from the generations of escaped serfs and deserters coming over the Grey Mountains and the communities of mountaineers around them. Tilean expatriates and Myrmidian missionaries fighting with bristling pike and crossbow and with the odd Estalian hidalgo in the wings to cut down any breach. If Ranald loves us, we may even get an interested mercenary Ogre or two catching wild rumors of Dragg and thinking that the local She-Tyrant is recruiting Maneaters.

EDIT: I guess it would be formatted like this:

[X] Write-in: Call up the Free Companies. Though less trained and less well equiped then a State Troop Regiment the Free Companies have numbers, ferocity, and steel, to more then match an Ungor raider.

It is back!?

The Jungfreuds, however, are not so altruistic. You are not one for the politics of Reikland, but you are a princess nonetheless and you know the signs. Ubersreik has long been falling under the sway of burghers and other nobles, and the von Jungfreud family has been losing influence for decades. Graf von Jungfreud, a man who strikes you as having more ambition than scruples, seeks to win his city back, and he seeks to do so by wielding influence over you.

He never says anything so clearly, of course, nothing is ever direct within the courts. Jungfreud simply mentions a tribe of greenskins making themselves a nuisance in the south, and implores you to 'do something' about them, in a way meant to protect his family's holdings ahead of the other nobles and merchant charters.
Hopefully he won't start asking us more than just salying the Empire's enemies.

Damn, so close!
If you had the wax in your hand you would throw it at him. It's not ladylike but to hell with the gossip. "Do that now and you'll really shame the Empire. There is no glory in training while wounded. It makes no sense. Now go and sleep before I slap all of you to sleep."
"Yes, mom."
All of them will join you on an excursion into the Reikwald, where you shall slay many beastmen. And no one will die trying, or you will drag them back screaming from Morr's garden personally.

It's slightly encouraging that only three of them sigh.
They're learning.
[The Wilds Unleashed, 40/60/80/90: 92]

All of a sudden, the trees erupt with massive half-bird, half-lion monsters, shrieking cries every bit as sharp and piercing as their talons and beaks. Lesser beasts like wolves, hawks, even the odd bear follow right behind the Demigryphs, crashing right into the beastmen hordes. Dozens of beastmen die in moments as the Demigryphs rip into them like the fearsome beasts they are said to be.
Mother Nature cleaning house!!!
He rifles through his furs and skins and drops a pouch at his feet. "I leave now. Consult the wilds. Gather others. Burn this to summon the Brotherhood." He sniffs at the air and snarls, baring teeth at no one in particular. "Soon. End of Fall, most likely. The forest reeks with corruption."
Interesting fellow.

FTFY

[X] Go to Castle Reiksguard. While the majority of them are deployed, even a single Banner of Reiksguard can turn the tide.

We have lot of clout with the Reiksguard. Might even show our guys how real knights fight.

Hrrm. Short of dedicated Ranger-type dudes these guys might be good, probably won't be messed up too much by the forest and can help our men not be cowards in the process.

At the very least we might get some Flagellants who can tie up our enemies for us to cycle charge at.

Axes and trees mix well in our favor.

Well, if you just look at their roster, heavy cavalry might be a good bet against them... except they tend to fight in terrains where cavalry would be pretty damn ineffective. Ranged firepower suffers from the same problem, with the added disadvantage that beastmen are pretty good at shutting down ranged units (good at ambush, lots of stealthy units, and Empire's ranged forces can't fight for shit in melee).

On a purely optimization standpoint, magic is probably the strongest option, but also not always reliable - your magister can also implode on his own or get possessed, or whatever. It usually won't get that bad, though.

A solid infatry core is probably the safe-ish bet, either through numbers (state troops) or superior quality (assuming the religious order options isn't just providing flagellants - those have their use though).
