I've taken to referring to her as couscous in my head.

Damn, Iona heaped praise on us.
We've been worried about everyone coming to kill us, the world, or at least the Blue Steel parts, probably knows of us as a war hero!

Well, the Iona part's a bit more up in the air, but it's clearly someone from Blue Steel. Chihaya, Houston, whoever had good relations with us.
And as to it referring to us... we went and sabotaged their primary enemy, Scarlet Fleet, kept Blue Steel supplied with valuable intel, and killed the biggest, most powerful Fog weapon on the planet single-handed. Even with two centuries of possible war, you can't top that. Maybe one could top our espionage record, or top killing the pykrete carrier, but no way the same individual did both.

There are plenty of characters we don't know yet, and in the span if 200 years, could have outshown us already. I'd rather not fall into the trap of thinking we're a big-shot when we picked the Insane difficulty.

Considering the last time we broached the idea that Habakkuk would be rendered obsolete by the timeskip/difficulty the got QMs pissed, forgive me if I find that logic a bit empty.

Not obsolete doesn't automatically mean literally the best of the best. We got something great, but I'd hesitate to call ourselves the Best.

I think any such discussion needs to wait until we know...well...anything about the current state of the world

though I do think I mostly agree that while we certainly aren't obsolete, more than enough time has passed to relegate our achievements to the stuff of legends, and/or have been overshadowed multiple times

also: I'd remind people that a 20% chance of failure is also an 80% chance of success and that shying away from that kind of risk would not bode well for us, but I think we're about to get an update and the voting has stopped anyway
