Banners of the New Era

No traits about religions or the like. Infact most of those you're giving suggested costs for, Munchkin, I've explicately barred because they come from another game rather than being 'original' for this.
Ah yes, I think I remember seeing them in there somewhere. Oh well, I'm gonna crunch some number then.

Also, do you think that different type of goverment should get different bonuses and penalties?
For example, corporation get bonus to economy but penalty to social unrest. monarchy give bonus to army size but penalty to science or something.

Wrecked Economy: Your trade patners are gone or rather you are the one that gone either way, because you are trade dependent to them you are fucked. if you do not act fast you are going to crash hard. +3

Refuges!: You hosted a quite number of them and considering their country is obliviated you need to take care of them...+1

Grounded: for whatever reason because of ISoT most of your planes are grounded. You can fix it but...it shall take time...Minus to Reconaisse and Air Defense +2

Crisis!: you lack two or more essensial things your nation need. +1

Er...but, that's /already/ true of all of us? why would it be a bonus?

Because it is more so of course.

Also one more

Headless: your head of state and goverment are gone. Maybe they were in international meeting or simply in your non-ISoTed territory, either way you need to fill the power vacuum. Can not be taken with Glorius Leader +2

I mean, I don't totally understand this knee jerk opposition. If there's a good idea in the Wages of Steel stuff, why not use it, even if you have to put a different name and value on it or something?

The idea for it? Yes. The names and exact wording? No. Simply because it's not a good prescendent to do that. It isn't a knee jerk reaction, though. I just did not realize initially that almost all the attributes I was being shown by people were well, directly copy pasted from the Wages of Steel traits.

Bread basket of the Caribbean: TTLs Haiti appears to be somewhat more fertile than OTLs Hispaniola. In it's timeline, the United Republic was a net food exporter, supplying basic commodities and cash crops (refined and raw) to markets in the Americas, Europe and West Africa.
  • Anti psychic training: Ever since the existence of psychic powers had been proven, military and civilian institutes have been busy researching methods to thwart psychic attacks. Studies have shown, that even people without LSP can learn methods to block their minds against telepathic and clairvoyant attacks. Learning these techniques is mandatory for any member of a government agency with access to top secret information. Even large corporations are rumoured to train their CEOs in these techniques.
@Pirx

You are my new best friend with the top trait especially, but the secondary is good too.

Also, given ppl seem to be doing this advantage/disadvantage thing like this, I'll do that tomorrow.

If I'm reading the new claim thread correctly, can we go free styling with our advantages and flaw?

Yes, you can. I as GM will be reviewing it/telling you what works and what doesn't and helping balance it. Pretty much. and you can still do a fictional island chain, like Willy is doing it, but I just need an approximate placement, and I as GM will decide on the actual placement for it all.

Ok, cool. I'll try to do a mixture of old and new if that's ok for you?

That's fine, just remember as I said before, tech levels should be defined by the size of a nation, so if you're going for a very high tech rapture esque place with self-piloting robots and stuff, go for small-ish (only a bit bigger than a city state or small set of island city-states), or the like. But have fun with whatever it is, I'll review it sometime tomorrow.

My cunning plan to buy friends with food works!
Well its a good plan.

While my food situation won't be as bad as it would have been under the original system, I will need imports of food.

That and it helps your nation doesn't sound mad. Her majesty's government looks forward to working with you.
