Banners of the New Era

Read the OP.
Unless it recently changed we have 3 points which you can increase by taking negative perks.
So in your wording we can go down to -3.

The OP doesn't say what we can go down to, it just says we start with 3 points and then lists perks and flaws.

For reference, the games I'm referring to give you +3 points and you get to go down to -2 with the option to go further by taking flaws. I'm asking cuz I'm stuck at +1 and nothing really costs one point. . .

There are bunch of things costing 1 Point so I don't get you. And if you don't want those then just upgrade your existing perks or downgrade a negative perk further to widen your choices.

Similarly if a game allows you to go down to -2 from 3 even after balancing the perks... that's awful system.
Should've changed to 5 point start instead.

I see higher than normal population which I can't take due to taking Much lower than Normal Population as a flaw, Years ahead which doesn't work cuz I have decades ahead, Glorious Leader which doesn't make sense for a Constitutional Monarchy, and Weird Tech I, which I can't really think of anything for.

Yeah, though the end result should be a balance of 0. IE; if you take 6 perk points worth of perks, you need to have at least 3 points worth of flaws to be able to 'buy' those perks, because you start off with 3 perk points.

You are also allowed to create custom perks, which I will review on the spot and give a price, or confirm your 'suggested' price, if I think it's a fair price.

@comped,

some of the stuff in your history section actually made me burst out laughing IRL as to how bad it was xD.

Sorry, it was done on a time constraint.
Oh that's fair, it was still hilarious to read though.

Like, the soviet union not forming, thus not having WW1, despite the fact that the Soviet Union formed as a direct -result- of WW1. Amongst many other things xD.

Hey,@warr, I want to ask. Are you ok with me building Fatmans as a derative of my miniture nuclear fusion?

No. I mean small nukes can/do exist, but I have to say I'm not a fan of fallout style fatmans, nuclear radiation sticks arund for a long time and I don't want to spend 5-6 turns writing events about how people getting to deal with radiation becuse of a small infantry force attacked them.

Erm, nuclear fusion mini-nukes should produce negligible radiation.

Heck, modern day nuclear ICBM's wouldn't cause nearly as much radiation as stuff even made in the 80's would.

Yeah, however if they're small enough and cheap enough to replace a rocketlauncher (as that's what a Fatman is used for more or less) then that will provide a lot of radiation when you consider it all together.

I'm pretty sure Fatman radiation litterally disappear after several minutes. But if you mean the radiation sickness, than yeah.
May be limit it to Enforcer weapon?

Sickness and mutation could happen pretty fastly too. I'm not sure what you need the Fatman for, really. High yield explosive rockets do well too without making you seem like a crazy nation.

It's a thematic thing.

but oh well, I guess I have to take the sane, practical option.

"Thematic", no no it isn't, when you're already being allowed nuclear fission power and a semi-underwater city/island nation state.
Yeah, you're right. I won't push.

Anyway, I've read that you accept suggestions for the cost of the custom trait? I 've been waiting to add these trait to AI, so here's my suggestion on the cost

Fuhrerprinzip/Glorius Leader(+2): This trait give any nation a weak point that anyone can exploit via assasins. While ditactorship and monarchy kind type gain should popularity an unity boost from this, their nation would fall apart quicker if the guy/gal was killed.

No Gods, Only Man(+4): Any religious nation will be out for your blood if you choose this, and even neutral nations will like you less because their religious communities will by denouncing you. Not to mention the revolt risk and the stunt on cultural growth and poor spiritual lives of your citizen(If you use tropico logic, this trait should give a boost to science, so take it down to +3).

Self Sufficient(-3): While normally a mediocre trait, this is a lifesaver in an ISOT situation.

Orwellian Police State(-5); Stomping down on social unrest and help defense again outside espionage? Why doesn't everyone have this?Though this may increase the number of people turning into rebel if they are not caught.

Minority Rule (+1) This should also increase the amount of rebel you may have on your hand as well as how fast they can convert other citizen into their cause. you should get a boost depend on who get special treatment and how many group are there. (For example, big boost to science if only intelectual get special treatment, but mediocre boost to science and economy if both intelectual and the wealthy get special treatment)

These are just based on what I think sound right though.

No traits about religions or the like. Infact most of those you're giving suggested costs for, Munchkin, I've explicately barred because they come from another game rather than being 'original' for this.

So the previously proposed custom traits are not going to be used?
