Apotheosis- A Deity Quest

A/N: Figured I should follow-up on the Eleutherophobia Sisters, @nwish425 this is supposed to be after Something Stupid but before the Harvest Festival begins.

Cost of Freedom
For some reason my first thought in regard to them are the Silver Ladies/Bound Widows from Bloodborne:

But also of Queen Yharnam from the same game:

Either way I like it.

A/N: I meant to do this a while ago, but @nwish425 I kept getting distracted by other things. My apologies... I imagine this happening after Half-Breed Might but before The Orlova Reforged. This was supposed to be done shortly after Half-Breed Might anyways, for obvious reasons.

Bedrock of Progress
We finally have a proper appearance of Dwarves! The ones seen there would be highly respected amongst their fellows because they visit he surface regularly, while also being considered strange for the same reason. The surface world is like a fairy tale to them after all.

True, I agree. I just was stating my personal preferences about short or shaved beards to give more variety to the dwarf's image. But in the end what @nwish425 says goes, if you planned things out with him then it is perfect.

Altought I don't think evolution is very important in a world where gods exist, can create species and design them however they like. But as I said, @nwish425 is the true god this world and what he wants is law.

The way I see it Dwarves can shave or trim, but most don't. In fact amongst those with large beard they take special care of their facial hair, with specific looks and decorations being indications of their family and accomplishments. Those well versed in this non-verbal language could quite literally read a Dwarf's entire life story with how they style their beard.

Hey @nwish425, just a question that ocurred to me. Could we get "Goblins" as a domain? Is getting a mortal species as a domain a thing that is even possible? (And if it is so, what would the powers or effects of it be?)

The only example we have is Tiamat having "Dragons", but they are not what I would consider a normal mortal species. That is why I am asking.

Edit: Also, thanks for clarifying my doubts about Dwarves.

What do you think Crows are? It really shouldn't be all that different from Dreams and Nightmares, honestly I don't understand what you're actually expecting having dismissed the Dragons Domain. Besides obvious differences, any Domain specifically representing a species should be similar.

A/N: Speaking of, @nwish425 I noticed Myrmex doesn't have Dwarves as a Domain. I presume they are more Follower than Servitor?

Bedrock of Alliance

----
Following along with Mother Katherine, Lolly couldn't deny she wasn't fully sure what was going on. It all started when Carlos, he felt like a Carlos to her, had returned to The Forge and spoke of his encounter.

He could have easily communicated with Father Hephaestus through the Records, it certainly would have been easier- but Lolly could understand informing all four of her parents specifically.

Mother Melissa didn't seem to see any risk in reaching out, though Father Xavier was more cautious and skeptical- it was best to know all the facts before dealing with unknowns.

It was once Father Hephaestus spoke that a decision was reached, and now here she was about to meet real Dwarves. Reaching the mining site in question where contact was made, a blonde head poked out from the ground.

Golden eyes scrutinizing her and Mother, Carlos fluttered off her head & landed before the Dwarf with a little bow. "Apologies the Divine Smiths did not come personally, there are many reasons naturally- being a God is complicated."

The Dwarf scoffs good-naturedly, gesturing with his head at her and Mother. "Fairs enough, with wackos like that Bheki and Blackbeard, my Goddess is pretty busy herself. Who's the girl and young woman?"

Puffing up her chest and smiling brightly, Lolly couldn't help herself. "I'm a Dora, my fathers and mothers created me- an Automaton replica of humans."

The Dwarf's eyes widened, even pulling himself all the way from the hole to approach her- but Mother Katherine stood inbetween them, like a shield.

"I was pretty amazed too, but you can't just rush up to my... daughter like that. She's a real person, not some programmed mannequin that can move."

With an 'Ai, apologies Miss' Lolly watched as Mister Dwarf backed up before clearing his throat and composing himself. "Everyone was fascinated enough by our bird friend here, but nobody has heard of 'golems' that look like people before. Best we let Lady Myrmex explain things."

Watching him walk back over to the hole, Mister Dwarf started gesturing at them. "No point delaying things further, real interested what you lot can do with our stuff. The really good minerals are underground, useful stuff up here but woo- not much compares."

Looking up at Mother for guidance, Mother smiles back down reassuringly. "Hephaestus wouldn't have lied to us, it'll be fine." Next Carlos flew up to her, nestling back on her head before speaking.

"Unless they are masters of deception, my princess, the data I provided should of been proof enough. I too are quite interested in what the Divine Smiths can do with rarer substances."

If this will help her Fathers, then... "Okay, I'm ready." The three of them approaching Mister Dwarf, with a simple 'Alright then' he proceeded to lead them down the hole- tunnel, rather.

She knew of those giant ant creatures from the Records, but seeing them personally was just... different. There wasn't enough data to be fully certain, but these creatures seem to be guardian & transport for the Dwarves.

Then there was the tunnel itself- between that and the giant ants, this should be a steep fall more likely to cave in on itself. Definitely the work of something unusual, literally anyone could see that.

These creatures moving with the speed of Horses if not better, the improbably short travel time would convince anyone who wasn't already convinced. Even without the ability to outright sense divinity, Lolly couldn't fathom the notion of anyone denying Divine involvement.

The city itself... only Noble estates and Royalty could compare, building a place like this was just impractical for commoners. It looked more like a painting, everything was so beautiful & well-crafted.

Though thinking about it, this shouldn't be a surprise. Dwarves might be a rarity above ground, but there are still tales of them. Makes sense Dwarven communities would be this way. Given their capabilities and resources, there shouldn't be many reasons to say 'no' to having exquisite homes.

The Dwarfs themselves were interesting- they're renown for being master craftsmen and artisans, but not much was known beyond that. The majority of Dwarves have brown hair and eyes, though there were several with different colors.

There were various hair stylings as well, men had short hair but their beards made up for it whereas the women have very long hair. She had so many questions, merely getting a first look told her so much new information she doubted was widely known.

Unfortunately, she couldn't just run off and investigate- she wouldn't be happy if someone ran around her home making a ruckus, she doubted Miss Myrmex would be pleased if she did that.

There were Dwarves watching and murmuring to themselves, no doubt she & Mother must of made for an unusual sight. Leaning past Mother to look at their guide, Lolly spoke up.

"How much longer sir?" That gets him to chuckle a little, she could make out an amused 'Me, sir?' before he turned back towards her. "Not much longer, we had to inform Lady Myrmex first."

It was Mother's turn to look at her, soft smile on Mother's face. "It would be rather rude to barge in on a God unannounced." Nodding at that, Lolly figured there wasn't much more she could do.

Of all the things she noticed, they were clearly moving towards the most grandiose and refined building down here- why became quickly apparent, there was a divine aura from within that was radiating outwards.

It became clearer and clearer the closer they got, there was even a notable difference in the architecture & Dwarves. That was especially interesting her, most of the Dwarves didn't seem to be directly Blessed- they must have a close connection nonetheless.

Finally, upon reaching the front doors, the inside was a place clearly devoted to their Goddess- at the center a warded off pit, though she strongly doubted that was purely aesthetic.

Indeed, emerging from the pit was a massive ant-like creature, who undoubtedly had to be Lady Myrmex. Watching the Goddess Ant lean forward, antenna twitching, the Goddess finally spoke.

"A Sorceress, a Golem- Automaton, but what are you child? Your flesh is from one God, but your body another." Looking up at Miss Myrmex, Lolly... wasn't sure what to do. This just... felt different from Mister Dwarf asking her...

"Like Lolly, Melissia is also a God's daughter. We've actually been meaning to meet with her mother, intercontinental travel isn't as easy as communication." That gets a lot of murmuring, the Goddess herself silently observing before speaking again.

"Are you truly claiming your God has a method of easy intercontinental communication?" The murmuring intensified, it was very clear the prospect of such seemed intriguing to the Dwarves.

That was when Carlos chose to speak up. "Yes, Lady Myrmex, Automatons such as I- the Kēryx- are the primary means through which such is achieved. We search the lands for noteworthy things, focusing on only one continent would be foolish."

Besides the discussion among the Dwarves, for several moments not much happens- until finally Miss Myrmex responds. "I have not heard of your God, he must be a youngling. Magicless Golems anyone could create, capable of easy intercontinental communication is incredibly valuable. What other wonders could such a God achieve? The loss of such would be a tragedy indeed."

The Goddess leaning in again for an instance, Miss Myrmex pulls away after a few seconds. "I have much to discuss, I am not a guardian nor do I lead a protectorate. If that was what you want, the Lords of Light would be far better suited. However, I meant what I said- we do not need some demented cur like Blackbeard getting involved. Acquire allies, perhaps forge a Pantheon. I am curious to see what'll happen."

It was ultimately up to her parents what to do, but she definitely didn't want someone like that bothering them. There's Miss Sophia and Mother Melissia' Auntie, who else could they rely on?

----

A/N: So, as usual, I kind of write on the spot- I didn't really know what to do with Myrmex and the Underground City, just figured it made sense that the Dwarven Cities would be amazing what with being a whole society of master craftsmen with access to revolutionary things like actual electricity.

Honestly, I'm kind of sad I didn't get to explore more, this was very much an introductory kind of Omake. I imagine they use Light-charged Elemental Steel for lighting, did they already invent Air Conditioning? That feels like an Ice & Wind Charged Composite. Need some ideas to impress though, beyond the everything with Automatons.

Speaking of, Hephaestus should probably get Automatons as a Main Domain eventually- lets be real, someone is eventually gonna mistreat Automatons, so there needs to be a God for it. Wait, the Concept of Automatons didn't even exist before Hephaestus, how does that work?

Oh, that whole thing with Bheki & Blackbeard near the beginning? While yeah, they're probably not regular threats to an underground community... you don't get to become a God God without learning there are other Gods that are violent and/or view other Gods as snack food. Kind of like being an Old Person in some crazy fantasy setting- anyone who reaches that point is either very good at surviving or very good at unaliving fools.

Infiltrator
Late in the morning a group of Dreams were stalking the streets of the Boreal Vale, on their way back from a successful job deeper in the city. One of them, a young Dream named Rider, waved the others to go on ahead. He needed to relieve himself, and assured them he'd catch up soon after. His fellows eventually did just that as Rider walked down an alleyway, finding a good place he was sure he wouldn't be interrupted should any of the local Dreams wake up.

Unfortunately he wasn't as alone as he thought, none of them noticed they were being followed, none of them noticed the lone figure staying just out of sight. It had been following them all morning, only breaking off from them once Rider went off on his own. Rider didn't notice the figure as it drew near behind him either.

No one noticed anything…

Commander Patch was quite pleased with himself, his division of the Starlight Spinners had managed to pull off an important operation while the guard was occupied with the Nightmare's little celebration. Important assets were successfully moved to a new safe house within the Boreal Vale, and now that it's secured they have a new base of operations in enemy territory under his control. He walked down the hallway of the small hidden base in the outer mountains of the Vale as he considered his next move, after he finished the report for General Rumpelstiltskin of course.

Or at least that's what he was going to do until he reached his little office, the door was unlocked, and once he entered he saw that his safe was open. Patch quickly rushed in to check on the documents inside, someone had clearly gone through them. Those documents detailed ongoing operations and the locations of critical safehouses, burn before the enemy can find type stuff. By the time he got behind the desk however, he realized he wasn't alone.

"You really should have upgraded your security commander," A voice came from behind. "It was easy to break in."

Patch turned to face the voice, and to his surprise he recognized the Dream sitting down in the corner.

"Rider? Is that you?" Patch asked, soon sitting down behind the desk and readying himself. "You're turning traitor? You of all Dreams?"

"I am a traitor to nothing," Rider said, before his skin began to… ripple. "And I am not Rider."

Patch quickly moved to grab the knife he had stashed under the desk only to find nothing there. The figure impersonating Rider smiled and raised a rand into the air, the knife emerging from their flesh before they gripped it tightly. Patch tried to manipulate the dreamscape but it didn't work, the imposter was expecting him to do that and was just as skilled as him at shaping the dream.

"How did he die?"

"Your agent?" The imposter asked. "Not well."

The figure attacked the unprepared Rider from behind, grappling him and shoving him against the wall. Rider delivered an elbow to the attacker and began to break himself free of their grip and moved to bash them against the wall to get them to loosen their grip. It was ultimately pointless, the attacker's grip was like iron.

Soon the attacker wrapped around his lower face with its body and began to force its way down his throat, it was like he was being grabbed from all sides as the thing attacking began to envelop his body. He still struggled, managing to pull out his knife and began cutting away at the thing's green flesh.

In response the thing began to move to envelop his arm and began to drag him to the other side of the alleyway. Rider continued to struggle, and even managed to slow it down, but eventually he was dragged over to a little metal fence before trying to push his face down towards the metal posts. Rider continued to fight back, but it was no use, and his head was brought down…

"Put up a good fight did he? Good." Patch remarked. "He was a good Dream, loyal to the cause."

"Really?" The imposter dryly remarked, as if it found something funny. "Seemed rather on the fence to me."

"What a sorry excuse for a Dream are you?" Patch began to ask as he stood up. "Mocking a martyr to the cause like tha-"

In response the imposter threw the knife with enough force to pin Patch's hand to the wall behind him, soon followed by a second knife, Rider's most likely, to pin the second hand before he could try to pull the knife out.

"Dream? I think you're mistaken, I am no Dream." The imposter told him, still reclining back in his seat as if nothing had happened. "In fact I must thank you and the rest of the Starlight Spinners for creating me."

The thing stood up from the chair, grin only growing wider.

"All that terror you spread amongst your own people, it was so palpable, so enticing I couldn't help but be drawn in. "Honestly, you would have made an excellent Nightmare."

"What are you?" Patch finally asked, although on some level he already knew. "What sort of cursed thing are you?"

"Thing? I think I like the sound of that word, as good a name as any I suppose." The creature seemed to think on their answer, before quickly reaching an answer. "Yes, I am Thing. A Nightmare born of Dreams, Oneirophobia, the Fear of Dreams made flesh."

The newly named Thing began to change, no longer holding on to his disguise that allowed him to walk undetected amongst Dreams. His skin began to turn a sickly green as he seemed to collapse in on himself. The amorphous Nightmare soon closed the gap to cut off Patch's scream before he could make it.

"I am a parasite born of your own actions, and now I will feed on the Starlight Spinners until nothing remains." Thing explained. "And it's time to eat..."

Several minutes later Commander Patch walked out of his spotless office with a skip in his step. He paused for a moment to check his reflection in a nearby reflective surface to adjust his hair, his eyes turning a bright green for just a moment before returning to normal. Then he grinned and turned to continue down the hall.

What a lovely meal that was…

Something I've been wanting to do for awhile, and the festival distracting everyone gave me the opportunity to do it. Meet Thing, a Nightmare walking amongst the Dreams undetected and feeding on the fear caused by the Starlight Spinners.

Seems kind of insane to so brazenly set up shop in enemy territory, shouldn't that have been a non-starter because it is Calisto's Divine Realm?

Well shit, that's not good

Eeeeee, hahahahahaha- what irony, they were so convinced Nightmares are Evil Monsters, they never stopped to consider this was inevitable. Truly, fools they are, to have forgotten the most basic fact of the Dreamscape. Any intense collection of emotion would create something to embody said emotion, what arrogance to think the fears of Dreams wouldn't follow the same rules.

Something I've been wanting to do for awhile, and the festival distracting everyone gave me the opportunity to do it. Meet Thing, a Nightmare walking amongst the Dreams undetected and feeding on the fear caused by the Starlight Spinners.

I thought Justus & Woodsman were supposed to stumble across him before the Festival, since Justus was supposed to be there as well? This is definitely making me a bit confused in regards to my Omake Plans, I meant to have Chieftess Sarah & Alexandros meet Savius soon.

Awesome omake. I wonder how widespread are the dwarves throughout the continents?

Also, about my question. You are right, I suppose I should clarify what I mean. I was asking about the difference between having "angels" (AKA: a god's supernatural servants) due to a domain and having a regular mortal species as a domain (and yes, I know crows are mortals creatures, but I don't think we are going to have a crow priest and adventurers... At least, not until we give them Transare I suppose).

For example, having Goblins as a domain, what advantage would it give a goblin worshiper when compared to a human or an elf? Also, @nwish425 said that all nightmares now have priest powers for being a main domain, would goblins gain something similar? Or something more toned down for being mere mortals?

Holy $%&% I did not see that one coming. I didn't even know that type of phobia existed. It's soo awesome, I can't wait to see where it goes.

I'm so glad to be able to start exploring the Dwarves in detail, I've been looking forward to this. As for not having the Dwarf Domain, you are correct, they are followers and not servitors, but it's a bit more than that. Taking a species as a domain is a big deal, it means that said species is impossible to separate from your identity, rather permanently locks them in as one of your core demographics and makes it easier for members of that species to call on your power, even for things you don't want them to.

Uff, that would mean that, if an isolated tribe of goblins decided to do some messed up thing like human sacrifice in our name, it would not only ruin our reputation, it could potentially force us to gain domains we don't want to have.

In that case we should just stick to crows. If they become intelligent and learn how to talk, we should teach them how to be good people and keep an eye on them, since their actions would reflect on us as a god.

Easier doesn't mean easy, it could very well be… 1% possibility for most, but 2% possibility for the Domain Species. I doubt it could ever be reduced to Zero outright, but presumably it is possible to make unwanted usage harder.

Still makes sense to me that Hephaestus would develop Automations as a Main Domain, what all exactly would that actually entail?

I know the majority of his Followers would be the Automatons, so how would that affect things?

Is not just whether or not it would be easier for them to call upon our power that worries me. It's the consequences of them choosing to commit evil acts that worries me.

If we have a mortal species in our domain, and then a large number of that species decide to do evil for whatever reason or do things that contradict our other domains. Then I suppose it would have negative consequences on us.

But now that I think about it, it probably would not be that big of a deal. There are likely plenty of rogue nightmares that don't serve us, are evil or would just hate us, but that did not affects us negatively yet. I guess the situation would be similar for mortal species.

Prelude To Vengeance
A/N: Mermaid Pirates, that's really all I need to say here. @nwish425 and I talked things out, this is kind of going to be important later on. I genuinely suggest reading this.

Prelude To Vengeance

----
Out of all Gods, Blackbeard is perhaps one of the more peculiar. Rumor has it Blackbeard went into the Realm of Water Itself and outright claimed his divinity. Questioning a God is generally a bad idea, especially with Blackbeard.

Mortal or God, the man is famed more for his fear-inspiring cruelty than any notion he is kind & just. One would think such an individual would never make it as a God, but even though most of his 'Followers' pay him lip service more than worship...

Not many other Gods would accept the likes of Pirates & Raiders, and then there are the greedy or stupid who seek Blackbeard's help with treasure over any other Deities.

Personally, he had little interest serving such a God in any way whatsoever, but unfortunately a God like Blackbeard tends to attract loyalty from those similar in nature.

He was but a boy, when the man claiming to be his father entered his life. Naturally, to his 'father' he was 'property' that didn't belong with his mother. Overall, he most definitely does not prefer being a pirate vessel's cabin boy, not that he could actually do anything to escape.

Despite his lot in life, he still liked being alive- and any attempt at running away had good odds of ending very poorly. Even if he did manage, where would he go? If his 'father' was even slightly intelligent, the man would likely investigate his hometown and... that was a good reason why he shouldn't try running away.

This wasn't a fate he wanted to accept, but unless something miraculous happens it was the one he was stuck with. He couldn't even pray for salvation, that would of deeply offended the crew if they realized he was praying to someone other than Blackbeard.

Who would even care? Blackbeard was the only God anyone actually talked about, because of course this was a ship operated by true believers and not just men & women striking a deal. No doubt they spoke of things in secret, he was just a cabin boy- nobody important.

Yet despite that fact, when he heard someone calling out for help, he couldn't just pretend not to notice. Looking out in the distance, was a woman dressed in pirate-like garb.

She was half-submerged, and looked like she was struggling to stay afloat. She looks like a pirate, but that was no excuse to act like her life didn't matter. Pirate, sure, but still.

He wasn't the only one to have noticed, but the others simply watched- no doubt considering if it was even worth helping someone. It was appalling, but he wasn't surprised either.

Running over to one of the lifeboats, his intention was go rescue the woman- none of these pirates were going to do it. Deep down, a part of him tried insisting it was a stupid idea, and that little part tried to get louder when one of the crewmen grabbed him by the wrist.

"Just what do you think you are doing boy?" He could do all sorts of things, like lie or be defiant, but being disobedient wasn't a good idea. Being insulting or anything of the sort wouldn't help, so...

"Going out to rescue our comrade before she drowns to death, sir." Eyes locked, as he looked up at the man and the man glared down at him, the crow's nest suddenly burst into noise.

"Not a woman, not a woman, we need to go now!" He was confused by that statement, sure she was far away, but what would possibly convince anyone she isn't a woman?

Before anyone could react in response to that claim, the ship shuddered- the sound of sudden damage and leaking in water apparent. Where there was once confusion and emotional detachment, was chaos.

Whatever was going on, one thing was obvious- the ship was being torn apart and taking on water quickly. People were rushing for any means of escape, such as the lifeboat he meant to rescue the woman with.

Naturally, he was thrown to the side, and he wasn't the only one abandoned to die with the ship. Some of them were desperate enough to try jumping overboard regardless, but himself... he felt surprisingly calm.

Sure, he had no means of escape and was more likely to drown than reach any kind of land, even so... there was no point in trying to defy the inevitable.

The only thing left to do was watch the survivors... and his eyes widened, as familiar looking women grabbed onto the men, before pulling them underwater.

He had heard of creatures that lurked in water waiting to attack people, but he also thought those creatures were more on the instinctual side. It all feels too intelligent for mindless beasts, assuming it started with the drowning woman...

Was she just a distraction? If so, then that just convinces him this was planned and not simple animals lashing out violently. Not that his revelation matters now, the water had already watched his feet.

Closing his eyes and exhaling, he didn't want his last moments spent panicking- he'd rather think about home. He has regrets, but he wanted to be happy rather than afraid...

Intellectually, he could feel the water covering him, he tried to ignore it- so when he felt air on his face, he was very confused. Opening his eyes to see the blue sky above him, he was still trying to process what was happening when a woman's voice spoke to him.

"Thanks, by the way. It would of worked regardless, who would actually believe 'intelligent sea monsters' are real? Still, it could of been more annoying."

Glancing from side to side, it took a few moments for it to actually click. Doing his best to look behind him, it was the woman he saw from before. He had so many questions, yet the first to come to mind...

"What's your name?" The woman looked up at him with sea-blue eyes, smiling a little playfully. "Not the first time I had someone try to propose to me, but its Thetis."

He was definitely too confused for such thoughts right now, though... he couldn't recall hearing about a Thetis. "Are... are you a God?" Thetis laughed good-naturedly, before responding.

"Sure would be convenient, maybe finally that dirty thief would be gone for good. No, I serve Lord Triton, who serves Water himself. The girls and I do what we can, but there's not actually a lot of True Believers of that false God. Got anywhere particular you need to go?"

Things were still too strange, just a few moments ago he believed his death was imminent! "Why was I spared? I like being alive, but still." In response she cocked an eyebrow in confusion, before a look of realization came over her.

"Right, right right right... You have no strong desire for treasure like most of the True Believers, so either you're not a pirate or don't have much loyalty to Blackbeard. We only take out the True Believers, those can't be reasoned with and it'd hurt us more than him if we tried to take out everyone even slightly related."

He really didn't know much about anything when it came to Gods, but he supposes that makes sense- even despite how a lot of pirates can be seriously bad news, not many had a strong desire to obey a cruel & malicious God that demands payment before actually helping.

Just his luck to have gotten stuck with True Believers... "I just want to go home, I don't want to deal with any of this anymore." Thetis grunted sympathetically, before finally replying. "Okay, mind if we stop by an island first to get our bearings?"

What island, he couldn't see- and rising from the water was a patch of sandy land, barren & wet like it only now came into existence. That... that had to be divine work, for an island to appear from nowhere...

"Yeah, not sure what I'll do about my clothes, but getting a moment to rest would be helpful." So much had happened today, and so quickly too. He really needed it all to set in, before doing anything else.

----

A/N: So, yeah, I think it makes sense Blackbeard is more of a Quantity kind of Deity than Quality. It is already canon most pirates aren't really religious, and unlike Berstuk having a small 'Follower' base of murderous sociopaths there's a far wider range among Pirates/Raiders/Treasure Hunters that "Kill Them All" would make that inconvenient at best if not actively counter-productive.

I apologize for not coming up with a name for the PoV character, part of it was I had no good idea and part of it questioning if I needed to. There was a lot there I could of done, but I didn't want to do anything too complicated. Seems reasonable enough someone that believes in Blackbeard more than the regular 'Follower' would kidnap their own child.

Regarding Thetis... I learned that Mermaimon is a thing, and was immediately smitten with the idea of Mermaid Pirates. Well, Counter-Pirates, since she and the girls specifically target Blackbeard's True Believers exclusively. Why would they do that, you ask? Well, it all comes down to the fact Blackbeard is a filthy, no good thief that Triton & the Overdeity of Water both strongly hate for having straight up pillaged the Realm of Water.

Unfortunately, they're a bit too specialized in Aquatic matters, so despite being Higher Rank they haven't actually been able to kill off Blackbeard themselves. But one day, surely the ocean will finally have its vengeance, perhaps even brought about by someone Blackbeard personally wronged...

Right, Triton himself- just like The Reaper, he was a former Herald. Honestly, you'd think there'd be more signs of Overdeities still having a presence of sorts in the Mortal Realms. Regardless, basically Triton took up the mantle of Water God when the Boss Man achieved the Final Apotheosis. I would say he pretty much inherited his Domains.

--

Name: Triton

Titles: King of Atlantis, The Sea's Lord, Herald of Water

Status: Greater God of Water

Followers: Sailors, Fishermen, Traders/Merchants, Oceanfolk, The Overdeity of Water's Followers

Pantheon: ??? (The Primal Elements, it seems reasonable the other Elemental Overdeities would have Heralds too personally overseeing the Mortal Realm)

Main: Water, Sea, Mermaids, Fish, Crustaceans, Islands, Cities

Subs: Fauna, Earthquakes, Ships, Journey, Treasure, Sediment

Once servant of the former Water God, Triton took over the role & responsibilities when his own Lord ascended to become one with Water itself. Much like his Lord, Triton's singular purpose in life is the wellbeing of the sea and all that dwell in it. For the most part, Triton is not a particularly active God- only acting when the sea, when water, is harmed or endangered. Even then, only the greatest slights merit Triton's direct involvement.

--

"Why didn't the pirates know" you ask? I thought it was obvious. They do know, but they're both True Believers of Blackbeard and given how most of his 'Followers' aren't actually very religious...

It made sense that Blackbeard's True Believers are arrogant enough to genuinely think any other God is inferior, and that with the Holy Mermaids(?) typically not leaving survivors the best True Believers got are rumors of hyper-intelligent sea monsters. Combined, makes sense to me most of them would be dismissive that Blackbeard isn't Lord of The Sea.

Also, kind of another reason why there aren't many True Believers- objectively, Blackbeard isn't a good choice of God to serve, and most Sea-faring folk are more interested in whatever they're doing that involves sea-faring. Nobody really likes evil, so anyone smart enough / paranoid enough to figure out Blackbeard isn't an undisputed lord really aren't the type that be super serious about their worship.

Yes yes, you're probably wondering about Triton's Mermaids- they're pretty much Water Elementals, and also very direct servants of Triton. You have far better chances of escaping one than actually winning a fight, what with being pretty much Nigh-Invulnerable & usually dwelling in the one very specific thing that upgrades them to nigh-immortality.

Have you tried fighting water? It doesn't really work. Granted, this is more specifically just Triton's Mermaids- honestly, I should probably call them something else, I figured Mermaids were just one of the forms they manifest in what with being Water Elementals. But Oceanfolk was too general and would have covered non-Elementals.

A/N: Mermaid Pirates, that's really all I need to say here. @nwish425 and I talked things out, this is kind of going to be important later on. I genuinely suggest reading this.

Prelude To Vengeance
Good to have this progress, I have plans in regards to Blackbeard in the future, and I'll have the other Elemental Gods sorted out and placed before long. After the next update though, I'm still working on it.

Nameless Things
I'm still working on the next update, so I figured I'd do another informational post, this one about one more unusual types of things you could encounter.

Everything has a Name, every human, every dwarf, every elf, every animal and every concept possess a Name. I do not refer to the name that your parents gave you when you were born, or whatever name you prefer to go by in your everyday life. The Name I refer to is something deeper, something that you have possessed your entire life, from the moment you first came into existence. You did not exist before you had this Name, nothing does. This is the essence of the Art of Naming, to call upon the True Name of something and tap into their very existence, because your Name and your existence are pretty much one in the same. In fact in order to use the Art of Naming one must first learn their own Name, the only exception to these rules are gods, who can freely choose their own Name for themselves, and many gods who were once mortals wind up going by their True Name instead of the one they used in their mortal life.

With this importance of Names established, I must ask one question, what happens to a person if they no longer possess a Name? Names can be lost or stolen, perhaps a fairy took it from you, a one skilled with Naming learned yours and either stole or even destroyed it, what happens to you? The results of what sometimes referred to as Nameless Things, those who fundamentally are not. Without a Name you are not anything, nameless things are uncontrollable, almost imperceptible nothings. They are not human, or orc, or elf, or even demon. Whatever they were they are no longer, if they can even remember what they used to be. They do not obey the laws of nature or logic, they have no consistency or true form, and art risk of vanishing at any moment. The only chance they have for survival is to obtain a new Name. Some skilled enough, true masters of the Art of Naming, can forge a new Name or something or someone, and in doing so allow these Nameless Things to become something, but most of the time they make do by stealing the Name of an unsuspecting victim. These attacks rarely succeed, usually resulting in the death of victim, or at least severe injury from an attack the victim will barely be capable of remembering, what should the Nameless Thing succeed they will steal the Name of the victim and take their life for their own, leaving the victim as a new Nameless Thing.

Little is known about their capabilities, as they have no consistent traits or abilities, only that they are extremely dangerous. There are rumors that there is a higher concentration of these unbeings in the Borderland, but we lack any capability of confirming or denying this rumor. The only advice we can give is to avoid them at all cost, and should you know your Name hold it close, lest you lose everything.

The Knight Herald
A/N: Figured I should do more with Chieftess Sarah & Alexandros, especially since I intend for them to ally with Xavier & Hephaestus. Also eventually Sophia & 'Echidna', but baby steps.

The Knight Herald

Ever since finally stopping that madman, not much actually changed- Just because he was gone, didn't mean there was nothing else to worry about. Despite how that man deserved zero respect, that whole situation did make some things clear.

Specifically the importance of defense, they relied too much on not being found & non-aggression. It had worked well for so long, yes, but the moment someone both found & wanted to hurt them...

Objectively, things would have been much worse had Alexandros not appeared. In hindsight, Sarah understood there wasn't much she could of done- she had only been Chieftess for a few minutes, purely because... Father couldn't do it anymore.

It was a struggle, comprehending the idea Father wasn't going to come home and handle things like always. Deep, deep down, part of her hoped- but so much more doubted, insisting she had to accept her responsibility.

She owed so much to Alexandros and Lady Einwell, they were the real reason she didn't drive herself to madness. She needed to be strong for her people and herself, painting a piece of wood gold doesn't mean it is gold.

Of course, there were also Ladies Artemis & Calypso- she had no doubt that monster claiming to be an elf would be dealt with properly, though Sarah wasn't sure how Lady Artemis would inform her of what ultimately happened.

Regardless, she had decided to take Lady Artemis' advice- doing research on what the Sacred Scales actually are was somewhat difficult, her people were already isolationists wary of interacting with outsiders.

Nonetheless, it seems to be a well-known organization- specifically one about dealing with Dragons. Beyond that, things got more confusing & unclear. Still, she remembered what Lady Calypso said, 'stopping monsters from hurting people'.

Dragons were just very obvious that way- from what little she did know about Dragons, that was something that definitely merited strong focus. Sure, it did mean the Sacred Scales brought the majority of their capabilities to dealing with Dragon-related matters...

But it wasn't like they didn't care- Lady Artemis & Lady Calypso proved that. Alexandros & herself had already done so much for their people, they still do and will keep doing so.

Yet, it also meant the two of them didn't have to spend all their time on the Village. They will always be the most important to her, they just didn't need constant surveillance either.

Besides, she & Alexandros would notice and arrive before anything bad could happen- there were others who could benefit from salvation, it wouldn't be righteous to pretend otherwise.

Where to start, she wasn't entirely sure, but she had faith things would work out.

----
Flitting from place to place, knives shattering against unbroken iron like sticks, and with a humble smile & hand did the legend of Alexandros & the Savior Hero begin to grow. So long as it involved stopping harm to the innocent, the Divine Armor & his champion would appear.

Though the two could appear, and disappear, in the blink of an eye it was still clear- The armor was not some simple relic of immense power, it is a God. It was a slow-spreading legend, yes, but an impactful one nonetheless.

Being saved tended to build good will, it did not matter if others doubted- those baring witness to the God & Herald knew, what delusional fool would insist The Savior Hero was anything else?

The image of the Knight in her shining armor was hard to forget, so much easier life would be if they were constantly present- such fantasies could only exist in dreams, still... a real Knight in Shining Armor, the concept itself had seemed a mere tale rather than inevitable fact.

Fact, however, was not always obvious- The First Knight watched, rarely was his attention caught, yet he could not ignore what was happening either. The Great Dream is shaped by those in the Waking World.

Most Nightmares and Dreams are 'born' from the fears & desires of Wakers. Some specific types are more common than others, a sudden spike of a particular breed wasn't unusual... normally.

There were many reasons such might happen, festivals tended to create many Dreams due to all the joy for example. However, Savius has been around for a long time- it was clear when a Dream or Nightmare was based on someone specific.

He did not need to read minds to understand, it was obvious when he looked at those new Knights- they were made from the image of a God. While that wasn't rare in the strictest sense, a single God being so inspiring was still unusual.

Gods had their impact, yes, but generally a God would have very specific Domains to explain why so many were created by their presence alone. Casually approaching a God was generally a bad idea, otherwise he would of dealt with The Scourge personally.

Nonetheless, so many Knights, Dreams who exist specifically to protect- the eyes can be deceived, but The Great Dream always knows. This God, Alexandros, could not possibly be a monster.

If anything... was this Alexandros a Knight that directly manifested in the Waking World? Such was very unusual, yet not unheard of. He needed to speak with someone who knew more, fellow Knight or not Alexandros was still an unknown.

----

A/N: Apologies, I guess? I had meant to have Chieftess Sarah & Alexandros meet Savius this Omake, but things kind of got away from me. It makes sense that Gods tend to indirectly create at least a few Nightmares and/or Dreams.

I just figured certain Domains tended to have a bigger impact, and Knights In Shining Armor are Dreams who specifically exist to be Protectors. Seems completely reasonable the God with Protection & Salvation as Mains would be unintentionally inspiring the creation of new Knights In Shining Armor.

Oh right, Alexandros (and Sophia / 'Echidna' / Hephaestus) would probably have been taking Shape Realm frequently & often, given the lack of distractions. Even besides having more-or-less 100% Adoration Rating amongst the Half-Elf Village, Alexandros is also the type of God that few people can genuinely deny as being Good; cause, ya know, Hero God who saves people from General Harm.

The point is, Guardians as a Domain just really fits Alexandros- but so does everything else so far. It'd make sense Alexandros has made some progress, though admittedly Guardians would probably work best as a Main and I'm not sure I want any of his current Subs to ascend to Main.

Assuming that we were always Saint Sigeric from the very beginning, could this be the in-universe reason as to why we called ourselves Samhain?

Is Samhain not just a name we came up with, but Saint Sigeric's True Name that he learned when he was a mortal and that he instinctively remembered when he resurrected as a god?

Love these informational posts. I can't wait to learn more about what the Art of Naming can do.

The Knight Herald
This is awesome, and it just occurred to me. Since Samhain is also a god of Bravery, and we are encouraging people to be courageous, could it be that he will also inspire the creation of dreams someday?

Perhaps some Knights In Shining Armor will decide to live in the Black Field too, wouldn't that be cool? They could become friends with Justus. And if he becomes a Greater, he could create the very first hybrid court with both Dreams and Nightmares.

I see no real reason why not, though I imagined things being weirder since these would be Dreams born of the positive feelings Blackburn have of Nightmares.

Like how Thing is a Nightmare born from the fear of Dreams, Dreams born from the awe & respect towards Nightmares would likely happen.

Perhaps some Knights In Shining Armor will decide to live in the Black Field too, wouldn't that be cool? They could become friends with Justus. And if he becomes a Greater, he could create the very first hybrid court with both Dreams and Nightmares.

I've kind of been planning for Estelle x Justus, so it would be very interesting. Here's hoping people actually agree having a Prison System / Rehabilitation Center is useful. Seriously, Food Storage is important, but not also a Legal System to deal with criminals?

While we wait for an update, I would like to discuss a thought. Is anyone interested in giving each of the Liminal Ones an official colour scheme? Since we are aiming for the emotion pantheon angle, we could go all Lantern Corp and give each god a colour. Each emotion seems to be represented by a colour in the Dream World, so it could fit. And each time our magic is used (by us or a mortal), it could be represented with the corresponding colour.

I would think something like (for example):
  • Samhain: Black and gold (or yellow).
  • Callisto: Pink and/or Purple. (going by her picture in the informational tab). Edit: Mostly purple now that I see it again, and I prefer it because I see it as a very relaxing colour.
Any thoughts?

EDIT: Well, since it appears there is not much interest in discussing this. I'm just going to go ahead and suggest some colours for each (potential) member of the Liminal Ones and let @nwish425 decide if he wants to go for it or not.

Mannan: Red. As in "Seeing red" because you are angry.

Scrooge: green (because green=money, get it? Even though paper money probably doesn't exist in this world). Also green is a happy colour, good for the "Joy" domain.

Sepa: Blue. "I'm feeling blue" is an expression indicating that you feel sad. I think it would fit the "Sorrow" domain.

Hamelin: This one I'm not sure. Hamelin doesn't have an emotion as a domain yet. Scrooge already has "Joy", so I imagine that if Hamelin joins, he could get a domain like "Hope" or "Inspiration" or "Creativity". Since he is a Bard and inspires and brings hope. But I'm not sure about a colour. Perhaps Silver? It was mentioned that one could see a "flashing of silver heels" when he moved. Silver and/or White is a pretty colour that could be used to represent Hope.

Lilith: Going by her picture, she could be represented by White and Pink. (Better pink now that I think about it).

That's all I have. If @nwish425 or anybody else is interested in expanding on this, then be my guest. Have a nice day.

What I meant to do was post my next Omake, Knight Meets Knight featuring Chieftess Sarah & Alexandros meeting Saivus, but I haven't fully figured out what to do yet. Gonna need someone to post after me, not into Double-Posting.

This is the first thing I want to address actually. I'm not entirely clear on what would count as an emotion... Samhain has Fear Main & Bravery Sub, Calisto has Comfort Sub, Manann has Rage Sub, Scrooge has Joy Sub, Sepa has Sorrow Sub, and Hamelin has... nothing I would consider an Emotional Domain in the direct sense. He seems more like someone who would trigger nostalgia, rather than actively affecting an Emotion. If our Main Theme is "Emotion", seems weird only one member actually has an Emotion Main.

  • Samhain: Black and gold (or yellow).
  • Callisto: Pink and/or Purple. (going by her picture in the informational tab). Edit: Mostly purple now that I see it again, and I prefer it because I see it as a very relaxing colour.

I tend to reference Color Motif for this kind of thing.

"Black is a color (or rather, not-color) of menace or evil. It can also be associated with death and, sometimes, rebirth." I feel like it should either be a more minor element, or play into the whole Dark Is Not Evil thing what with the Nightmares.

"Gold symbolizes wealth, justice, balance, and royalty. It also is associated with wisdom and heroism. The height of a civilization is called the golden age for this reason."

Barring the fact Samhain literally had an Option called "Something Stupid" and willingly picked it, I suppose it could work? He doesn't seem outright Heroic to me personally, just Not Evil. Not really sure how to explain Wealth, nor Justice.

Yellow, on the other hand... "Yellow is cheery and warm. However, it can cause feelings of frustration and anger when it is the predominant color. It also has connections to fear and cowardice. In China, yellow is also seen as the color of royalty, mainly due to ancient China forbidding anyone but the emperor from wearing it."

It is a Color of Fear, and Samhain is actually pretty friendly in nature- he's just kind of a troll who shamelessly messes with people even on a first introduction. Of course, he's also a rather aggressive person too at times...

"Purple is the color of royalty and wealth, but also of wisdom. It is often associated with spirituality, power, exoticism, or poisonousness. In Japan, purple is one of two colors associated with death, the other being white."

Calisto is definitely the wiser of the two, not sure if that's true in general but she saw the potential in actually working with Samhain despite them supposedly embodying 'fundamentally opposed' Concepts. Lighter Blue would probably work really well for her as well.

Mannan: Red. As in "Seeing red" because you are angry.

"Red is a bright color and creates feelings of excitement and intensity. It is also used to warn of danger and can symbolize anger or passion (calling to mind the Flames of Love). In Indian culture (Bollywood) and many parts of Southeast Asia, red is the color of marriage. In East Asia, red is the color of luck (hence red envelopes on Chinese New Year)."

Manann was literally "Breaking News, Local Man Too Angry To Die." Being able to wield The Power of Hate to reject the fundamental concept of "You're supposed to be dead right now" absolutely requires intensity. Wonder how he would react re-meeting the person responsible for said Undying Hate? "I hate you so much I could not die. Do you even understand what that means?"

Scrooge: green (because green=money, get it? Even though paper money probably doesn't exist in this world). Also green is a happy colour, good for the "Joy" domain.

"Green, in an odd duality, represents both the natural and the unnatural. It has the obvious association with nature, plant life, and environmentalism, but is also commonly the color of poison and radiation (especially when mixed with yellow), and is often the color of the Eldritch or the strange and alien."

Honestly, I don't get Green being his color. Personally, I would go with... "Grey is used for mourning, humility and repentance. It can also represent depression, plainness, and lack of life or joy."

He was a miser in life, responsible for the majority of his own suffering. I would say that, ironically, he was never as special & important as he believed himself to be. Also his story is supposed to be one about a man finally understanding he was the villain of his own story, overall Grey fits. Though...

"Orange is, like yellow and red, an exciting color. It easily draws attention and conveys a feeling of warmth and enthusiasm." I could see an expanding core of Orange or something, to symbolize his growth into being something more than some petty selfish miser.

Sepa: Blue. "I'm feeling blue" is an expression indicating that you feel sad. I think it would fit the "Sorrow" domain.

"Blue is the most common favorite color and can create calmness, serenity, and heroism, although darker blues are associated with a feeling of melancholia. It is also symbolic of masculinity and, interestingly, also femininity, the latter due to the Virgin Mary often being depicted with blue robes. The association with calmness can also extend to intellect and through intellect to magic."

Honestly, I was really hoping Sepa would have been female mostly because I thought that would have been interesting. Plus Calisto is the only female member of the Liminal Ones, she doesn't even have a gal pal. I feel like Sepa would fit with Dark Blue/Grey/Blue, one of the main reasons to feel Sorrow is in response to death & Sepa is a Grave God.

"Silver symbolizes the moon and femininity. It is also often magical in nature. Additionally, tying into gold representing greatness, silver is sometimes used to represent second bananas or "Second Place", hence the use of the term "silver age" to refer to a golden age's successor, should it not be a dark age."

"White symbolizes purity, innocence, and divinity. It can also make an area seem bland, sterile, or cold. In some cultures (such as Japan and China), white is a symbol of death. In terms of politics, white could either refer to pacifism (hence the white flag) or right-wing counter-revolution (hence the Russian White Army). Women are traditionally married in a white dress in many Western cultures."

I feel like Blue would be a good color, cause Calmness & Serenity, and Festivity would be a perfect fit for him. Overall, you would want Festivals to be (relatively) calm & happy things. Also you could have just Mentioned @Leoric directly.

Lilith: Going by her picture, she could be represented by White and Pink. (Better pink now that I think about it).

You could have Mentioned me directly, and I don't get why you're assuming Lilith would join the Liminal Ones? She doesn't even have an Emotional Domain, and no Lust doesn't count- if others want to say otherwise, fine, but I'm not willing to pretend my opinion is invalid.

Putting that aside... "Pink is associated with romance, love, sex, and femininity—though this wasn't universal until the mid-to-late twentieth century, before which pink was sometimes seen as masculine due to red's association with blood. In Japanese media, pink can be associated with a Cherry Blossom Girl and by extension spring and rebirth. Pink also has a calming effect."

Personally I'd love to know your thoughts on why White wouldn't fit Lilith, I specifically imagined both White & Pink fitting her- She's actually a very pure & innocent spirit despite being called 'Succubus', the majority of her people genuinely adore her. Pure Pink I think would work better for a God more strongly tied to such matters.

Well, I did consider Jacqueline's White as more of an "absence of color" kind of thing, and she was formerly a 'lady of the night' who would likely have Women become a Main Domain.

He seems more like someone who would trigger nostalgia
Nostalgia is not a bad take on Hamelin.

Hamelin, at his core, is music as the binding thread that brings together memory, tradition, and festivities in a common thread all mortals can relate to, with water being added in as a core elements due to where he was first born. His goal in life, and which fuels most of his acts, is to bring out the forgotten or buried memories that people have of better and happier times. It also all comes together to create someone that is decidedly flashy when up and about and acting his role, since if you wish to draw people into revelry, you have to first set the stage.

Which clashes with the god himself in private, as Hamelin is unfailingly courteous and polite as an individual while at the same time being a reserved person of few words. Unless spoken to and drawn into a conversation, Hamelin is more likely to fade into the background and begin fiddling with his fiddle or play some quiet tunes to himself rather then draw attention directly.

Which is why its unlikely any of the gods at the festivities are likely to pick up on Hamelin's presence to begin with, as the festivities are already in full swing and do not need his touch to keep going or boost most of the time, allowing him to slip in with the other minstrels and musicians as just another face in the crowd as it were.

As for color - both blue and silver could work, but so could teal/turquoise. Anything that has ties with calming elements such as stability or balance as well as happiness would fit.

That said I am not sure forcing this color thing serves any real purpose?

Well, if you are expecting a long and detailed explanation about why a choose every colour, sorry to disappoint XD. In truth, I didn't give much thought to as to why a wanted each colour. I simply went for personal preferences or some silly reason.

The height of a civilization is called the golden age for this reason
I wanted Samhain to be associated with Back because It is a scary colour and because it is already more or less canon (we are the rulers f the Black Field, remember?). And I wanted him to also be associated with yellow because (I swear this is true XD) because corn is yellow. And I kind of imaged the field surrounding Samhain House to be almost completely pitch black, except for some magical corn cob made out if courage, which I imaged to have a yellow/golden aura.
Calisto is definitely the wiser of the two, not sure if that's true in general but she saw the potential in actually working with Samhain despite them supposedly embodying 'fundamentally opposed' Concepts. Lighter Blue would probably work really well for her as well.
Callisto, as I said because I find purple to be a relaxing colour. Which I think would fit the Goddess of Dreams. (Plus, her picture looks pretty).
Mannan red because red=anger. But also because if you must have a colour themed team, I think you must put red somewhere.
Honestly, I don't get Green being his color. Personally, I would go with... "Grey is used for mourning, humility and repentance. It can also represent depression, plainness, and lack of life or joy."
Scrooge: here you got me. I had no Idea what colour could represent "Joy". So, I goggle it, and found it was orange. And really dislike the colour orange, I just do. So, I was hoping to convince people to give him a green theme rather than orange. I people prefer to give it an orange aura I will go for it, but I really don't like that colour.
Nothing to add here. I agree with you.
I feel like Blue would be a good color, cause Calmness & Serenity, and Festivity would be a perfect fit for him. Overall, you would want Festivals to be (relatively) calm & happy things. Also you could have just Mentioned @Leoric directly.
Hamelin: As I said, I wasn't sure about this one. And I admit that the White/silver was a bit of a stretch on my part since I didn't want to include orange. If @Leoric likes silver/blue that is cool with me.
You could have Mentioned me directly, and I don't get why you're assuming Lilith would join the Liminal Ones? She doesn't even have an Emotional Domain, and no Lust doesn't count- if others want to say otherwise, fine, but I'm not willing to pretend my opinion is invalid.
Lilith: Finally, as for Lilith. To be honest, the reason as to why I wanted her to be part of the Liminal Ones is for the exact same reason you were hoping for Sepa to be female. I just wanted more women in our pantheon, since Callisto seemed to be the only one. As for her emotion, yep I considered "Lust" an emotion. But if you don't then she could easily be given another emotion like "Compassion" or "Empathy". I just wanted her because she was a cool character. But in the end I said "potential", if she doesn't join I won't mind, we have more than enough gods. As for her colour, it is simple. I choose pink because her picture had a lot of pink and I think it looked pretty. I wanted to avoid giving her a white motif because I didn't want too much overlap with Hamelin (which I was considering to be silver/white).

As for the referencing authors who created the characters, my apologies. I'm not very experienced in quests and I didn't realise it was a faux pas. It was just a silly idea that I wanted everyone to chime in. I didn't believe it was serious enough to ask for each individual author permission. My apologies if it wasn't appropriate.
That said I am not sure forcing this color thing serves any real purpose?
Finally, yeah, I kind of agree with @Leoric. The colour thing was just a silly idea to inspire some potentially interesting discussion and perhaps future fanart. But after two or three characters it became old really fast, and it just gives @nwish425 an unnecessary complication. I think I'm just going to drop it for now and let @nwish425 just do whatever, let's see how it goes.

It's really not a faux pas. I mean, I introduced two gods and multiple Nightmares and I really don't care if people want to do whatever they want with them. Personally, I considered the characters I introduced more or less as tools for our QM to use at their discretion. If anyone else wanted to write with, say, Selene I'm personally not against it.

I'm am keeping this discussion of colors in mind while editing the next update, I'm almost done with it. I'm sorry about being so inconsistent with these, I have no excuse.
