Antman and the Wasp

Canonly Pym didn't trust Starks or, mostly, SHIELD. So why would he have agreed to sign whatever? *shrug*

Because it is unlikely a clandestine agency such as SHIELD would let someone like Pym walk away without signing a bunch of non-disclosure agreements?

For his independantly developed technology? Doubt it. Or they woulda descended on Pym's company over the shit Yellowjacket was doing, hmmm?

After I posted, it occurred to me Hank might be on the run because of the Accords, specifically.

Oops. Do they apply to former tech based heroes in retirement?

Considering the SHIELD/Govt guy died, like, minutes after the Yellowjacket presser, and SHIELD was kind of defunct due to critical Nazi infestation by that point....
It's more likely they are on the run because someone at the New Avenger's Org put 2 and 2 together and figured out why Antman sounded so familiar. If he is handing out an updated version of the suit to random felon, who else might he be developing these things for?

After the drama bomb that was Infinity War, time for some good old Golden Age campy silliness as a palate cleanser.

Yussssssssssssssssss! Only MCU film that's really resonated with me so far, so here's hopin for the sequel being gud.

(Also is it bad that I'm still lamenting no Jan as Wasp?)

*sound of air being blown through teeth* That was a terrible joke to end the trailer on but otherwise it looks fun and I always loved how the first movie played with the size-shifting.

and at the end, this movie is tied in into avengers 3/4 by seeing how after the fun adventure his little daughter is .....
you know it's coming

but hey, the mentioned the quantum realm, the realm of quantum mechanics,
quantum mechanics which is so strange, especially in movies
wounder if this could be important in the future

but the movie does look fun

Pfeiffer's look screams bad guy to me.

Oh, I know who she's playing, but that doesn't mean she couldn't be a bad guy. She doesn't look particularly friendly, imo, is all.

Well, the poster art doesn't show her 'de-aged' or anything. She's been trapped, presumably alone, in the Quantum Realm for 30 years. How SANE do you think she is?

But, then again it's probably going to be moot as
The end credit scene is likely going to have Hope, Cassie and Janet all be victims of 'The Snap'. Hank probably survives, and will turn out to be crucial in providing the temporal stabilization tech the good guys use in Avengers: Endgame.

Antman and the Wasp was great. Duh. Marvel does it again.
I'm thinking with Infinity War part two, that the movie opens with the Antman mid credit scene. Which is Hank, Janet and Hope, sending Scott into the Quantum realm. Then They get snapped and Scott is stuck in the Quantum realm. So Bill Foster or Ghost has to get him out, and they can then help the Avengers go through a 'time vortex', which is mentioned. They do need to keep informed the audience that doesn't watch every movie.

It really sucks that both Wasps were snapped. I wanted a Classic Avengers lineup shot. And I was thinking that all this Ghost and Quantum realm business really should have been before Avengers 2, to setup up Vision's powers. Fuck you Edgar Wright. We could have got Antman and the Wasp in Phase 1. And they really should have had Wasp suit up from the first film.

In the scene where the gang was tied up, and Ghost was questioning Scott I got a sense of oddly sexual tension. Maybe that was just me. But this really isn't the filthy, crazy comic version. I hope she continues as a friendly. Maybe even have her show up in the Black Widow movie, during her working for SHIELD time. Add another member to Fury's potential Avengers list as well. That could be good for a fanfic. She wouldn't be the first antagonist turned ally, like M'Baku.

And there is Thunderbolts to consider. Goliath and Ghost have both been in the Thunderbolts. Then we have Zemo from Civil War. Abomination from Hulk perhaps. Too bad they killed Crossbones. Can't really do Vulture, since he will likely be saved for the Six.

The action, use of the shrinking/growing etc was all great. Ghost was good, but I think was used a little bit uncreatively. Her level of control seemed a tad unclear, as she seemed to be getting hit with blows she could have phased.

The humor was hilarious. Funnier then Deadpool 2. I can see why straight comedies are having a hard time recently, when audiences can see a great action and comedy film, with blockbuster level film effects instead.

Still had a great number of emotional beats. Scott is the best MCU dad. I can't wait to see Stature in Avengers 4. I just hope the new actress has as great chemistry as Rudd has with Cassie in this movie.

The pacing was a tad wonky. Some parts needed a bit more room to breathe.

Anyway apparently this movie only cost 130 million, according to the Numbers. Which would be the same as the first. Does seem a bit low as a figure of like 150-160 seems a tad more reasonable., but Antman and the Wasp is projected to be the lowest earner of Phase 3. Either way it should still make a decent amount, and not every movie can be a runaway success like Black Panther or Infinity War.

One thing is the MCU this year alone, will soon surpass the entire DCEU.
DCEU total - $3,768.3 million
Black Panther - $1,346.5
Infinity War - $2,037.6
= $3 384.1

So Antman and the Wasp doesn't need to make much to surpass it. But can it also pass whatever Aquman will add, since it is also coming out this year?
