Annihilation Approaches. (Overlord the Anime Quest)

Ignorance and poor knowledge of the setting saves me from these questions))

My answer is somehow, something, maybe it will work out, probably.;)
Welp... We're all doomed... Tier Magic doesn't become a thing until the YGGDRASIL Players arrive, but it only rises to prominence a century later. Tier Magic is very much a quality-over-quantity sort of system. A bunch of mages who can cast 9th Tier Magic will always be folded by one who can cast 10th or Super-Tier Magic.

We are not doomed because my plan will not be chosen.

As far as I understand, you need to want to use magic, a dragon with a talent for cunning plans and having power over a secret organization is quite capable of creating a situation in which the magician simply won't have time.

Wizard laughs in time stop.

But yeah, I'm just muckin about. Always fun to have all manner of discussions like these.

If our dragon could not cope with a level 10 wizard without magic, then the magic-blocking feature would give not +3, but +10 points. Therefore there is a balance. We just need to find ways to counteract wizards.

I dont know what you are talking about?

Right now your Plan is in 3 way tie so if some body comes and will Vote for The Memes! without thinking or knowing Overlords Lore your Plan can actualy win and Doom us.

Like in Overlords magic is shown to be the most hax thing and yet all plans besides my go for getting rid of MC ability to use and become total meathead?

When those were just bags of EXP for Players when they got summoned to New World?

Like Wild Magic is pretty much explained as Wishcraft powered by Souls.

Only those Souls dont need to willing for such. They can be totaly be harvested from enemies killed in middle of Battle on massive scale of catching thousands if not more at time.

And everyone wants to get rid of such broken ability while picking up Talents with very niche usage.

There is also another benefit that nobody is considering... World Items can't affect Wild Magic users. Anybody remember Downfall of Castle and Country? Yeah, it's not gonna be very fun being affected by that, now is it?

Edit: Silence of the Soul will bite you in the ass. You are explicitly shooting yourself in the foot (might need to change some shit and add some warnings).

[X] Golden Sands Dragon King (in the Making)
- [X] Desolation: (+3 starting points)
- [X] Sky's Gift -1

- [X] Sharpest Ends -1
- [X] Scales of Steel -1
- [X] Hunter's Sight -1
- [X] Ars Magica -5
- [X] Unique Talent: Second Element: Sand (You are a Gold Dragon, but you and your magic are also intimately connected to the environment you were born in. Your Breath Weapon is an abrasive stream of golden sand and sand manipulation magic comes easier to you.)
- [X] Unique Talent: Supernatural Sense of Smell (Your nose is able to do things it really shouldn't be able to, like sniffing out water ten miles against the winds, or finding treasures sunk into the desert sands by the tang of fading magic upon the winds)

I kind of like the Desolation start. Gives us the opportunity to carve out a piece of the harshest real estate in the world, hopefully means that the players leave us alone once they arive because they don't think the desert has anything that interests them. I think magic could be very useful for making this start survivable in the long run, but i feel like Abyss is too big of a long term commitment, it would leave us too weak in the short run. Sand magic should make us a bitch to fight in our preferred environment, though, I am hoping for sandstorms to cover our tracks, the ability to sense and move through sand and form caverns and fortresses beneath the desert. Make it a right bitch to fight us. The rest of the points are for making the start more survivable. We need to be extremely perceptive to find water and prey in the Desolation, we need to be quick and enduring in the air to catch it, and being strong and tough should help us until we get our magic levelled up.

The Supernatural Sense of Smell is a bit of a gamble. I'm hoping for some buried magical cities of a precursor civilisation hidden beneath the sands which we could sniff out. Even if there aren't any, being very perceptive is still extremely useful for us.

Basically, survive the start, then become a golden male version of Imyrith, Dragon of Statues and Doom of the Desert.

This plan seems cool and yeah I understand not wanting to commit to Abyss at the beginning, but Ars Magica is the next best thing in all honesty. An interesting issue that you might encounter is that Tier Magic is currently none-available, and the only forms of magic you'd have access to are the ones granted to you by your talents, and Wild Magic, but Wild Magic is a bit of a ways off. I also very much appreciate the Forgotten Realms reference, since I did make use of the lore of that setting to create the ancient times of the New World.

Oh-ho? We have something really interesting here, huh? First time somebody has decided to pick Tyrant's Gaze, which I, in all honesty, thought would've been a lot more popular. The plans you have here are really interesting. I look forward to seeing which of all these plans will prevail in the end...

[X] Golden Sands Dragon King (in the Making)

I like this one, it seems cool and even if it is a hard start we are going to have enough talents to potential even thrive.

Also, I am almost offended nobody went to craft a talent to basically have fatalis's burning scales or steel melting nuke breath.

Edit: @Waterflames3 i wanted to ask because I am myself not certain but since we are a gold dragon how will our breath weapon work? Will it be a turn into gold breath or something more mundane?

First time voting, lol. I really like the scaleless one idea since it'll be hard af but still OP (In the long run).

But the
[X] Golden Sands Dragon King (in the Making)
Sounds badass though.

I don't know what to vote on!

Voting is now closed.

The plan "Golden Sands Dragon King (In the Making)" has won.

It is pertinent to remind everybody that just because you want to be left well enough alone doesn't mean that people will leave you alone. If you don't participate in the upcoming conflicts with the Players, you will be fucked over in the worst way possible, rendering you much weaker for the final conflict, that being against Ainz and his lot. If you want me to explain further, just ask.

I think it would be very funny if Nidyg breathed molten gold, but I'm assuming it's going to be something like fire breath or holy breath.

Why do players need to kill dragons that do not climb to them and are in hard-to-reach places?
Glory, self-righteousness, and or just being complete dicks?

Let me clarify something. The Players (The Eight Greed Kings, to be specific) won't be going after you directly, but they will be behind a certain event that will make you much weaker, limiting your magical abilities to an unimaginable degree. That's what I meant.

Personally I'd be happy with molten gold as a breath, it just seems handy and on theme, we can potentially even terraform our lair to have pillars of pure gold or something like that. Besides, being able to vomit gold on demand just seems like a thing that has good utility.

Although I suppose our starting abilities would be more important, we aren't going to be throwing maximise magic right out thr gate after all.
