- [X] Desolation: (+3 starting points)
- [X] Sky's Gift -1
- [X]
Sharpest Ends -1
- [X]
Scales of Steel -1
- [X]
Hunter's Sight -1
- [X] Ars Magica -5
- [X] Unique Talent: Second Element: Sand (You are a Gold Dragon, but you and your magic are also intimately connected to the environment you were born in. Your Breath Weapon is an abrasive stream of golden sand and sand manipulation magic comes easier to you.)
- [X] Unique Talent: Supernatural Sense of Smell (Your nose is able to do things it really shouldn't be able to, like sniffing out water ten miles against the winds, or finding treasures sunk into the desert sands by the tang of fading magic upon the winds)
I kind of like the Desolation start. Gives us the opportunity to carve out a piece of the harshest real estate in the world, hopefully means that the players leave us alone once they arive because they don't think the desert has anything that interests them. I think magic could be very useful for making this start survivable in the long run, but i feel like Abyss is too big of a long term commitment, it would leave us too weak in the short run. Sand magic should make us a bitch to fight in our preferred environment, though, I am hoping for sandstorms to cover our tracks, the ability to sense and move through sand and form caverns and fortresses beneath the desert. Make it a right bitch to fight us. The rest of the points are for making the start more survivable. We need to be extremely perceptive to find water and prey in the Desolation, we need to be quick and enduring in the air to catch it, and being strong and tough should help us until we get our magic levelled up.
The Supernatural Sense of Smell is a bit of a gamble. I'm hoping for some buried magical cities of a precursor civilisation hidden beneath the sands which we could sniff out. Even if there aren't any, being very perceptive is still extremely useful for us.
Basically, survive the start, then become a golden male version of
Imyrith, Dragon of Statues and Doom of the Desert.
