Annihilation Approaches. (Overlord the Anime Quest)

I'm kind of hoping for the abrasive golden sand breath from the unique talent write-in, but that's for the GM to decide…
That could be a viable option as well, would fit with the area if anything else, but I'd prefer to stick with some form of actual gold, liek the molten gold breath.

I'm more curious how hard with it be for us to breach into the tiers if magic that humans can't reach like 8th tier.

All-Consuming Breath: [] (-1 starting point, cannot be taken with Bad Breath)
Your elemental breath consumes all before it. Few will be able to withstand your wrath.
- [X] Unique Talent: Second Element: Sand (You are a Gold Dragon, but you and your magic are also intimately connected to the environment you were born in. Your Breath Weapon is an abrasive stream of golden sand and sand manipulation magic comes easier to you.)

Based on All-Consuming Breath I'm assuming that our breath attack is based on our element. Since the Unique Talent gives a second element, I'm thinking our breath attack will either be a mix of gold and (gold) sand or maybe we'll be able to switch between types of breath attack.

Eh I'd prefer at the very least to have a mix, I think while sand can be useful I'd prefer to not overly rely on sand manipulation magic and try everything out.

If you were born in the post-Greed Kings era, you'd very easily be able to use Super-Tier magic given time... But you haven't been born during said time, so you don't have access to Tier Magic. You could eventually gain access to it, if you're clever about things. For now, you can only use Wild Magic and your inherent sand magic.

Glory, self-righteousness, and or just being complete dicks?

Let me clarify something. The Players (The Eight Greed Kings, to be specific) won't be going after you directly, but they will be behind a certain event that will make you much weaker, limiting your magical abilities to an unimaginable degree. That's what I meant.
Can you tell us what this event is?

Fair enough, it will at least will be goal we can try and achieve for ourselves. Wild magic in of itself is pretty nice.

I think it would the slaughter of the dragon lords and introduction of tiered magic, before the greed kings came the dragons were basically top dog.

I don't see how that directly impacts our personal magical abilities.
It impacts us in a roundabout way, tiered magic basically usurped wild magic as the defacto system if magic because it was easier to learn and more efficient, additionally I believe it also basically resulted in wild magic slowly dying out as newborn dragons post greed kings started being born with tiered magic instead of wild magic.

So it could be reasonably said that the greed kings showing up would lead to diminishing of wild magic in some capacity.

It's a pity that the Scaleless One plan didn't win, otherwise I think we could try instead of attacking the Greed Kings to directly prevent the level magic from spreading. Taking advantage of the fact that the players don't really understand the internal mechanisms of their magic.

Well since we have ars magica this shouldn't be absurdly difficult we have a couple hundred years to cultivate our magical potential to deal with the greed kings. We should just focus on surviving now and then try to get stronger.

Could we try to get new talents in the future?
Is it possible to use Wild Magic to strengthen your attacks with golden sand to get a more powerful effect than just a wild magic attack?

I mean, maybe? Overlord rules are fucky enough that I wouldn't be suprised if we could pickup additional talents or skills along the way or find a way to synergize what we have to get more powerful results.

In truth, it isn't the slaughter of the dragons that causes Wild Magic to become weaker and less effective. Something much more powerful is at play here. For the deep lore fans of Overlord, you could probably realize what sort of artifact the Greed Kings used to perform this act... Not many are familiar with the item in question, but it is known as Five Elements Overcoming, a World Item that can change the very laws of magic itself.

Edit: There is also another World Item with similar effects but to a greater degree, known as Ouroboros. This is more than likely the World Item that was used to change the laws of magic, as Ouroboros can have a far greater effect on the magic system it wishes to effect. Just think of Ouroboros as "Wish Upon a Star" on steroids and is within item form.

Hmm, I guess it would be prudent then to try to steal five elements overcoming from the greed kings then if we get the chance, use it for ourselves and basically try to cause as much problems for the kings and other enemies as much as possible.

That might be the move. You also have to take World Protection into account, considering how much of a pivotal role it plays in Player vs Dragon conflict.

What is World Protection?
Hope so too, i might be a little biased here bu I want to dab on ainz and nazarick, make them get stomped for once, besides, if all goes well we'll hopefully will be able to steal a world item or two from the greed kings.
This looks like an impossible action considering the number of high-level NPCs and magic items and world-class items. The only real opportunity in my opinion to get a world item in the likeness of World Savior.

To answer the first question, World Protection is a unique status that all wielders of World Items, and or Wild Magic, have. It defends the wielder from the effects of World Items and Wild Magic, which means any Wild Magic spell and or World Item won't affect said wielder. There are ways around this, as Five Elements Overcoming is one of the few, possibly the only one, World Items that can pierce World Protection.

As for the second part... It's more than possible. New World inhabitants are born with a very unique trait... they don't have a level cap. This has been confirmed, as the Dragon Emperor is beyond the level cap.

Besides, the greed kings are well, greedy and avaricious as shit, it wouldn't be too crazy of a idea to sow discord among them.

Edit: sorry @Waterflames3 for asking question but I hope you don't mind but I wanted to ask what exactly is your stance on Omakes for this here quest, I don't think I asked yet.

I don't mind all that much. Just try to make sure it's coherent and actually adheres to our character's personality. We're all here to have fun after all. (I do also apologize for the lack of updates. Working on other stuff in my life rn.)

Okay roger that, but first w must have a personality to speak of lol.

And that's understandable, life often gets in the way of stuff like that, although I am myself to see what we have at our disposal at the start and see if we can carve a little fiefdom in the desolation.

Sand... lots and lots of sand.
You finally manage to break out of your egg, with your struggles only causing your egg to tip over from where it once lay. You begin to shift even more, as you finally walk upon the… ground?

You test the ground you find yourself standing on what seems to be sand… you begin to look around, taking in your surroundings. It seems you've found yourself in a cave, with sandy walls of stone all around you. You begin to look around more, and find yourself surrounded by… eggs? Yes, eggs. These eggs seem to resemble the one you came out of.

You prod the egg with your forearm, hoping for a response, but the egg seems dormant, and is probably dead. Leaving it alone for now, you get up and begin to explore your environment. The cave isn't too large, but large enough to house a fairly large dragon, with the only light source being from the entrance of the cavern, so the lighting of the cave is relatively dim.

This cave goes deeper than this specific chamber, but as you look into the darkness, you begin to feel slightly off, like the darkness is… alive. You don't know how far the cave goes, and how much darker it'll get. You probably don't wanna find out.

That is when you finally take notice of a scent, a terrible smell that wafts from within the depth. Like rotten food or something like that. The smell isn't very strong up here, and it seems to emanate from the depths of the caves… much, much deeper down. You think that there might be something down there, and you don't know what it is. Once again, you probably don't wanna find out.

After staring into the darkness for what seemed to be an eternity, you decide to check out the cave's entrance, and see what awaits you outside. It takes you a minute to plod your way over to the entrance, given your diminutive size. You finally reach the cave's entrance, and sense an unbearable heat outside. You take a few steps out and walk into the desert for the first time.

Nothing. Just nothing. For miles and miles and miles and miles. An empty, sandy expanse. Other than the occasional outcropping of stone, there doesn't seem to be much. But, as you stare off far into the distance, you seem to see something. What seems like some kind of mountain off in the distance.

You turn around to look at the cave you emerged from and find yourself staring at a mountain of stone and sand. It stands out amongst the sandy dunes, clearly being some manner of unnatural creation. Perhaps the one who birthed you was the one who created it? Who knows. You decide to retreat into the cave for now.

As you settle into the comfortable sandy floor for a moment, you begin to think of what to do next…

Well… I did say this was going to be very hard. The shadow of death looms large, indeed. As for where the fuck I vanished off to? Well, life caught up to me, and I was planning to post weeks ago… until I was hit with the flu, and somebody decided to emotionally ruin me for a while. I've recovered from both the mental and physical aches, so I'm looking forward to doing more of this.

Well then… let's see some plans and some vote, ladies and gentlemen.

Write plan here: [ ]

Sweet, glad to see this back, and for our plan? I'm thinking either exploring our little cave a bit to get a better layout of it and maybe eating the probably dead egg for some extra juice for our survival.

But first I'd like to know how much we can actually write in for our plans, any limits @Waterflames3?
