Animus Ex Nihilo - A God Quest

[X] Offer aid to the Harsh Mountain. The Devourer is the enemy of all of you.

We might not all get along, but this is a chance to gang up on that thing three to one, so we might as well take it.

[X] Leave the matter be. You have no obligation to aid the Harsh Mountain and this gives you more time to prepare yourself to slay the Devourer yourself.

Not to mention the fact that Mountain Guy is a "punishment" type of god and seems to have authority issues, do you really want to venture so far out of our domain?
I must admit that it seems very risky for us ^^ ( If everything goes well that's great, but I'm just naturally suspicious x) )

He's our neighboor so we are going to have to meet him at one point, and fighting together might put him on more agreeable terms with us than outright approaching him out of nowhere.

Now what really jumped to me is that we need a psycopomp, someone to carry the dead to sea. And the only idea that came to mind is a moose pulling a cart of the dead.

Enemy of my Enemy.

Besides any opportunities to damage the devourer or prevent growth will help our smiting.

With all this death occurring, you were pleased to see that most had observed your burial rites as good as they were able. When hunger and sickness claimed too many people in a short time, they had begun to send off more than one body per boat and cremation followed by sending you the ashes of the deceased had likewise been more common under such circumstances. To you, it mattered not much though. The offerings, even though diminished in quantity and quality, were all the more potent for some reason and so you gave plentiful blessings to all, calming their sorrows and strengthening their bodies to endure their losses. A few other rites had been adopted by the Sea People to fill the void left by the old rites, such as burying the dead in marked graves near the village or burning them with special herbs and asking for the Sky Child to guide them, though in the wake of your blessings, they all vanished rapidly, leaving sea burial the only rite accepted by the Sea People.
I'm glad this worked out so well. I'm getting pretty annoyed the Sky Child is ending up with our worshipers, but at least we're getting the monopoly of the funeral rites nowadays.

We actually need a servant that can bring the dead from inland to the sea, so someting that is terrestial but can go into the sea would be better.
Crabs are pretty well known for being able to walk on the beach. But yeah, maybe a sand dollar? Death money is a weirdly common myth trope.

I think we could have two kinds of psychopomps, one that takes the dead over the water and one that takes the roads. Plus, if the Devourer and its ilk continues to pester us, we could have make a grim or something to guard burial grounds.

I don't think moose are sea creatures.

Also thought about this a little more. We don't really need that kind of transport. If we imbue a colony of sand dollars with the Death domain, we might be able to make it so any sand dollar can transport the essence of death to us even from deep inland. Just place it on a corpse, perform the death rites, and voila!
