An Oni between Worlds (Kasen Quest, Touhou/???)

I'll be watching this.

I'd vote now but I don't really feel like voting for RWBY and haven't seen anything involving any of the others so yeah.
:V

[x] The world twists around you, your mansion disappearing from sight, appearing in a building, filled with displays of many "mythical artifacts". A museum? (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha)

[X] You feel the path to your home sever and the ground shift under your feet, your house has been forcefully moved- and is surrounded by a lush green forest. (Overlord the light novel, not the video game)

Kasen would loathe the main characters.

9 MGNL, 7 Overlord.

Vote Tally seems to be working just fine at least :p

A bit sad that neither of the other options have votes yet.

Do you think that once the vote locks I should mention how you going to worlds that you didn't vote for would have changed them and yourself (not including your actions but just how you and the worlds would conceptually change) or would you all prefer to not know?

At the very least I will only bring up the changes to the voted for world as they come up in quest to avoid spoilers :p

I would love to know; I'm always wondering about the path not taken in stories. Definitely be interesting to see what you were angling for in terms of plot.

I'm voting for Nanoha because, well, unless we meet Ainz, Overlord would basically be standard fantasy fare, what with us not being a video game player trapped in our avatar's body.

That and trolling (Oni-ing?).

So compared to nanoha we would barely be able to explore anywhere outside the plot effected areas. Since anywhere else would basically be boring.

I just want to explore and have adventures without us having to worry about the plot that much.

Changing my vote to the RWBY option:

[X] You feel the path to your home sever and the ground shift under your feet, your house has been forcefully moved- and is surrounded by a forest filled with vibrant red leaves. (RWBY)

I do have every intention of having you all encounter Ainz if Overlord is selected.

There is ten years from Nanoha A's, to StrikerS (which admittedly you could very well butterfly away).

How plot intensive that time is will in part be based on player action, there will be worlds you can explore, though of course you'd probably be involved in the Nanoha and Nanoha A's plot lines first before you can do so.

Votes locked! Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha wins with 12. Overlord comes in second with 8. Rwby barely squeezes by with 1. Mahouka frowns in displeasure at 0 votes.

As you are the only one who replied to that, I will in fact post what the effects of going to the other worlds would have been.

Again I stress that I am not going into the plot that would have been involved with them.

Starting with least voted for to most voted:

Mahouka: In Mahouka you would have been brought to this world instead of the parasites, your spiritual nature as a Youkai and resilience as an Oni proving sufficient to live through the experience. That said, your clothes, were damaged and hair buns destroyed during the trip revealing your nature as an Oni. This has a rather profound effect on your nature. Youkai are generally products of the unknowable and terrible. Instead, you become a "discovery of science" and instead of a "being that is disproven by science" you become a "being whose nature will be proven by science". This is a random effect and I won't go into to much detail, because the effects would have been in part be made by what scientist "discover" about you which would have been based on what you did or said to them.

However some definites: You would be thought of as a being comprised of either pushions and psions in a physical form or an entirely new type of particle (where psions are thought particles, pushions are thought of as spiritual and related to emotion, the particles you are thought to be made of would be spiritual and related to belief). They would posit the theory of creatures made of these particles feeding off (non-lethally) of the collective beliefs of a group of people and gaining form. Excess magical energy you let off could be used in magic by magical technicians. When they test it and balance energy equations they would find that conservation of energy is finally conserved in magic, and that their interference strength is higher than normal. This will lead to a Theory Similar to Tatsuya's ( he had a theory that the rest of the energy was gained from another dimension), where the energy is normally gained from another dimension, but that you are a being, perhaps the first in the dimension that produces the energy needed. The higher interference strength would be because they no longer have to siphon off of another dimension.

As the Mahouka world gets more effected by the nature of Gensokyo beings composed of "belief particles" would actually start appearing in response to the scientists belief in them, ironically. Which goes just about as well as you can expect it to :p

Don't worry though, you wouldn't have remained a lab experient, as a sapient and a being to powerful to anger too much you would be given leeway to explore the USNA and eventually Japan (since you are a being whose origin originates in Japan), getting involved in issues as they come up.

RWBY: Grim are beings whose origin are unknown, feast on human and human negativity, and can hardly be called physical existences since their bodies start dissipating a while after being dead. I think you know where I am going with this :p

Kasen gains the ability to sense negative emotion in humans, and an increase in strength in accordance with her years of existence. Grim on the other hand... gain more Youkai like properties and become smarter. Do note it is more youkai like properties not all, Youkai and Grimm would still be distinctly seperate existences. Consider that humanity is pretty much confined to the four kingdoms without being able to push for more land when it was just run of the mill Grim...

On the bright side, those who have mastered Aura on the level of Ozpin, for instance, would have been able to transcend their humanity (In a sense like hermits), and while use of semblance in hunters is a natural use of their aura, they would be able to use Aura to power something similar to touhou magic with practice and study.

There are many things you could do here, with fighting against the Grimm being only one, and not even the most optimal of saving humanity.

Overlord: Kasen would to begin with be able to learn martial arts (the overlord type), tiered spells, and wild magic.

Creatures and monsters that resemble Youkai would gain Youkai-like properties, like Grimm in RWBY.

However probably the greatest effect that the touch of Gensokyo would have is the belief in gods. The Six Gods of the Slane Theocracy, for instance would have been made real again by overwhelming belief in them, as well as other gods from difference religions. Remember there are at least enough religions that the group of adventures didn't even question Ainz's odd belief in not eating with others if you kill x number of people :p. You would be exploring the world as Gods begin walking amongst mortals and wild magic once more becomes a force equal to... if not greater than tiered magic (After all the nature of Gensokyo magic is... not tiered ).

So basically your coming starts an age of Gods :p

I feel like I wrote too much for Mahouka, though I guess it was the most complicated mechanism XD

Edit: Do note that I don't plan on normally rolling Dice on this quest, as story and player action trumps all, these four dice being rolled are more exception than rule.

edit 2: also discount the second reason 1 roll that was a mistake :p
Sinarblood threw 2 20-faced dice. Reason: reason 1 Total: 6
4 4 2 2
Sinarblood threw 1 20-faced dice. Reason: reason 2 Total: 19
19 19
Sinarblood threw 1 20-faced dice. Reason: reason 3 Total: 14
14 14
Sinarblood threw 2 20-faced dice. Reason: reason 4 Total: 12
4 4 8 8

Reminds me of Mahouka. That is not a good thing.

Well, I guess, I am finally going to familiarise yourself with ViVid.

Joy.

Go away and take your rational arguments with you, Synsystem. Let me bitch in peace.

Seriously speaking, I am relatively okay with original series, A's, and maybe StrikerS (I need to finish that series one day), but I haven't heard any good things about continuity beyond that, and that really worries me.
