An Offer She Couldn't Refuse [Exalted]

I mean the quest started with a reenactment of de bello Galico with sidereals involved and we are on the maximum celt train.
The only thing missing so far is Aindiru finaly getting a spear to go with her luck.

I'm pretty sure she has a spear. She kept it in her house and the slavers looted it. Now she probably either has or can loot it back.
It's a reference to Gae-Bulg, a spear from Celtic legend which was wielded by Cú Chulainn. When it hits, it separates into thirty barbs that flooded into the poor victim's body. I believe something like it already appeared in the story?

Huh. I didn't know the Cork accent existed in Creation. :p

For a sense of the accent I basically took elements of Welsh and Irish accents - the 'eh' is a Welshism that seems to be more famous in Canada.

(The Lyric accent is essentially Caribbean)

Pretannia is intentionally heavily Celtic, though Lyria is more the Balkans and pre-Roman Spain than the Caribbean (but it made for a useful accent to work with).

She has it back, she reclaimed it from the camp armoury and has been using it so far.

Julen best of luck, heres hoping Aindiru decides to be enough of a decedant exalt ro take you along!

Well, he isn't bad-looking. :p
(Note, he's fifteen, so let's keep jokes about his sexuality mostly clean)

I don't have any super insightful commentary, but I just wanted to say that I'm glad I took the time to read this. It's very enjoyable!

More of an 'appreciative wandering eyes' triangle, and only a triangle for the moment (Julen's fifteen and is basically me taking a harem protagonist 'normal boy finds himself surrounded by pretty ladies' and making him a side character, he is not limited to such simple geometries as mere triangles).

Calling what he feels now 'love' would be quite an exaggeration.

Tis bad the redhead didn't exalt as a zenith

It's always tempting to make every interesting character an Exalt, but I do feel that it's important to have mortals mattering, so I do need a strong mortal cast, and have to restrain myself from giving everyone an Exaltation for everything cool they attempt.

It's important to remember that there are only seven hundred Celestial Exaltations in a population of about a billion. There are only so many that can reasonably appear in a small area like Talinin. The rest of Creation has plenty going on too.

Exaltation is fundamentally not fair, and it's not about deserving it. It't's not a prerequisite for heroism or agency, and it kinda cheapens everything to have everyone get it right when they need it.

Great story! After her cat dies I was expecting a teodjia coadjutor for maximum irony, but Mirna really grew on me.

I spent a hilarious amount of time rolling through demon writeups to decide what to use. It would've been a noresore (to have the Urge Yozi at least be one Aindriu has some relation to) but then I noticed they weren't sapient :p

Mirna's fun as a coadjutor because he hates his job and he had life plans that did not involve getting shoved into a neurotic druid girl.

Incidentally, on that note that's exactly why the Coadjutor houserules I wrote are explicit that every coadjutor is an exceptional specimen of their breed; so you can have a sapient firmin or teodozija who's more independent from the hivemind.

More importantly, he's literate and willing to read her fanfiction. :V

Though yes, every Exalt needs a few mortal retainers to do the minor things that need to get done while the Exalt is doing Important Stuff. The only place where an Exalted is going to spend hours making a proper Irish stew is on the Blessed Isle, or if a Sidereal is up to something.

That's interesting, I actually didn't interpret it that way.

Like, I assumed a heroic firmin/noresore/etc would be a 'glorious beast' like Lassie, not that they'd be able to violate core elements like 'literally not sapient'. That is interesting, though.

Kyaaaa~

"But I like cooking sometimes..."

Not just minor things, though. As long as an Exalt has any interests that they're not willing or able to attend to absolutely 100% be there and available to deal with 25/7, they need a few retainers. You need guys to carry your loot, you need guys to command the guys who carry your loot, you need people to watch your assets and manage your household...

As an Infernal, Aindriu can expect to get a decent batch of retainers once she reports in, but in-Creation assets are rarer and ones loyal to her rather than the Reclamation aren't going to be supplied by her masters.

Honestly it's not a yandere cult, it's just... a cult. Cults are innately yandere.

... Has Adjoran ever used Splintered Gale Shintai to create violent yandere cults to someone or other on a whim?

It sounds entirely plausible.

If we assume that her gales can actually get out of Hell and exist in any number in Creation...

... yes there is at least one cult composed solely of Adorjan.
