We're at Clarity 4, and still talking like a robot at the end of the update. The last thing we said was:landcollector said:Technically, Clarity 3-4 puts us at grumpy Vulcan status, not robot.
He only wants to turn it off at high Clarity though, and when we're at Clarity 1/2 it's purely a waste of Willpower, as at that level SoPA has no effect on our socialising.Jinnt said:As for the shard bit you guys are also exaggerating the WP drain of veekies plan at low clarity it only costs 1 or 2 WP to turn it off.
Ah don't worry about being new, IIRC MY first post was a vote in this quest (I joined up for it).Bear Templar said:New to this so won't try and vote
Honestly this seems best
The Word Is Out: Dragon and Legend know a lot more about us now, and the former is definitely going to be inquiring more soon - not to mention Chevalier and our new boss, Director Uriel. How do we want to handle things?
[] Positions of Trust: Tell only the Wards and superiors we trust without reservation. Vista, Chevalier, Miss Militia and Armsmaster come to mind.
(Currently copying and pasting these do not know if appropriate)
With Mum's the Word being a close second mostly, the main reason not to use other options is that Taylor suspects that there is at least one person in the PRT who is out to kill her, i.e. being shot in public by a sniper seems to be an inside job.
The only concern is Vista simply due to her age even though she is a more experience cape
That's merely Stylistic, I would assume. Also, straight from the Alchemicals splat:Alratan said:We're at Clarity 4, and still talking like a robot at the end of the update. The last thing we said was:
"Clarification: jostle, shake, arrest. High probability of retaliation for open- or closed-hand strikes."And after that we meditated, which wouldn't have reduced Clarity.
The real benefit of SoPA is less about during combay but allowing us to anticipate it.Jinnt said:We can turn it back on with votes whenever we want and the vote explicitly mentions combat and high risk situations.
Mind switching to this?Qazplm said:[X] My Little Controller (Friendship Is OBEY): It wants to help! Keep it on all the time, because it loves us and wants to bring Order to the world.
[X] Mum's The Word: Keep this to your superiors only, and reinforce that this is not something you want spread around just yet as you are still figuring things out on your own.

Even if we actually have emotions, if we're still talking like that it will still trigger all Vista's fears about us being a robot, and probably smack us with a load of circumstantial external penalties, as on this precise subject it's much worse than on others.landcollector said:That's merely Stylistic, I would assume. Also, straight from the Alchemicals splat:
3–4: The Exalt grows notably colder, though not inhumanly
so. She seems faintly impatient with and disdainful
toward mortal failings. In general, she has less time for
people. All social rolls not pertaining to intimidation
suffer a -1 internal penalty, unless the Alchemical is
interacting with an Autochthonian spirit, automaton
or Alchemical of equal or greater Clarity. In those
instances, the Exalt enjoys a +1 situational bonus
die. Compassion rolls suffer a -1 internal penalty.
Note that it says NOT INHUMANLY COLDER.
I think Mum's the word is better, we should find out IC what we know and can figure out before we spread it around.1986ctcel said:Mind switching to this?

it give the best middle ground between "Mum's the Word" and "Spread the Word".
We have a big one-to-one dice pool and our appearance 5 and Reputation (Beautiful) should help give us even more of an edge in Social combat with Vista.Alratan said:Even if we actually have emotions, if we're still talking like that it will still trigger all Vista's fears about us being a robot, and probably smack us with a load of circumstantial external penalties, as on this precise subject it's much worse than on others.
Agree to disagree, then. No further point in wasting posts.Alratan said:Even if we actually have emotions, if we're still talking like that it will still trigger all Vista's fears about us being a robot, and probably smack us with a load of circumstantial external penalties, as on this precise subject it's much worse than on others.
Why would Reputation (Beautiful) help us convince Vista that we're a real person rather than an artificial construct doll rather than a real person? I think it probably won't apply at all, but, particularly if she's done some research on what we looked like before, it could even serve as a penalty rather than a bonus, as Reputations sometimes can. Taylor Herbert wasn't legendarily beautiful...1986ctcel said:We have a big one-to-one dice pool and our appearance 5 and Reputation (Beautiful) should help give us even more of an edge in Social combat with Vista.
Would they invite us along though. I don't think we know he would reactivate if we get close.Jinnt said:Given what we just told Legend and Dragon they are going to realize the Nine CANNOT be allowed to keep Iris so I imagine if they get spotted with him we will be joining the fight.
The Simmurgh? Answer for any and all plot twists.Jinnt said:Why would the 9 attack Philly anyhow it doesn't fit their MO at all Boston on the other hand...
I think you're mixing up Missy and Aisha here. Missy had primarily seen us in a no Clarity state in the weeks before Behemoth.uju32 said:How?
She has NEVER met pre-Exaltation Taylor, and she has no reason to assume that our non-Clarity self is strange.
Not to mention that we took a bullet for her, which buys us major cred.
Would you be willing to switch to this?Jouaint said:[X] Spread The Word: Let the fellow Wards in on the joy of being a Bullshit Magical Possibly-Communist-Aztec-Hindu Robot, as well as your superiors.
That's uju's point.landcollector said:I think you're mixing up Missy and Aisha here. Missy had primarily seen us in a no Clarity state in the weeks before Behemoth.
I read that incorrectly, then.Alratan said:

This one's a step in the right direction, but not quite it. Trying to schedule it with one SoPA-free day every free day? That's inefficient. Remember, we spent the first three arcs without Clarity ever becoming a problem, and SoPA was active all that time.[X] Shard Training Observations: Get people you trust(namely the Wards we're closest to) to keep a record of any differences they notice in our behavior with SoPA on or off, to bring it to our attention so we can figure out a means of adapting to it's adjustments to our behavior or training the charm to be less intrusive, more acceptable. Establish a schedule of use where SoPA will remain offline for at least one whole day in every three and to keep it off for heavy social activities at higher Clarity. Ensure that it is active for patrols, or any high risk activities.

Honestly, I don't think we should get the Reputation (at this juncture).Overmind said:Anyone have an Omake or two so that we can get enough for Performance and Reputation?
You seem to not get that what's been "fucking us over" for the past 6-7 updates has been that our Exaltation got Screwed up and can be fixed by simply meditating on it. There's also the fact that we will have to keep it on at all times or else Iris is going to get pissed that we keep turning him on and off whenever we get him back. We'll be able to fix our abnormal clarity gains and losses soonish.sun tzu said:"My Little Controller" is what's been fucking us over for the past 6-7 updates. It means getting stuck in high Clarity for long periods of time. It will endanger our relationship with our fellow Wards. It will endanger any attempt at working with the Undersiders. It will make it extremely difficult to work with the PRT, which is something we would find challenging anyway. And it will make it nigh-impossible to sell potential Alchemical recruits on Glorious Robot Communism - I mean, would you accept to become a Bullshit Magical Robot, if the only Bullshit Magical Robot you knew spent most of her time being an emotionless machine?
Keep in mind, that even with SoPA off we have perfect vision for over a mile and can see through walls.Doomlord9 said:My reasoning is because Grom has stated that once we get our exhaltation aligned, clarity will be MUCH easier to drop.
In addition all of the other options have SOME time period where SoPA is off. This is BAD because it opens us up to ambush, specifically S9 ambush. Maybe they get lucky, maybe they don't. I personally would like to give them a 0% chance of getting lucky and catching us by surprise when our major recon ability is offline for little to no benefit.
Our bug recon radius is roughly 900 feet which is far less than a mile.Doomlord9 said:And with SoPA on we have that AND bug recon which outstrips it massively.
