Folks? Take note. This may well be our best opportunity to avoid a whole bunch of setbacks, right there.

Guys, again, I'm really not sure about the implications of the "I AM EXALTED" self pep-talk. It sounds like going down the path of suppressing our real feelings about what happened in the Behemoth fight, and I do NOT want Taylor bottling up her emotions yet again. It's just not healthy.

Am I misunderstanding how this action is supposed to work?

Its the standard "SHONEN WILLPOWER" action curing ourselves of PTSD with "HARDWORK AND GUTS!". Which is pretty much what Exalted DO, they change fate and destiny with their Willpower.

The way I read it, we're working through our feelings not supressing them. Only FunkyEntropy would be able to answer you definitively though.

Except, according to the latest update, we have zero willpower left.

Will we regain enough in time to do the whole "HARD WORK AND GUTS!!" routine?

I get why this is popular, and it's true that dealing with PTSD isn't a serious problem for Exalts. Grom has explained, however, that we're currently operating on Earth Bet mental trauma rules. We'll continue to operate on Earth Bet rules until we "get our soul screwed on right," which probably involves mediating on Exaltation (at least as a start). On Earth Bet, as in the real world, PTDS is serious business. So long as we're operating on Earth Bet mental trauma rules, we probably can't beat our PTSD with a free action.

Fix our soul, then we can fix our mind. We should fly off to a quiet place and meditate on both Charms and Exaltation. I get that it doesn't fit neatly into our busy schedule, but we need to take care of this ASAP.
This does not bode well...

EDIT: Going back and removing the "I AM EXALTED" vote. I just don't feel comfortable with it in light of this information.

Is the PRT going to want to resume school for everyone immediately? Or will that wait til the following Monday?
I'd imagine they'd give us the remainder of the week to settle in. Dropping a bunch of (effective) natural disaster survivors directly into a school setting doesn't seem wise.

With the Omakes, shouldn't we have enough XP to try and buy Performance as well?

Hmmm. Prior to the omakes, I think we had 13 XP. If both of Jinnt's qualify for the full 1 XP, that brings us to 15, otherwise 14. An art piece would not be unwarranted here. Maybe Taylor butchering Chopsticks, the other Wards looking on in pained horror?

Sure, but isn't the PRT stereotypically unwise when it comes to decisions like these?

Like, y'know, not getting therapy for the BB Wards in canon despite all the trauma they endured until Weld had to insist on it?

Yeah, you got me there...maybe Philly will be different?

Guys this:

Probably ISN'T going to work until we meditate on our Exaltation (Which will cause Anima flare) since we're currently working on Earth bet rules when it comes to PTSD and trauma. So it would be better to choose the meditate on Charms stunt/action instead.

AND rotating their therapists to prevent forming trust so that they can't "ASSUME INDIRECT CONTROL" of a parahuman Army.

After some reflection, I've removed the "get over PTSD" free action. I dunno if it'll do more harm than good, but... it's using Willpower, of which we need ever drop right now.

Some quick notes before I pass back out:
The first thing I want to do here is apologize. Looking back at my previous posts, I was being overly antagonistic due to frustration, and I made several statements that were very unfair to you given how readily apparent the amount of work and effort you put into this is. So I apologize for making statements and assumptions that were very uncharitable.
- Clarity will drop at least two points either in 5.6 or 5.7 depending on your votes.
In keeping with my previous point, I apologize for insinuating that you were doing that on purpose, but I want to clarify a bit more about Clarity beyond the rules of how losing it from Human Interaction works.

I am getting the impression, and please correct me if I'm wrong, that you are considering Clarity to be something along the lines of the Great Curse or Torment in terms of how the players handle it. That is not really the case, Dissonance tracks very well to those two things, but as is rather appropriate to Autochthon, Clarity is supposed to be a tool for the Alchemical, and tools are meant to be easily picked up and put down.
- These rules for mental trauma/PTSD are not new; I have been using these rules for mental trauma since the Coil Assassination Attempt. Remember those PTSD Freak-Outs back then? Yeah, same deal - you had 1 or 2 WP at the time and rolled poorly. Since then you've been running around with at least 3-5 WP at most times so it wasn't a big deal, or been high enough Clarity to gain a mental modifier from it. SoPA also yields a bonus against mental trauma, because it's actually trying to help you.
The rules may not be new to you, but they are very new to all the players. This is what I was talking about when I meant transparency. It was not apparent to me in the previous examples that the PTSD freakouts were anything other than a botch, and given that no one called it out at the time or mentioned it, I do not believe it was apparent to anyone else what was going on. This latest PTSD freakout was a huge deal, in and out of character, which is why people were so aghast at it and demanding to know what happened.

This especially applies because we saw Taylor doing something (we believe is) very stupid, against the votes, due to a state that has greatly worn down its welcome amongst a large portion of the players. Now we know that not only did that stupid thing prolong the state that is disliked, it also caused the other huge problem in the update by draining us of all our willpower. If we had been aware of any of those possibilities ahead of time, or the fact that Taylor would have refused to carry out our vote correctly, there wouldn't be nearly as many complaints. But we didn't know, and we voted for a course of action that was reasonable only to have our character decide to go against the spirit of it and in doing so cause several big problems for herself and for the readers.

Here's my vote at present:

Write-In: Should've read the Owner's Manual first...
