Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 9: Icon’s Idiosyncrasies Incite Irritating Inquisition

As far as I remember, and Gromweld will correct me if I'm wrong (complete with the hose. Not the hose!), is that there is Elsewhere and Nowhere. Oblivion went and ated Creation. Then it ated the Wyld. Now, it wants to complete the set and eat Elsewhere. Which will make it able to eat Nowhere (because of the bridge between Nowhere and Elsewhere). So. Things are rather grim.

Your overarching goal is to save Autochlon, as handed down to you from the Great Maker himself. To do this, you have several 'smaller' goals. They include:

- Somehow change Nowhere physics to Motonic physics, or at least make it so that Nowhere naturally produces Essence (which will probably make it so that Nowhere physics is motonic physics).

- Somehow making it so that Nowhere naturally makes souls.

- Somehow stop the robo-cancer from killing Autochlon.

- Somehow bring Autochlon into Nowhere.

So yeah, you have some things to do. How you do them, I don't know, but there it is.
No pressure, eh?

I have been generating new capes while listening to some soundtracks as of late.

The Kill La Kill OST has inspired a new character with each song, for what it's worth.
I for one want to see the capes "Until My Body is Dry" and "Ping Pong Circulate" inspired.

Worth noting is that Autobot is still asleep. He's more 'awake' then he was before, but he's struggling in a nightmarish fugue state at the moment - aware that something is up, hence his reaching out to you, but severely limited in his actions. Waking him up fully would go a long way towards progressing many of your goals, but would also dramatically accelerate the 'clock' (so to speak) on his True Death.

Curing him of his Robo-Cancer is an epic tale in-and-of-itself, and likely beyond this Quest's scope. Sequel material, perhaps... but I gotta finish this Quest first!

I can see, in hindsight, why some might have been worried about the "woken up by Aisha" scene containing objectionable material. While it's not explicit, one must keep in mind the implications of what was going on and the ages of those involved.

The Worm fan community often has trouble remembering that Taylor is only around 15~16 years old, and the mods are growing increasingly tired of having to remind people of that fact.

Aisha is a tough one to write for and still stay within the lines of America's Puritan Value System.

I've gone through 4.3, 4.6, and 5.3. Currently in the middle of 5.4. I'm stopping for the night, and will try to finish 5.4 in the morning. Tentative plan is to review the roll checks once more after that, and post them tomorrow evening.

Grom, would it be reasonable to assume that all of Elsewhere has been consumed by Oblivion as well, save the part blocked off by the Seal of Eight Divinities? I imagine that is the case, as the Seal would be the only thing keeping the Celestial Exaltations from Exalting some of the humans in Autocthonia.

On a related note, it would probably be worthwhile looking into how exactly our Elsewhere storage charm works. It might be possible to use it to turn ourself into a bridge to Autocthonia, given Iris was able to get to Taylor this way (though now that I think of it, Iris likely used the same method that Autocthon used to pull himself into Elsewhere in the first place...) Still, it is the only extradimensional/transdimensional thing we can investigate at the moment, so it might be worth it to think about.

All the Elsewhere pockets that were easily accessible via Creation have been Oblivionated - it's why Malfeas got annihilated as well. The Seal of the Eight Divinities is gone, however, as Autochthonia reunited with Creation before things really went pear-shaped there.

How Autobot's escaped Oblivion thus far is a plot point that will be revealed later on, but he is still in his own private Elsewhere pocket.

Bah, I consider American puritanism to be completely ridiculous. Like their children don't already know all of this 'sinful ' stuff already?
I don't think the scene was objectionable, but stuff like that tends to act as creeper bait. And we don't want creepers ruining our favorite quest.

Creepers are the reason why we can't have nice things.

It's about context. In most settings, the scene would he fine, however the creepy fascination that far too many people on these forums have with underage lesbians means that the poster base essentially can't be trusted. It's not an issue with the moderation, everyone should make sure that they don't encourage the more unsavoury instincts that all too many people here have.

Switching topics for a bit, can someone explain Auto's 'robo cancer'? What exactly is killing him?

Essentially, Autochthon is the only Primordial that has the ability to die.

All of the others? Death is not and was never a part of them until the Exalted forced it on them[1]. They were immortal and perfect, save for Autochthon who was frail and can die. His sickness, his cancer is the touch of the Void, of Oblivion, and the echoes of the Neverborn Engine of Extinction that is yet to be. As he weakens, the Engine grows stronger, and if Autochthon dies, the Engine will become fully realized.

And unfortunately, Auto's sickness is woven throughout every fiber of his being, infecting his very essence and Charms. According to the Devs, even if undergoes Fetich Death(which normally, essentially cause a Primordial to become something completely different from what they were) it will just make things worse.

His cancer manifests as Gremlin Syndrome and Voidtech, both of which are evil as fuck and freak the Yozi right the fuck out.

[1]Afterwords, some of the Yozi dabble in death and Necromancy, notably the Ebon Dragon and Oramus, Dragon Beyond The World, but most of them stay far away from it.

Though he CAN be cured of it iirc like in Shards when he's turned into the Gunstar.

It requires everything that makes him Autochthon to be stripped out of his nature though.

What happens to "Cure" him in Gunstar is what amounts to using his body as raw materials to build a warship.

I'm happy to personal message anyone without QQ accounts the text of what Gromweld said there. I won't repost here, affairs of other boards n such.

Well that's bullshit. Didn't he go back and change that scene? No mod warnings or anything.
