Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 6: Fatal Fires Flagrantly Fry Frantic Friends, Family

Omake-- A Meeting and Revelations
Have to say that this one didn't really do anything for me. It's basically an info dump (from the Triumverate's PoV) with a few minor reactions. There not a whole lot going on, nor any characterization aside from a bit of telling things that we already knew from canon. And I do mean telling in the storytelling sense.

Taylor is sitting down and chatting - answering pointed questions! - with her childhood idol. This should shape how she acts and what words she uses. She might be flustered, or stammer, or glace at her hands in nervousness after a Alexandria catches her in a halfhearted answer. Her portrayal here is just...lacking in personality.

I agree with this, although I don't know that Taylor would be flustered. This is right after the Behemoth fight. She's high-clarity, and that should be represented. Clipped speech, little emotion. She won't hesitate over her words so long as she has IEU running and she won't use more words than necessary to convey her intent, so sentence fragments rather than whole sentences.

I was going by what characterization was present in the Omake. Given what was presented, it seemed like Taylor had managed to dump most or all of her clarity at some undisclosed point.

If she had been exhibiting signs of high clarity, I would have suggested what you wrote instead.

Well, depends on how Gromweld adjudicates virtue channels clearing Clarity. The next couple of scenes would involve large amounts of Virtue discharge.

you know, Iron Sun might actually fit the requirements for the Jade caste......nah, let's stick with Canon characters.

Unless everyone dies, then we're gonna have to make some up. Just picture a team of SB Exalted:

We're all going to die, but at least we'll leave a big-ass crater when we go.

Awww yeah, here comes the 'like' train.

Uber's power doesn't work like that. He just picks up skills really, really fast. So he's already one of the best martial artists, gunslingers, poets, whatevers in the world, except he's all of those things at the same time.

There's a reason why everyone thought Uber was scary.

In the hands of someone else Uber's power could have given Worm SuperBatman.
Little does anyone know that Uber's secret identity is Bruce Kent, mild-mannered billionaire playboy reporter. Unfortunately, he's also an idiot.

If I recall correctly, he'd been holding back so Leet wouldn't feel bad about his 'bad' power.
They also stuck to a videogame 'theme' for each crime, so he may well have refrained from using any skill that wouldn't make sense in the context of whoever he was cosplaying. E.g., no martial arts if he wasn't playing a martial artist, etc.

Now I really want to see an Uber or Leet Quest.

You can also order the Dead Tree stuff off of DrivethruRPG. They do Print on demand.
For the MoEP: Alchemicals and Oadenol's Codex, that's exactly what I did. A new copy of the core sourcebook on Amazon, rather than DriveThruRPG, was more within my budget. I do plan to eventually purchase more Exalted stuff from DTRPG though.

I know a guy who used to run a game store and gave me all the exalted crap he had, along with a few PDF's. I'm still leafing through it all but I've got the alchemical source book, the main 2nd edition rule book and a few adventure books. They're all pretty dogeared and covered in coffee stains, so eventually I'll get around to picking up fresh copies.

The hilarious part is that Leet is the one with the awesome power.
I wonder why he did never tried to create the various kinds of pokemon or other self replicating biological beings: he would have risen very quickly to S ranked danger but trying to catch him would have become very difficult, given that he could have perfectly ran away from Earth bet!

The problem with Uber is that he has no drive or ambition whatsoever, you'd think that if Leet was holding him back then he be awesome after got killed but his sort lived fling/partnership with Circus shows otherwise.

Leet's power, if it is truly to be able to make any thing once is one of the strongest powers out there. it's just too bad Leet didn't have the brains to optimize it.
More like his power prevents him from getting into the standard tinker bootstrap cycle.

I go away for a day and the thread explodes with Creative Works. Perhaps I should stay away longer?

Nah.

Tried to work out a timeline. First stuff was pulled from one of the early chapters. I eventually gave up on working out the times things happened as it wasn't really important.
Just remembered I wanted to call this out as being pretty nifty.

Tattletale's Bad Day. Part 1 of (Who knows)
Heh, this is pretty great. Might be worth a read of Tattletale's interlude (it's during the Leviathan arc) if you want to see more from her perspective. +1 XP!

BAD DAY IN BROCKTON BAY
I had Iron Sun be from out of town, which would sorta muck up this whole story, but whatever. I'll just say that Iron Sun would have died in Canberra, which would explain why we never saw him in BB when Canon!Worm rolled around. +1 XP!

Hey Gromweld, not only you killed my namesake supervillan, you also got his name wrong!
I am willing to forgive you only if you tell me what kind of powers you gave to him.
I purposefully renamed a few SBers to be more fitting of a cape name. As for your expy, I didn't really think of his powers. I just killed him.

Missy's suitjamas
As far as I'm aware, this is the first Missy fan art I've ever seen. Did you look online for the Suitjamas to model them? This is extraordinarily awesome. +2 XP!

Miss Militia and EOA dressed in MM's costume
Hahah, awesome! The only small nit-picks I have with this:
- Taylor has been wearing a hoodie that looks like MM's costume, not the actual thing.
- There are 4 spider-legs on each side, and they start at the temple and jut out/back.
Still, quite awesome! +2 XP!

LUNG-RA!!! for that one post that sparked pharaoh Lung in my mind.
This is goofy. I approve, but it's only worth half! +1 XP!

Omake-- A Meeting and Revelations
Hmmm... I like this, because it's funny, but there's a few things amiss that I'm not going to point out just yet - you'll see what's coming next, and how it might make this a bit difficult to come true! +1 XP!

[Continuation of DragonBard Omake]
Ok, I laughed out loud at this. Nice work, but a little too short to count for full. Thankfully, you guys already have a half-XP to make this into a full point. +.5 XP!

Done. Quick comic page done.
Ahahaah, Eidolon. I loves it. Not enough for full credit, though! +1 XP!

Oh hay look you spotted a plot point I've been working towards. GET OUT OF MY TEETH. +1 XP!

Behemoth/Gromweld: RENEGADE INTERRUPT
[kicks Omake off building]
Anyway, only thing you may want to note here is that Noelle hadn't entered the battle when Leet died. Other than that, great work! +1 XP!

SO MUCH EXPNESS. XPNESS ALL OVER THE PLACE.
