Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 15: Occluded Orb Obsessively Observes Obscene Operations

Each of the three strategies has a side-benefit (KITD = surprise, LOTL = reduced damage taken, BMCB = more reinforcements for later) but the central imperative of each is how much time they take. Time has the biggest impact on things going into the base, as many people have rightly deduced.
You got people on the ropes, Gromweld! You should go for the takedown and call it a night. :)

COMPROMISE HAS BEEN REACHED, CONSENSUS HAS BEEN ACHIEVED THE NEW STUNTS/ACTIONS ARE:

[ ] Bring me closer, I want to hit them with my sword! Mk. III
- [ ] Stunt: Metal screams as a tornado of blades clears your path. Kali, feet wedged between Plasma Thrusters, combines her powers with Gust's, annihilating any drones still targeting you through the jammer's interference. You slam through the X of insects on the wall like the fist of an angry god-machine, chunks of concrete scattering the surprised PRT heavy squad barricading the room.

[ ] Bank Vault Door Strategy: Traps? ISF laughs at your puny traps!
- [ ] Stunt: The last drone hits the floor with a dull thump, one of Kali's swords in it's back. As the shard-embedded walls begin to move again, you shift your shield to your left hand and begin to transform your fist into a razor-sharp crystal spike. "What are you doing," your insect guides buzz in confusion. "Making us a shortcut."

With thanks to @Ridtom @Klaus and @landcollector for their help in the collaboration!

Hope these have enough time to get some votes...sadly I don't think there is enough time.

But I'll put in my vote.

I can send them along a safer path without any fighting though." You smile, "Good. Are there any heroes or agents near the C&C?" The Swarm settles around you, "No, heavily guarded. Regrouping would be optimal."

I personally feel this Free-Action works best for everyone. We get to meet some more teammates and know where the C&C is.

"Have we been activated?"

"No. Dragon's not answering, Papyrus is currently in the Belgian Remanent dealing with the Blasphemies, and The Seminary is under lockdown after some sort of Stranger event in the Congo." That meant that according to their organizational charter, they weren't allowed to intervene in any ongoing crisis as part of their probationary status. This had been made abundantly clear to the Undersiders when they'd joined on. Dragon was willing to equip them, support them, fund them, train them, even help smooth over their previous 'legal irregularities', but what they were getting was not a free pass for their time spent as villains. The four of them were effectively under a sort of community service, and would not (in the words of Director Sampson) "rampage about his town willy-nilly".

I think once it becomes known it's the mother fucking Slaughterhouse 9 in town I think the Philly Guild will be forgiven.

You know, when you get right down to it I get the impression Jack really is little more than a garden variety nihilist serial killer. Looking to make things 'interesting' in the way he does? How trite. For all the 'over the top' horror it's more of the same. I bet he even keeps a copy of Catcher in the Rye on him. Douchebag.

I should note here that I'm still unhappy with this Tourist stunt. Putting aside my preference for the other option, which is not relevant here, my dislike is twofold:

(1) Instead of creating extras who can take care of themselves - such as elite infantry - the stunt creates extras who, even if they miraculously do not need babysitting, do nothing to help us deal with the larger problem at hand.
(2) Instead of creating healthy extras, the stunt compounds the problems of (1) by creating several injured useless extras thus adding to the deadweight.

I'm now picturing Jack in a crossover with A Clockwork Orange and I can't unsee it.

Was there a different version of this stunt, somewhere?

I know you mentioned marines on shore leave somewhere...can we actually do that?

*Shrug*

It's because I believe in helping the citizens, and I doubt there wouldn't be any injuries.

You bet. Even elite infantry can be extras. Landcollector pm'd me stating his disbelief, but yeah, you totally can as long as you're good at rationalizing why they're there.

Remember, it's the testing facility they're holed up in. Obviously they're interested in parahuman spotting, or trying to get a look at tinker tech, or something similar. If they're special forces (or ex-special forces, which is more plausible), they're gear heads that drool over weapon specs.

Or (and this is just for lulz) they're a CUI wetworks team there for REASONS. Hilarity ensues :V

-[]Stunt: "Bladedancer, shield as many workers and civilians as you can without leaving yourself open," You ready Impenetrable Repulsor Field, "Focus on the tourists when you can. This isn't their fight." You notice that the tourists here today are in much better shape than the average...and the tattoos of the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor...oh. "Then again, they'll make it theirs."

Although...if we do stunt them to be off-duty Marines....shouldn't we go for the workers?

So, a version of Funky's stunt that gives us a glance at the civilians having Eagle, Globe, and Anchor tattoos. Back to the drawing board.

Solid. And clever in implementation.

PRT workers are explicitly non-combat. Which is why they were stunted as being technicians and engineers.

I know that.

But go with a stunt that mentions going for prioritizing the PRT workers (who are stunted as technicians and engineers) AND mentioning the civilians are off-duty Marines.

Because Marines wouldn't LET you prioritize protecting them in a situation like this. They'd be too busy kicking ass.

How about this for your vote/stunt Funky? Gets us 'civilian' Marines and protects the techies.
