Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 14: Newborn Number Needs Nurturing, Nine Newcomers Near

Hmmmm....

I want to say Jade, but there are just better choices. So, point conceded. Maybe as an ally? No, prob not... though we do as I have said. Need to build ourselves some infrastructure and support.

We need a facility to use as a base for the Assembly.
We need allies.
We NEED people to aid us that aren't Exalt simply for the RP value.
We need a Vat SO BAD.
We need more options and the ability to delegate objective to others so we can get more done.
WE NEED SOMETHING TO SPEED UP THE INFLUX OF ESSENCE.
We need Warstriders.
The list probably goes on but yeah...
Thing about Jade is Worm is chock full of people that could be jade(mostly heroes) it's the other castes that are difficult to fill(we're luck that Marrow fits Adamant as that was the most difficult slot to fill if you look at Canon Worm), and the only other caste that sort of fits lung now that I think about it is Orihalicum and we've already got 2 candidates for that slot(Bladedancer and Armsmaster[needs work]).

we're with the protectorate(technically the wards but that hardly matters) and so is the rest of you current assembly so a base is low priority.
we have Allies(protectorate heroes, dragon, our wards team) even if most don't give us dots in Allies.
We're working with Glenn for PR and have good rep.
while we need Vats they're out of reach for the time being which make that a lower priority than finding and working on more Assembly members(I'd like to get Tattletale as our Starmetal but that will take work).
Warstriders are a luxury not a need.

  1. We need a facility to use as a base for the Assembly.
  2. We need allies.
  3. We NEED people to aid us that aren't Exalt simply for the RP value.
  4. We need a Vat SO BAD.
  5. We need more options and the ability to delegate objective to others so we can get more done.
  6. WE NEED SOMETHING TO SPEED UP THE INFLUX OF ESSENCE.
  7. We need Warstriders.
  1. PRT/Protectorate/Cauldron
  2. PRT/Protectorate/Wards/Cauldron, Dragon (once Saint is... dealt with)
  3. PRT/Protectorate/Wards/Cauldron, Dragon
  4. Yes. Yes we do.
  5. Yes.
  6. Yes.
  7. Not really, although they would be useful.

As it happens, 4 and 6 go together: we need 6 to do 4, because building a vat complex requires geomancy to build it on. Once we've got 6... well, things will be different. It will probably not be too much trouble, given time.

5 is action multiplication, which probably helps with approximately everything.

In order to do 6, it would be really helpful to recover Iris.

EDIT: Wait, have we told anyone that we can upgrade ourselves and others if we have access to a Vat Complex and artifact-making materials?

Iris might very possibly be able to help with number 4 as well.

I don't think so.

How big is this pin hole?

How is the essence alligned? Creation had the classical elements basically, Autocthon has his own. So is the air passing through the cradle air aligned? Steam? Something else? If we move stone though it, will it be the same kind? Can the essence impregnated in the matter migrate, change forms? Are people becoming more motoic as they breath essenced air?
Most of these are open questions (and very good ones), but I believe we have WOG on how the essence is aspected when it first leaves the Cradle. Gromweld mentioned that Auto is taking the opportunity given by the Cradle to vent exhaust, which I believe would be Smoke-aspected essence, the Autochthonian element most inimical to life and most closely tied to entropy and Gremlin Syndrome. Whether encountering Nowhere air causes the Smoke essence to become Steam- or Air-aspected (or even become simple Essence Physics air, which is I think a different thing) is an open question.

Please.
Piggot was a possible candidate, and Word of God is that Contessa was as well; Grom's original plan was for Contessa to end up as our last Alchemical.
Worm is not exactly short on people looking for something/someone to believe in.
Jade caste remains reserved for Chevalier/Miss Militia.
Both are likely to be entirely too useful as Allies to be converted.

Well, yes, but once there's demesnes, I'm pretty sure we have the skillz to do it ourselves without too much trouble. (just time and effort)

... I suppose maybe he could maybe help us get a vat complex up before we let the atomic motonic genie out of its bottle.
We should probably consider this possibility.

... consider, not jump straight in.

We can still nab her (sooner rather than later even) if we play our cards right:
Step 1: Tattletale as our Starmetal, load her up on social charms.
Step 2: Find Contessa/Be a part of the PtV step that requires her to interact with us positively
Step 3: Social-Fu

We need to do research on Saint. He did attack us while Exalting someone. Work a stunt in to come across the fact that Dragon is an AI. And use that knowledge plus whatever else we can to help Dragon.

Also, Infrastructure. Get a non-PRT base means we can higher people, like Rogues, so we can delegate. It might be tricky to get the PRT to sanction it, BUT, well we know people, and Accord could probably help in that area?

And my vote for Starmetal is DRAGON. She's already badass, and I think having a 'human' body would help. Or maybe we could get her to ally with us in a closer sense. Think Dragon making a Avatar body based off of an Alchemicals (This would help with the Armsmaster-Dragon side quest). And her experience with remote manufacturing facilities would be a big boon when we can make a Vat.

Contessa has very little in the way of willpower she shuts down if her power fails.
I think that with Autochthon upgrading her, she'd encounter that sort of situation quite a bit less.

That sounds more like a Jade.

Contessa for Moonsilver!

Actually, if Cauldron becomes more informed about how Exalted work... she might just beat a path to our door herself.

Contessa has very little in the way of willpower she shuts down if her power fails.
She sacrificed everything, including most of her self, to do what needed to be done.
Thant's what qualifies her: She had power, and she used it. Maybe not wisely, but she used it. She saw what needed to be done, and she tried her hardest to do it.

eww no we have no reason to trust Tt and IC an argument could be made that Coil was just a cover for her.
Step Zero: get a reason to trust TT :V

Really though, we don't have to Exalt her to have her on our side. It would help, but she's just as useful un-Exalted. we could use the slot for others and still have her on our side.

Not in this Quest.
Go read the Cauldron Interval.

I'm not convinced that Contessa is a good fit for Moonsilver.
Or Tattletale for Starmetal, for that matter.
I retain an open mind, but we'll see.
