According to The Mandate of Heaven it is. But this is missing the central point of it all, Exalted doesn't do objective morality. There is no Lawful Good, no Chaotic Evil, no True Neutral, only the general consensus of right and wrong.

Not so much Essence generation but... assuming there is an existing supply of power, I'm looking for something that could focus it to a greater effect. Umm... hmm. I'm not really familiar enough with Exalted to put it better, but maybe something akin to an Excellency/Augmentation? Or, well, think an inverted prism or a focusing mirror: unfocused energy goes in and comes out in a tighter stream.

If not, it's not a huge deal--I've come up with a bit of fluff that kind of works, but I'd rather borrow something that already exists.
 
Ah! Are you trying to infuse the essence from the Cradle into materials? Because I think for that you just get a pipe and pump whatever you want to infuse through that point in space the normal way.

That's already done. Now I'm starting to wonder if people are actually enjoying those Omakes...

I'm getting the feeling that there might not be something like what I'm looking for, which is fine. Just means I need to be a bit more inventive with my fluff.

I'm not really sure what you want to do, so I can't tell you whether there's something that does what you want.
 
The artifact I'm contemplating already has a power component, but it's rather raw and unfocused. I'm specifically looking for something in Exalted that would make sense as a way to focus and refine this power for the other systems in the artifact. I asked for an artifact because, as I understand it, Artifacts can be leveraged to create more powerful artifacts--but an Alchemical charm would also make sense, as I'm mainly looking for a process and a description, not hard numbers.

Just tell us what you want the Artifact to do. There might be an already-existing Artifact that does what you want, but in a simpler (or more complex) way.

Well, technically Alchemical Charms are very advanced Artifacts. Now the thing is that you need to tell us what you want said Artifact to do. You mentioned an Excellency before, so do you want it to boost us in a single attribute for an action or something like that?
 
someone could come up with an alchemical version of essence gathering temper i suppose. its a low level solar charm.
or after getting a few examples of people from our world auto could come up with a geomantic formula for essence enlightenigh sutra that worked here. although that takes years to use so... plus with the right sorcery spells someone could begin forging a manse over the cradle meybe that would help jumpstart stuff.
 
Well, the only source of "random" Essence that can't be tapped directly or through Wyld-shaping is an uncapped Demense, which needs to be capped with a Manse (or a Freehold, but this Taylor isn't a Raksha) to become useful. Unfortunately, I don't think the results of Geomancy count as Artifacts in and of themselves, though Manses do produce one or more Hearthstones, which are Artifact power sources that are simple and easy to use.

Hearthstones are Hearthstones, Artifacts are Artifacts.

Except for Alchemical Charms. Then Charms are Artifacts that are also Charms but not quite Artifacts.

Sometimes i hate Alchemical Charms.

Translation: RadiantPhoenix is right, it is fucked up, you just like doing fucked up things.

Which is fine, it's just a game. I've burned enough digital civilians to death with a flamethrower (Kane approves this message!) not to get bent out of shape about it. That doesn't really have any bearing on whether or not the hypothetical action being debated would be moral though.

1. Yes it is, very much.

2. No i don't, i hate it. There is no one right here because it is all opinion and personal morals. I don't enjoy doing fucked up things to any degree, and that is why i hate the Great Curse so much and why it is so insidious. No matter who you are, no matter how virtuous you are. no matter how perfect you are, it corrupts you, virtues are warped and twisted to extreme caricatures, perfection breaks and cracks, becoming a dark mirror of itself, the virtuous become their own bane as everything they love becomes twisted reflections.

This is incidentally why the Solars were deposed.

But none of this matters, as this argument should be in the PMs instead of here, where it kinda clutters up the thread.

That's a fair point. But he understands a lot about people and has a sense of honor (If we can rekindle/awaken it fully instead of the dregs of what it is now). He would be invaluable as an enforcer and help with dealing with criminals. After all he was one so we will know how they think. His rep will aid us, and if approached properly from a PR stand point it could be rolled as a redemption play.

The fact that the Endbringers want us dead, and will step up their game once they figure out we can make more... well he would be great against them. Also with him around we could get resources from other avenuse as well, I mean. If we're going to clean up Camden (or whatever it was called), we should look into getting our own infrastructure running but that's another thing altogether.

If we can, we need to use our money and connections to start prepping a facility. Figure out how to make a Vat and maybe even some kind of Essence generates to speed up the influences of essence.

This Artifact is a new innovation designed with the purpose of saturating an area with Essence. Drawing it through Elsewhere from Creation (or whats felt of it).

Minor quibble. Creation is destroyed. It has basically been unmade, such that it has Never Existed.

Hmmmm....

I want to say Jade, but there are just better choices. So, point conceded. Maybe as an ally? No, prob not... though we do as I have said. Need to build ourselves some infrastructure and support.

We need a facility to use as a base for the Assembly.
We need allies.
We NEED people to aid us that aren't Exalt simply for the RP value.
We need a Vat SO BAD.
We need more options and the ability to delegate objective to others so we can get more done.
WE NEED SOMETHING TO SPEED UP THE INFLUX OF ESSENCE.
We need Warstriders.
The list probably goes on but yeah...

For speeding up Essence, we need to experiment.

How big is this pin hole?

How is the essence alligned? Creation had the classical elements basically, Autocthon has his own. So is the air passing through the cradle air aligned? Steam? Something else? If we move stone though it, will it be the same kind? Can the essence impregnated in the matter migrate, change forms? Are people becoming more motoic as they breath essenced air?

What happens if something passes through the cradle twice? What happens to light? A laser?

After all that figure out what is the most effective thing for us to convert, and start feeding it through, 24/7, a rod of steel the exact dimensions of the cradle, endlessly projected through. Or a laser, or a highspeed fan.
