[X] March towards fate
-[X] Esha casts Magic Weapon on us and the three Kikut-Barbarians
-[X] Tender blesses people as per this post.
-[X] Tender also uses Monstrous Insight from her Lore-Spirit (gained today via Wandering Spirit)
-[X] For the Attack, Roland, Silver and the Knikut take the front, second row stays behind the pavises to survive the first breath, after than the spearmen go into melee to use Dirty Tricks (blinding) with Tom's support, after than they simply attack
-[X] Roland uses his Challenge and bodyguards people next to him with his AoOs.
--[X] They stay ready to drag the most wounded behind the shields and give out healing potions as needed
-[X] Net wielders use their nets to entangle the dragon from behind the shields
-[X] Our bowmen and Antonio attack as soon as the battle starts, staying our of breath-range
-[X] One of our ranged MaA directs the magic crossbows, Zuan reloads them
-[X] Inge stays with the archers and casts Snowballs

That an acceptable outline?

I insist on Roland starting with a charge. We might get a lucky crit there with the lance

What do you think of following?

1. Before the battle Inge uses Guidance on as many as she can and on herself, in the first round she uses Guiding Spirit to increase chance of Snowball hitting, on nat 20 resetting the Guiding Spirit she continues to use it in the next rounds, when no more Guiding Spirit she then uses her Guidance. Those she cast Guidance on use it to hit better in the first round.

2. Try to use the bag of sand trick to deprive the dragon of the first breath attack.
I was talking about shoving a small bag of dirt down its gullet or something while we try to use nets, not simply a fistful of dirt.
Hmm... You might be able to make a dragon cough like that especially if you used fine sand. I would give them a fort save to resist having their breath blocked for one turn. It would be a bit too strong if they just automatically wasted their breath.
Maybe Esha should do it with her Mage Hand, as soon as the beast opens up its gullet enough, she shoves the bag of sand down its gullet. @DragonParadox Would that be acceptable use of Esha's Mage Hand?

3. If Inge participate, Esha can participate, if she uses Arcane Barrier just before the battle, she has 11 HP + 5 Temp HP, on par with Inge, and she has the same AC and reflex save as Inge, and she can renew her 5 Temp HP as a swift action during the battle once. After trying bag of sand trick, she can administer CLW potions or take potshots with her Ray of Frost.

Bag of sand is a dirty trick I think? Thus should be used by our men with Deft Maneuvers

I stole most of your plan, @Artemis1992, then got a bit more specific.

I think this covers everything as best as possible. Anyone got any additional suggestions?

[X] Into glory ride...
-[X] Buffing: Casting and ability use timed so that everything has been applied as the group tops the ridge.

--[X] Inge
---[X] Casts Guidance on Roland, Silver, herself, and the Knikut so that their first attacks all benefit from a +1 bonus.
--[X] Esha
---[X] Casts Magic Weapon on Roland's sword, Tom's spear, and the remaining Knikut's weapon, then Expeditious Retreat on Inge.
--[X] Tender:
---[X] Casts Bless on everyone, Magic Weapon on the weapons of two of her fellow Knikut (including their best warrior), Bear's Endurance on herself and the best Knikut warrior, plus Enlarge Person and Bull's Strength on the best Knikut warrior.
---[X] Applies the Mammoth's Hide buff to herself, the Enlarged Knikut, and one other Knikut. When she finally sees the Dragon, she uses Monstrous Insight.
--[X] Zaia: It sorta counts...
---[X] He distributes vials of acid to the melee fighters, keeping one for himself. They're to throw them at the Dragon if it attempts to move out of melee or fly away.

-[X] For the attack, the Knikut take the front and sides, Roland and Silver the rear and sides, and second row stays off to the sides behind the pavises to survive the first breath if they're targeted.
--[X] Melee:
---[X] Roland uses his Challenge on the Dragon to increase his damage against it by +4 and to increase everyone's melee attacks against it by +2.
----[X] If the terrain looks agreeable and Roland believes he and Silver can time it properly, they will attempt to open with a Charge attack against the Dragon, as will the Enlarged Knikut.
----[X] The Enlarged Knikut will try to keep the Dragon's attention focused on him at the front and will attempt to grapple or restrain it if/when it attempts to use its Breath Weapon, possibly directing the damage up into the air or down into the ground. He's going to be Large-sized and have a Strength of at least 22, so it should be possible.
-----[X] If the Dragon attempts to fly away or burrow into the ground, the Enlarged Knikut will do his best to grab into it and prevent this outcome. This isn't necessarily a Grapple, though that could also work, but simply latching onto a limb (the Dragon has a lot of them) and not letting it leave.
---[X] Just before the attack, all of the Knikut use their Rage ability as a Free Action, including Tender who gains the power from her sword.
---[X] Tom uses Coordinated Maneuvers as everyone closes with the Dragon to give them a +2 bonus on their Combat Maneuvers against the Dragon.
---[X] The net wielders use their reinforced nets to Entangle the Dragon from behind the shields. Tom uses Aid Another to help one of the net wielders, if possible.
---[X] The spearmen go into melee to use Dirty Trick(Blinding). They use Aid Another to increase the chance for success.
----[X] They continue trying to blind the Dragon as opportunities present themselves or simply attack if they see a good opening, but otherwise stay out from underfoot from the main fighters and stand ready to drag the most wounded behind the shields and administer healing potions as needed, though everyone fighting should have at least one potion on their person to take in an emergency.

--[X] Ranged:
---[X] Our archers, Zuan, and Antonio spread out and attack as soon as the battle starts, just before we finish closing to melee range. They take positions near the ridge within the first range increment of their bows to stay out of the Dragon's breath weapon range and so they can quickly take cover if necessary.
----[X] Antonio takes a single shot before the melee fight begins due to his lack of the Precise Shot feat. Afterwards, he holds his fire unless the Dragon moves out of melee or tries to take flight.
----[X] Our archers take what shots they can during the fight, but hold their fire if an ally is too close to their arrows' flight paths. The magic crossbows are spread to either side of the group so as not to present a single easy target, and Zuan and Antonio keep the magic crossbows loaded while one of our archers assigned to each one directs their fire.
---[X] Inge gets just close enough to target the Dragon with one of her Snowball spells just before we close to melee range, then she quickly runs back well out of range with Esha, Zaia, and the archers. She uses her Guiding Spirit ability to help hit the Dragon with her first spell. She refrains from using additional Snowballs unless the Dragon moves out of melee or tries to take flight.
----[X] After Inge returns to the ridge, she finds one of the archers using a magic crossbow and casts Guidance on him each round, or as many archers as she can if they're currently holding their fire.
---[X] Zaia stays with the ranged group, ready to quickly move to provide healing potions once the battle ends or if wounded are brought to him.

Yeah, I included Inge using Guidance before the fight. The short duration means she can't realistically keep it on everyone, but she should be able to time it so that the melee heavy hitters benefit.

As for the Bag of Sand to clog the Dragon's breath weapon, I don't think that's possible unless @DragonParadox gets creative with a ruling. The Dragon isn't actually all that big despite the danger it poses, so trying to hit a small-ish moving target while surrounded by melee fighters doesn't sound reasonable, IMO. At the very least, it would be considered using an improvised weapon and be further penalized for lack of Precise Shot.

I would just prefer to go with the attempted Pocket Sand Dirty Trick to Blind it for a round or two. That's much more likely to succeed because our spearmen all have Deft Maneuvers and they'll be benefiting from Tom's Coordinated Maneuvers and Aid Another for yet another +2 bonus.

Esha is a poor combatant, to say the least. She's super squishy and her spell selection leaves a lot to be desired for this sort of fight. I would rather keep her out of it completely. I've got Inge opening with a Snowball, but only because it's solid damage and has a decent chance to Stagger the Dragon, which would be extremely helpful in the opening of the fight. I've got Esha casting Expeditious Retreat on her so that she'll be able to get well away from the Dragon as soon as she Snowballs it, since she's not only squishy but extremely important to everyone's continued survival after this fight.

Would the nets prevent the dragon from taking flight? That's the worst thing that could happen right now

Hopefully. The Dragon isn't actually that strong, Silver and at least the Enlarged Knikut will have it beat in that department, so the nets, if they're successfully deployed, could conceivably keep it on the ground. There will be multiple people there to help the net wielders brace and hold it in place, plus getting its wings tangled, even if it isn't fully netted, could prevent it from flying.

There's also the fact that it is going to be surrounded by people trying to kill it with maximum possible violence, including Silver and the Enlarged Knikut, who in addition to being stronger will also be larger. Actually getting into the air won't be a simple matter, not with all of that to deal with. If Super Knikut does nothing else in the fight but grab hold of a leg or wing and not let go, he'll have been immensely helpful.

Right, so I think that if we manage to entangle and blind it, then it will have no chance against us. Our DPS should drop it in three rounds at most, right?

@Goldfish
If it's really more likely to try to burrow, perhaps explicitly specify in the plan that Enlarged Knikut is to also grapple/restrain it if it tries to escape by burrowing/flying?

On the Fly skill:

Check

You generally need only make a Fly check when you are attempting a complex maneuver. Without making a check, a flying creature can remain flying at the end of its turn so long as it moves a distance greater than half its speed.

It can take flight if it wants to. It won't do any complex maneuvers.

It still has to have the opportunity to take flight, and that's what we're trying to deny it. It can't just flap its wings one or twice and take off, it's too big and heavy for that, and it's flight maneuverability is only Average. It would need some forward momentum, at least a few running steps, and we can hopefully prevent that from happening.

It's going to be surrounded from the moment it wakes up from decades of forced sleep, with arrows and spells bombarding it, plus a Enlarged Knikut right in its face. Nets will be thrown at it from multiple angles, enchanted clubs, swords, and spears harrying it from all angles, Silver stomping with his murder-hooves, etc.

All told, I really hope this is an utter curbstomp and just a bit of excitement on our way toward not-Britain.

I really hope we finish him in a couple turns, really. I don't want to lose men over this.
