Age of Ice and Blood: A Pathfinder System Heroic Fantasy Quest

I think going to the hill without knowing what this is is a bad plan. Too high a likelihood of someone getting snared by whispers and waking the thing up.

The more I read, the more this feels like a definite gather aid and allies first kill, not something we can rush into and survive. I'm torn between going for an id via dreaming or just running for not-Albion asap and hoping we can find some allies and tools there.
In this case, we should at least try to glean something from attempting the dream option. If we're going to be away from a while afterward, I doubt there would be any danger in it detecting our presence now.

@Goldfish If we are going, would any of the talismans, like Nikure's Grace, be helpful? Maybe ask Zaia to lend his to Esha for the duration of the trip? Or is it just assumed PCs have them as required?

What do y'all think about asking Silver to do some dream scouting? He has the highest Will save among our group by a wide margin, plus as a Magical Beast, if it the monster detects his presence, it might just overlook him, or even better, try to get chatty and give away clues.

He could borrow Roland's amulet for added protection.

I wanna ask the holy goat about the terror. It might even help

That goat is almost certainly an asshole, and even more likely to be unable to communicate with us.

@DragonParadox, did the goat, Old Stone Horn I think the Otter called it, give amy indication of intelligence? Or did the Others give any clue to that effrct?

The goat is smart enough that it took over some of the prime grazing land along with its herd. According to the otters it leaves them alone but has some kind of grudge against the knikut. They have no idea what he did not attack you or at least try to drive you away, possibly he was wary of the armor or the horses.

Goats are bad enough, an elder goat with a grudge is even worse. I don't see any advantage to wasting time with him.

Think this could work, y'all?

[X] The path of dreams, know the foe by the temptations if offers
-[X] Silver, wearing Roland's Medallion of the Mind Sentinel and using his Nikare's Grace talisman. Not only is Silver of remarkably strong will, he is also something unique or so rare as to be nearly unique, a horse with the mind of a man. If the monster even notices his presence, it may fail to associate him with humans or the Otter folk.

I'm not so sure Silver would give more meaningful info compared to a simple scounting with our magic users.

[X] The path of seeking, travel to the hills where it lies sleeping and seek to catch a glimpse of it
-[X] Roland, Inge, Esha, Silver, 6 men-at-arms (2 spears, 2 nets, 2 archers), Tender, Watcher
-[X] The purpose is scouting, if it looks like the beast would be disturbed, fall back
-[X] If there is such supernatural danger that our magic users judge our man-at-arms and maybe Watcher to be at particular risk, they stay behind while others scout
-[X] Ask Inge to try to persuade gulls again for eyes in the sky
-[X] Just in case, Roland has his talismans of Nikure's Grace, Broken Arrow of the Mammoth Lord and Talisman of the Deep Roots, Inge has her Nikure's Grace, ask if Zaia is willing to lend his Nikure's Grace to Esha for the scouting

Would have my vote. Going into an area of potentially mind-tainting magics with +0 will save people just seems a recipe for disaster to me.

Checking in person only works if we have reasonable reason to think we can kill this thing. We don't.

Show these low Wis humans how it's done Silver :V

My main worry is that Silver does not have appropriate knowledge skills.
But otherwise sounds hilarious.
