Seems like the Thousand Sons are pulling ahead here, which I don't mind much. If there's one thing they have going for them, it's killer aesthetics. The Egyptian style looks and armour is to die for, and I'd be very interested in leaning into that sort of thing when deciding chapter culture.

Prologue - Character Creation 2
000. M31; Civilized World, 23-56, Named: 'Heruvia'; Colonel Olyseus Sichan of House Hydera

The Vox crackled to life and barked harshly the deep voice of a transhuman.

"This is Captain Antasein Invica of the Thousand Sons 4th Fellowship!"
"I repeat! This is Captain Antasein Invica of the Thousand Sons 4th Fellowship! Do you copy?!"

"Yes I hear you loud and clear Captain! This is Colonel Olyseus Sichan!"

"Good to hear Colonel! My men have been drop podded straight to the surface and the novelty of our surprise attack will wear off! In the meantime you must order the entirety of the Imperial Army's Artillery Guns, Batteries, and other such ballistics to bombard their fortress while the Astartes will carve a knife through their front for your men to advance with us!"

"I understand Captain, I will have the weapons ready!"

"Good! And happy hunting!"

The vox stilled but continued humming with the sound of distant commanders boxing commands and requests to each other across vast frontlines. Colonel Olyseus looked around his personal retinue and bodyguard and then stared at the Vox Officer, who stiffen into a straighter posture at the higher level of scrutiny from his commanding officer.

"Well then, what are you waiting for?! Get the damn Astartes the guns he needs, don't spare a single barrel or canon! I want enough munitions firing to blast their fortress straight into the warp! The rest of you, follow me! We are going through with the charge still, this time however, with the entire regiment pushing forth!" the Colonel rapidly barked orders at his men, returning to his rhythm of a battlefield officer.

"Aye sir!" repeated his men as they set themselves to the tasks given to them. Their humors risen at the though of a glorious charge straight into the enemies heart.

002. M31; Civilized World, 23-56, Named: 'Heruvia'; Sergeant Ortimos Jefi Sonkil of the 39th Heruvian Guard

Multiple blur of a crimson red afterimage passed through the wastelands of Heruvia. To the normal untrained eye, they were too fast to be human or seen, and thus would brushed off as simply the eyes playing tricks on them. But to the trained eye of a professional soldier with ocular augmetics and bionics with a pieces of vision enhancing equipment and gear on their headset it was doom, their doom, rushing towards. It was a 2 meter tall doom covered in thick crimson ceramite and pasteel with shoulder trims of gold. And this large hunk of ceramite and plasteel weighing around 1000 Kg was running 20 km/h.

Sergeant appreciated the information that his headset provided him of the oncoming transhuman, but he did appreciate its inability to stop one of the transhumans from stopping a mere meter from him before the red monster drew back its fist to smash through his skull. Chunks of bone, brain matter, and blood sprayed forth before the Sergeant could even raise his autogun to shoot a round at the transhuman, not that it wouldve damaged him anyways.

000. M31; Civilized World, 23-56, Named: 'Heruvia'; Captain Antasein Invica of the Thousand Sons 4th Fellowship

"Captain Invica," barked the crimson marine's headset. "Yes Lieutenant Amed Shukr?" The giant clad in red responded as he rushed towards the nearest Trench network to clear out.
"Please refrain from unnecessary actions to show off in the middle of a battlezone," replied the officer in a tired tone implying that this wasnt the first he has had to say it.

"I have no idea what you mean Lieutenant, it was a perfectly necessary action considering the circumstances," Invica would then jump into the trench network rushing through and using his .75 'Gentau' Pattern Bolt Pistol on semi-auto to blow chunks off the mortal men while using his power fist to smash any who got close enough to him into a red and silver mist of blood and iron.

Throughout the cleansing of the trenches and bunker systems you make sure to always keep an eye out on Shukr's newly initiated squad of Space Marines. Their armor and minds fresh from the Stormbird that brought them to a voidship off of the planet of Prospero. Their struggles and their attempts to impress you under your watchful gaze as they clear through the mortal soldiers brings a grin to your face. They bring back fond memories of when you yourself were a newly initiated Astartes at ....

Background:
-[] The day you were tithed for the Legion.

Background: Of the 1000 Sons

You were one of the 1000 students-aspirants tithed by the Emperor from the noble houses loyal to the Lord of Terra. You were given the chance for you were one of the few students of the former Achaemenid Empire. You remember the glorious days of being led by the Emperor during Unification of the Cradle of Mankind. And you remember with pride when the Emperor would announce his Great Crusade to the assembled Astartes and sent the legions towards the void to bring back humanity together as you did on Terra.

+1 Loyalty towards the Imperium,

-[] The arrival of the Magnus on Prospero

Background: The Awed Student.

You remembered the day the Magnus arrived on the planet of Prospero. His crimson and golden radiance and psychic power dwarfing yours and everyone on the planet. In his presence and in the presence of your future primarch you fell to your knees. From that moment you knew your duty and would be one of the first of the Prosperines to join the Legion, you dedicated yourself to your Primarch's vision of spreading Truth and Knowledge through the stars and the banishment of Old Night.

-[] Your ravenous hunger for Knowledge.

Background: The Determined Sage

You were of many Prosperine students desperately craving seeking knowledge to grow your psychic abilities. But unlike the others you had an iron will and determination. Your ascension to Astartes amongst the legion was but another step for you and your pursuit of higher knowledge and power. You crave the arcane secrets of this world and you will stop at nothing to get them.
Even if it means bargaining with darker powers ...

-1 Loyalty towards the Imperium
,

Invica's thoughts turn away from the past and refocus on the present. His gaze scrutinizing his surroundings and then the new Astartes. They stiffen and stand to attention at your gaze, but you know soon enough they will not be in such stiff postures in the future after a few decades of combat. Invica would also note that to the recruits this would be their crucible, but Invica knew better than that, for this planet would not try them as future campaigns. They were at the least blooded, but their true worth as scholar-warriors was still to be tested under a true trial of combat. The thoughts bring you further to the past to the trial that distinguished your worth as a captain of the 4th Fellowship when you ...

-[] Lead a charge into a furious melee straight into the enemies' center that butchered and slaughtered the enemy, leaving only chunks of crushed bone, carved flesh, and splattered blood in your furious wake. (+1 Weapon Skill)

-[] Organized your men to rain bolter fire upon the unsuspecting enemy until their barrels steamed vapor and were bright red, and when you inspected what was left of the enemy you only found chunks of meat, half torn bodies, and fragments of your bolt rounds left from your men's barrage. (+1 Ballistic Skill)

-[] Crashed in a stormbird alongside your men and survived behind enemy lines for months until you reached the front. (+1 Toughness)

-[] Directed a forward reconnaissance and scouting missions alongside your men to seek the foe's weakness to exploit in your upcoming campaign. (+1 Agility)

-[] Attuned your senses to seek out the foe, utilizing your Astartes and psychic abilities to divine ambushes well into advance. (+1 Perception)

-[] Fervously studied not just the arcane but the enemy aswell, divining and seeking knowledge of their nature for your to make plans that shattered them into a thousand pieces. (+1 Intelligence)

-[] Controlled and bent the energies of the arcane to your will and utilized them to boil the very blood of the enemy and watched as they writhed in pain and dropped dead without you having to fire a single bolt. (+1 Willpower)

-[] Convinced the enraged lord of a planet, read to make war, to join the Imperium peacefully. You used your charm, flowery language, and eloquent etiquette to great. (+1 Fellowship)

Your thoughts drift back to the present as you realize you and the Astartes under your command have cleared the bunker and its connected trench networks. Soon your hear the clatter of armor, groaning of treads, and the shouts of orders and commands. In their wake massive barrages of molten shells, rockets, munitions, and whatever ballistic weapons that are available are launched from the rear onto the Citadel leveling towers, burying bunkers, and closing trenches as their occupants hurriedly rush to find safety from their imminent demise.

"It seems that the Imperial Army have arrived. Took the bastards long enough," sneered Sergeant Jabur. "You musn't be so hard on them, Jabur. They work so very hard despite not having the augmentations of us Astartes," replied Veteran Sergeant Kasmir Hanuta to the other Sergeant's snide remarks. "Will you two quit it? We are in the presence of the Captain and Lieutenant" angrily commanded the Support Sergeant Karakera.

"It's alright men, I know we have our collars risen from the drop pods veering off course but so far there have been no casualties from the 1st Section and we are progressing at a great pace," Invica stated to calm his men before another argument ensued.

"But Captain, do you really expect the 4th Fellowship to conquer the entire planet?" Asked one of the greenhorns of Jabur's squad. "Yes I do expect the 4th to be fully capable of ensuring the Compliance of a world such as this," the Captain responded immediately and then continuing on to the rest of the company, "but we shall not waste precious time on its compliance when there are other matters to attend to. We need only to shatter the Citadel in front of us so that the Imperial Army has a hole to swarm through."

The Crimson clad transhumans would then correct their posture as new resolved flowed through them from their Captain's belief in them. They could very well take on the whole planet's military, but not without grievous cost. Grievous cost that their legion especially amongst others could not accept especially when the flesh-change was taking so many of their numbers. And so it was, the Astartes of the 4th would ready themselves for their final push ahead, straight into the enemy fortress to shatter their lines. And through such actions the compliance of the planet would be guaranteed and the dominion of the Imperium will grow and the arrogance of the Heruvians will be put down for good.

I have a feeling that as a psyker, the Perception stat is quite a bit more potent than as a non-psyker

I'd rather have a Prosperan that stays loyal rather than yet another Terran, even if it isn't "optimal".
