You really hate long car rides. There's just nothing fun to do, and you're so excited that keeping still is practically torture. It's been over a year since you got to see either of your brothers!
For lack of anything else to do, you've been meditating the way Dad has been teaching you since you were a little girl, using the ki-refining method central to your martial art, The Terrestrial Dragon Style.
The way Dad tells it, his grandpa discovered fragments of an ancient scroll while traveling in China, and recognized it as an instructive treatise on an amazing martial art called the Celestial Dragon Style.
The fragments your great-grandpa found detailed a unique method of refining ki and attuning it to the natural elements of the world: fire, earth, wind, water and wood. Supposedly, this method was meant to prepare the martial artist to learn the higher secrets of the art, wherein one would mimic the dragon's ability to shape the world around it and to transcend the material to grasp the essence of Heaven.
But not only were those higher secrets lost, so was the method for attuning ki to the element of wood. Without that, the method was incomplete and didn't work properly: the four remaining elements could not be used as one the way they were meant to, and your great-grandpa could only use an element's techniques by attuning to it separately. He taught the style to his son, and then to Dad, and Dad has taught it to you, but none of you has been able to successfully recreate the Path of the Wood Dragon in its entirety. You haven't even been able to start
trying.
Your current meditation is attuning your body to:

"All right sweetie, here we are," Dad announces as the car pulls to a stop. "Nerima Ward, Ono Clinic."
"Yes!" you whoop enthusiastically, practically leaping out of the car to get your first look at your new home for a little while.
Standing outside of the slightly old fashioned-looking building is a man in his mid to late twenties. He's got big glasses and a nerdy-looking face, but he's clearly built like a martial artist and he has a kind smile.
"Tensei-sensei, it's been too long," he says as he shakes hands with Dad. "It must have been… almost ten years since I last saw you, I think."
"It's good to see you again, Tofu-kun," Dad says warmly. "Oh, I probably shouldn't call you that at your age, huh?"
"Oh, it's fine, Sensei. You taught me so much about Wu Xing and using my ki to heal, it wouldn't feel right if you suddenly became formal with me," the younger man says with a chuckle before turning his head to see you. "And you must be Ryuko-chan. You've
really grown. You probably don't remember, but I met you once when you were about five years old."
"Nope; don't remember it," you say honestly. "Nice to meet you, though, Tofu-sensei! Thanks a lot for agreeing to let me stay with you. I promise I don't snore!"
That gets a laugh out of Tofu-sensei. "That's a weight off my mind. I was worried you'd take after Tensei-sensei in that regard."
"Hmph. Bunch of ingrates," Dad mutters with his arms crossed, though the smile on his face makes it obvious he isn't serious. "See if I help you unpack, then."
"That's fine, I've got it!" you say brightly, running back to the car and popping the trunk. You quickly grab all of your suitcases and balance them on one hand. "So where do I put these?"
"Hah. She certainly takes after you, Sensei," Tofu-sensei notes. "I'll lead you to the guest room where you'll be sleeping, Ryuko-chan. Follow me."
With help from Tofu-sensei (and Dad, the liar), you quickly unpack your things in a rather nice guest room.
As you put up your mirror, you take a moment to take in your reflection.

That done, you all break for tea and rice crackers.
"Ryuko-chan, I've been meaning to ask you about something," Tofu-sensei says as the three of you are sitting around his table. "Just why were you willing to move all the way here to live with a stranger and transfer schools just to see Ranma again?"
"Because he's my brother!" you declare happily.
Tofu-sensei spits out the tea he had been in the middle of drinking, spraying it all over Dad. "Wh-What!?" he coughs. "Sensei, you-!"
"No!" Dad yells indignantly, slapping the younger man on the side of the head. "Are you insane!?"
"But, if he's-"
"We swore an oath and everything!" you finish.
"… Oh. So, you… er…" Tofu-sensei stutters. He gives your father a sheepish smile before going to get the paper towels.
"Honestly, as if any woman insane or desperate enough to have a kid with that thieving rat Genma could ever be worth cheating on my wife for… Probably cracks mirrors when she looks in them…" Dad mutters as he wipes his face.
"Dad, we talked about this," you remind him sternly. "Don't be mean."
"Ehehehe, sorry sweetie," Dad apologizes, rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish smile. "Just a… little joke is all. So where did you say that Ranma's been staying, Tofu-kun?"
Tofu-sensei smiles at your dad's attempt to change the subject. "They're staying at the Tendo Dojo. Apparently Ranma-kun's father and Soun-sensei are old friends from their days as students."
"So where's the Tendo Dojo?" you ask excitedly. "I can't wait to show Ranma how much stronger I've gotten!"
"I don't think you'll find him there," Tofu-sensei replies. "He should be in class right now at Furinkan High School. How about I give you directions to both places, though, just in case?"
"Thanks, Sensei," you say with a beaming smile. You can tell you'll get along just fine with him.
Actually, he's a martial artist, too, isn't he? Maybe you can train with him sometime.
Where will you go?
[ ] Furinkan High School
Head straight to Ranma!
[ ] The Tendo Dojo
You probably shouldn't barge in at a high school and bother Ranma while he's in class. You can meet the people he's staying with and wait for him there. Maybe Uncle Genma will be there, too! He's always really funny.
