Reunion With Ryoga
[ ] No, wait, forget that for a minute

"Wait! Ryoga's here, too!?" you yell, shocked and excited. Could it really be that easy to get both of your brothers back?

"Uh… well, he was. But that was a week ago, so who knows where he ended up," Ranma says. "Also, he was kinda… acting weird."

"Weird? How?" you ask.

"Well, he was acting like he did back before you made us start getting along. You know, acting like we were mortal enemies or something," he explains. "Said something about 'I saw hell looking for you, you asshole' or something, but you know him; can't explain himself for crap when he works himself into a lather like that."

"Oh no… I think I know what might have happened," you say, hanging your head. "After you left, Ryoga said he just couldn't stand leaving it like that, and he wanted to fight you one last time, so he went after you…"

"And got completely lost the moment you lost sight of him," Ranma finishes with a sigh. "Yeah, that sounds about right. But what could have happened to make him act like that? It's not like he usually gets mad at us for stuff like that."

"I don't know… But I know how to find out," you say, your voice filled with determination. "We have to find our brother!"

"… You remember who we're talking about, right?" Ranma asks coolly. "Since when have we ever found Ryoga while he's lost except by blind luck?"

"Well we can't just let it go on like this!" you retort. "We swore an oath and everything!"

"I'm really glad you're willing to help Ryoga-kun, Ryuko-chan, but Ranma… kind of sounds like he has a point," Akane-chan says, causing you to notice that she doesn't use any honorifics for Ranma. He doesn't seem to mind either. Are they that close…?

Wait, stop, you can work on that later.

"Geez, it sounds wrong saying that," Akane-chan says, making a sour face.

"Tch. Brat," Ranma mutters.

"Look, I know it'll be hard, but we can't just let Ryoga wander alone, angry about something we don't even know about," you say. "He'd do everything he could for us, right? No matter how long it takes, we need to find him!"

"Ranma-kun, your friend Ryoga-kun is here to see you!" Kasumi-san calls out from the front door.

"…"

"…"

"…"

"… Score one for blind luck," Ranma says under his breath.

"… let me know if you want some tea, alright Ryoga-kun?" Kasumi-san says as she leads your oldest brother into the room.

"Uh, thank you, Tendo-san," you hear Ryoga say awkwardly. He never was very good at social stuff.

"Oh, it's nothing Ryoga-kun. You all have fun, okay?" Kasumi-san says before leaving you all.

As soon as she's gone, Ryoga steps forward. "Okay, Ranma, I know we've got a lot to talk about, but first-"

"RYOGA!" you yell, tackling Ryoga with a hug just like you did to Ranma. Ryoga, though, is able to stay on his feet despite the surprise.

"Wh-Ryuko!?" he exclaims.

"I was so worried it'd take years to find you!" you cry, tearing up a little.

"Ryuko!" he yells happily, returning the hug.

"Ach! Too much, too much!"

"Sorry, sorry!"

Coughing a bit to clear your airways after Ryoga's overenthusiastic hug, you beam at him. "It's fine, I'm just so glad I found you both so fast!"

"Both? Oh yeah…" Ryoga trails off, apparently remembering the two of you aren't alone in this room. A serious look crosses his face as he stares at Ranma and Akane-chan. He stands to his full height over the two sitting teens.

"Look, Ryoga, I-" Ranma begins, but Ryoga cuts him off.

"It needs to wait, Ranma. I'm still pissed at you, but there's something more important I need to deal with," he says, fixing his stare firmly on Akane-chan.

"Uh… okay?" she says.

Ryoga sits down so that he's level with her, then bows his head deeply. "I let my anger blind me, and because of that I almost hurt you. I just want to say that I'm sorry. I know I don't deserve your forgiveness, but…"

"Huh? Oh, right, the hair thing," Akane-chan says, patting the ends of her short hair. "It's alright. I mean, I was pretty steamed when it happened, but I think it was about time I get it cut anyway."

"Wh- I could have killed you!" Ryoga yells.

"But you didn't," she answers simply. "Just promise you'll be more careful in the future, okay?"

Ryoga stares at her, seemingly lost in thought. Then he seems to realize what he's doing and his face blushes redder than a tomato and he bows his again, as much out of embarrassment as anything. "I swear I will. Thank you."

"I feel like I'm missing something," you comment.

"Not really. Ryoga just did something stupid while he was mad. As usual," Ranma says dryly. "I swear he's like a wild boar when he gets ma-"

"You bastard!" Ryoga yells without warning, grabbing Ranma by his collar. "How dare you make fun of-"

"Stop that!" you demand, bopping Ryoga on the head hard enough that even he can feel it. "What's gotten into you!?"

"I got dragged through hell, and it's all his fault!" Ryoga retorts.

"Okay, seriously, I have no idea what you're talking about!" Ranma says. "And let go of my shirt, you're gonna ruin the elastic."

Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Ryoga lets go of Ranma's shirt. "Fine, I'll tell you what happened.

---

I had been journeying for months, looking for Ranma so that we could have our final duel, as men and brothers…

"You mean so I could kick your ass again and make the record an even 40 wins, 20 losses, and 20 draws?" Ranma cuts in with a smirk.

"Shut up! I'm catching up! Anyway…"

I had finally gotten back on track after making a wrong turn at Ho Chi Minh City and-"

"Wait, Ho Chi Minh City? What would you be doing there?" Akane-chan asks.

"Trust me, it would only make sense to Ryoga," Ranma says.

"Will you just let me tell the damn story!?"

Ahem. I had been hearing about two people matching Ranma and Genma-san's descriptions for a few days now, and as I found a huge valley filled with hot springs of various sizes and shapes, surrounded by mountains, I felt as though I had finally caught up to my wayward brother.

"Wayward? You're the one who got lost," you note.

"… You too, Ryuko?"

"Sorry."

*sigh* Anyway, I stood triumphantly atop a rocky outcropping, looking out for Ranma. When all of a sudden… I was knocked off the rock by a leaping panda and onto another, lower one right in front of one of the springs.

"A… leaping panda?" you ask.

"Wait…" Ranma says, thinking of something.

"Oh, no way…" Akane-chan whispers.

As I was recovering from that fall, a red-haired girl with a ponytail jumped on my head and used it as a platform, which knocked me right into one of the springs!

"Oh, crap…"

"Wait… springs? China? Ryoga, did you…?" you begin to ask.

"And ever since that day, I've been cursed!" Ryoga finishes, his voice and anger rising as he speaks. "Whenever cold water splashes me, I transform into a damn piglet! Do you have any idea how dangerous it is to be a piglet in some of the places I end up in!? I've brushed with Death so often I could probably pickpocket the guy and he wouldn't even notice!"

Ryoga's angry gesturing as he monologues causes his arm to catch a vase filled with flowers in water, knocking it over. The water splashes onto…

You know what would be hilarious? If it turns out that Ryuko of all the people who entered the springs and transformed actually did it on purpose. After all her family has been trying to complete their style for generations, and since it is based on a Dragon, Ryuko had the bright idea that becoming one gives some insight on how to finish the Wood Aspect.

[X] Ranma

Turning into a dragon, as hilarious as it might be, could destroy the house when we're in it.

I fully support this head canon.

I think we're more likely to be a dragon like this
than like this
It fits the comedy theme a bit better and it seems too early in the quest for Liengod to throw a choice that results in death so early on in the quest.

Ryuko's still young, and the transformation fits the age. She'd probably be whatever size a juvenile dragon is.

You know, it occurs to me that we swore an oath of brotherhood despite being a girl, making us their brother, and presumably it was an oath of brotherhood rather than an oath of sisterhood because two of the three people involved were male.

Now, if Ranma turns into a girl, that means that the female members of the oath outnumber the male members... so it would become an oath of sisterhood. Making Ryoga our sister while Ranma is transformed.

Yes, this logic makes perfect sense. We must address Ryoga as our older sister whenever Ranma is a girl.

In any case, I want to see their reactions when they realize that they turn into a piglet and a woman, and we got to be a dragon.

I just hope it's not too silly...

I for one welcome this head canon and pray for it to be true.
