A Song of Lion's, Stag's and Heroes (NO SV, You are Joffery!)

Joffrey 2: The Prince of The Palace
Joffrey 2: The Prince of The Palace:

Do you take part in Maester Pycelle's Lessons:
-[X]Yes (Gain a chance to pick up a trait, or gain something new) Rolled: D100 => 51

Maester Pycelle was very happy that you had taken an interest in your studies for the realm, and quietly droned on about things that you already knew about.

When you tried to tell him about such matters, you were… reminded that your Grandfather knew everything about the West.

You needed to know everything about Westeros properly. And that meant… studying.

Reward: You study with MAester Pycelle, but do not learn, or do something that you don't already know.

He just says Practice, Makes perfect.

Lord's of the Small Council Updated.

Hand of the King: Lord/Honorary Nuncle Jon Arryn (You trust him with your life, and your father does as well)

Lord Commander of the Kingsguard: Barristan "The Bold" Selmy. (The Greatest Knight alive, save for Uncle Jaime, who still looks at you weirdly whenever you are both alone, and telling you the story on why he slayed the mad king..)

Master of Laws: Mace Tyrell: A token position for the former Lord Paramount of the Reach, now of the North March. Everyone knows he's not the real power behind his family… it is his mother. Unfortunately, none of his family are here in the city… because they despise your father.

Lord Treasurer:Lord/Uncle Kevan Lannister (Your… least favorite uncle. At least Gerion is Entertaining, and brings you treats and sweets, and tells tales of his travels in the east)

Grand Maester: Pycelle "The Wise" (A self given title perhaps, but he is more "Lecherous" than Wise)

Master of Whispers: Varys "The Spider" (He Frightens you… like every time you think you're alone… your not.)

Master of Ships: Lord Paxter Redwyne (He's… well, your father wished to bring Roddick Harlow to court, but the Reader refused, citing he wished to stay close to his family… and keep Balon on Good behavior.)

-[X]The Prince of the Palace: You wish to spend time with your servants, the cooks, the stablehands… even the old guards who are retired, and train with the master at arms. Rolled: D100 => 94+10=104

The Palace was full of people that most of the nobles at court just ignored, or gave the barest of attention when they needed it.

You despised that, because there were so many good people who were easy to talk to.

"So Joff." The cooks son, Will asked as he sat in the sun, as you sat in the shade of the gardens willow. "Are you sure that they would accept me being your… companion?"

"They either will, or i will make them. Why is Sara not here right now, is her mother busy?" You asked.

"Sara is attending to your mother." He replied.

Blast, so much for that. "Wonderful, so much for trying to steal the messages from Pycelle."

"Why are you so interested in spending time with us milord." Will asked. "We're not exactly highborn."

"It's precisely why I spend time with you. The entire court is blisteringly dull, and all they do is talk to me like I have no understanding of the world around me. And I do. You speak to me plainly, and for that, I enjoy you and Sara's company."

That and your father never really… tried to spend time with you. He was so busy, either hunting, managing the realm… or trying to manage the realm. He always went hunting because it helped him think of the problems that would arise, and come up with new ideas.

"Thank you, your grace." Will replied.

"It's Joff to you, but only when my mother is not around." You stated.

Well… that's two off the list, now for the stable boy and his brothers, Jon… Pate… and Pate of the West Wall.

Then there were the cooks and guards.

Why were there so many Pates!

Reward: You have a large network of friends in the Palaces' servenets and children of workers.

They really like you.

For actions within King's Landing and the red Keep, all actions gain +10 to the rolls.

-[X]The White Knights: Ser Barristan Selmy and his kingsguard are men who are among the greatest knights of the Seven Kingdoms. You wish to gain an opportunity to learn from these men. Rolled: D100 => 20+20=40

The Kingsguard were out in the Kingswood, to help your father deal with a bandit problem, who had threatened to kidnap one of Lord Massey's Daughters.

Well, it would be a great tale… if only they would listen and allow you to listen to them.

Failure.

-[X]A Spider's Web: you will follow the Spider, and see what he does. Rolled: D100 => 34-20=14

Varys quietly smiled as you were discovered.

"Boy princes are so curious, but I warn you Joffrey, that sometimes, Curiosity is something that must be controlled… if you do not… wish to fall."

Varys said those words… and they shook you to your very core.

Failure.

The Spider Scares you.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Your father is preparing for a great meeting within the Red Keep, and you are supposed to remain in attendance…

You however, only learn that the event is… very important.

What is the Event:

[]Your Name Day: Your father wants to make your 6th name day something special, and is hosting a tournament, along with an offer to many of the lord's of the realm… To make an offer to foster you elsewhere in the Realm.

[]Grandfather is Coming: Tywin Lannister is coming to King's Landing, to air his grievances, and to offer ideas to make the crown wealthier. Something about establishing a sort of… Trade Treaty with that all of Westeros would abide by.

[]Reveal Statue of Ser Jaime: Your Uncle is gaining a Marble Statue in the city, the Merchants would always remember the Kingslayer, who saved the city.

[]The Iron Bank: The Iron Bank… wishes to make a deal, to loan money to Westeros… The problem is, They are… coming with an entire fleet to make an offer.

[]The Royal Armies Drill: Once a Year, since the Army was created, it would drill around the city, with all regiments from all over Westeros taking part in it. And it was a show that everyone loved to see.

[]A Royal Progress: You father would begin a royal progress, and you would be given your first taste of responsibility.

AN: Enjoy.

[X]Your Name Day: Your father wants to make your 6th name day something special, and is hosting a tournament, along with an offer to many of the lord's of the realm… To make an offer to foster you elsewhere in the Realm.

Our family is pretty darn terrible, and we don't want to, you know, destroy the realm.

The ballsless little shit should watch himself or he might just trip down some stairs just mentioning what he said to cersei or tywin and he is fucked

[X]Grandfather is Coming: Tywin Lannister is coming to King's Landing, to air his grievances, and to offer ideas to make the crown wealthier. Something about establishing a sort of… Trade Treaty with that all of Westeros would abide by.

Money is important and i want to stay in kings landing

This has really no benefits except making Jamie feel better about himself which doesnt really matter at all

Pretty sure it´ll help the Westerosi people to see Jamie as the Shining Knight he is or at least can be with just a little prodding...might usher in a new age of *proper* chivalry for the Realm, for all we know.

Id much rather just go for the money and connections teh trade will do than make Jaime better or make chivalry more important

Would love to see the result of this clash,Braavosi presence on Westeros once again,Essosi politicking with the most powerful free city, want to actually bring the neighbouring continent to the board along with some good writing and development for them.

Want to see the Sea Lord and all the gang appear and show off their power to Westeros.

If the Lannisters and the other meddling nobility end up dealing with even more factions on the court that's a victory for us all.

You see, with Viserys wandering around becoming the next coming of Ceaser (not the magnificent bastard of Exiled Dragons), and Volantis deciding they are in the Empire business again...

Having a martial focused ally whom are very good at warring and are proven military badasses is something that may make them feel... safer.

Bravvos isn't really... that much more powerful then Westeros. At least in certain areas, most prominently, population-wise, allies wise and leadership-wise.

Bravvos is not a military power. In a war, where Westeros has time on it's side... they will lose. Because Westeros has everything that Bravvos does not, in bulk.

They may be wealthier on average and have the most powerful fleet in this side of the World... but if any invasion force reaches Bravvos properly... they're fucked.

Because their heartlands are not filled with massive fortifications, and their military lands are more backed by mercenaries then citizen soldiers.

And Westeros has a larger fleet, if you add in the ironborn, and they are reliable. However, you are correct, Bravvos is strong, and in a quick war, can win.

If it's a war where Westeros decides to go all in.

Bravvos will be destroyed. Permanently.

Their power is in wealth and economic power.

and faceless men.

However, they are not as strong as you think they are, as stated above.

One problem with that.

Westeros, against foreign adversaries, will always present a unified front... at least while Robert is alive.

Man had an intricate and elaborate comment to answer each one of your points but my tablet went caput and lost with the power save.

Braavos is still hellish to invade, they have a sizable fleet that has been growing along with their wealth over the years, they can just send several faceless men to Westeros to eliminate the figureheads and few would have it in their hands to stopped them they are just that overpowered plus with the Iron Bank as their institution they can sabotage most of the world economies that are dependant to them.

That Braavosi armies fight with a unique stance know as Water dance is a problem to anyone that faces them, land armies of mercenaries could also be hired at any moment.

Point is toying with Braavos even with a Westeros United is still a dangerous game, with the other free cities threatened by the Triarch of Volantis more territories and government might seek Braavosi guidance for good or ill.

And yep the Sea lord is more a ceremonial figure than anything else yet he moves a finger and all the engine of the most powerful Free city moves on command, far too many tools at his disposal the guy has.

Once again I shall say this.

They are powerful.

But against Bobby B and his crew, they will have a very tough time of it.

Esspecially a Bobby B who is bloodlusted and does not care about what might happen.

I know you will likely won't do it cause is boring and an easy resource for the narrative but couldn't the Braavosi surely just sent an experienced faceless to kill King Robert on his sleep?

It could not be that tough,The Targaryens shit themselves when the Sealord threatened them with this same strategy.

Also will the Braavosi dragon eggs sold by the Farman girl on canon play a role on the story if this option plays out?Or did something happen to them in lore that I likely don't remember?

Edit quote from the wiki about the incident with the eggs:

Using the name "Alys Westhill", Elissa Farman sailed to Braavos and sold three dragon eggs to the Sealord in 54 AC. Elissa used the funds to commission Sun Chaser, which she used to explore the Sunset Sea two years later.[7] Septon Barth, the Hand of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, came to Braavos to discuss the matter of the stolen dragon eggs. Barth threatened Braavos with dragonfire should the eggs hatch; in return, the Sealord threatened to send the Faceless Men to assassinate the Targaryens. In the end, the Sealord denied having the eggs, but he agreed to forgive the Iron Throne's debts to the Iron Bank of Braavos.[8]

Two problems with that, one is narratively, the other is What the Sea Lord Wants.

For the Narrative, Bobby B has plot armor for a little while longer, and if facelessmen came after him... well... he'll live until... it no longer protects him. And Bobby is not really wanting anything to do with the Bravvosi, and has no reasons to agree to anything they offer him.

2. You don't want what the sealord is offering. Like seriously, what they are offering/threatening him with... is something totally ridiculous that no sane man would ever accept.

Especially a man like bobby who has done a lot to enrich his country and protect his country, with his policies.

Policies that have made Bravvos lose their monopoly on the world's wealth, even with the West no longer having their infinite gold mines anymore.

Plus the Iron Bank has lost considerable influence in the affairs of the world... because Westerosi gold is not leaving Westeros into their bank, because no one in Westeros, is taking loans from them.

Remember all the Free cities Bobby Decreed that you all choose. This is the response.

Westeros is gaining all the money from their own trade, and building new industries instead of exporting. Basically starting a new order on the continent.

And everyone is shitting bricks and are willing to use what leverage they have in the short term... to just make it stop and try to go back to the way things were.

They can't kill bobby, because then... regency, and Tywin and Jon Arryn are all for making new sources of money for the Crowns coffers.

And if the regents keep on getting assassinated when... you know, by facelessmen?

That is how blood feuds start.

And how cities get razed to the ground.
Also will the Braavosi dragon eggs sold by the Farman girl on canon play a role on the story?Or did something happen to them in lore that I likely don't remember?
Actually, They don't have them.

They lost them to the Golden Company.

I'm just not showing my entire hand yet, that vote might not win, and I want to keep some surprises.

Edit: You asked for a broken Canon. I'm giving you a broken canon.
