"Welcome back to Westfall. We have grass, grass, grass and some grass." Dawn snarked as we rode across the bridge from Elwynn Forest and into Westfall.

I grinned. "Be nice, Dawn. They also have two trees and a bunch of bandits."

"Yes, much better. That only mean we can't be asleep while riding through. Joy."

I shook my head my head as I smiled "Somebody is in a mood today..." I said while glancing around. I did have a point...sure, I did not exactly expect to be jumped by bandits five minutes from the local army garrison, but it didn't hurt to keep a look around.

A sudden arrow to the back hurts like a bitch and I speak from experience here.

Dawn shrugged "Just a bit annoyed to need to be back in my armor. I really enjoyed getting out of it while in Stormwind. I haven't taken it off other than for bed since."

I enjoy it when you get out of your armor too.

I did not just think that! Bloody hell, admitting that I liked her to myself like that was like it opened the damn floodgates with the mental comments.

Stupid brain.

Now when I'm thinking it, is only a question of time before something slips out that I don't want to slip out.

I might have had to admit to myself that I love her, but that don't mean that I need to tell her. Even with it just being in my head, things were plenty complex enough without her also finding out how I felt about her.

"You are the one that wanted to leave," I then answered. "Besides, no real reason you can't change out of it when we stay at an inn."

She smiled, "That's true."

Raising my left arm I started to access my omnitool to start to try to figure out exactly how to translate 'Blink' into a spell I could actually use.

Not like math or anything was useful for it, but it did help to write down notes on my thought process. I did get some preliminary work done on it while in Stormwind, but nothing serious...and something tell me that a teleport ability, if short range and according to the book disorienting, would be really useful to know.

Dawn glanced back at me after a while "Do you think we will have room to practice magical dueling while in Westfall?"

I frowned slightly and shrugged, "As long as we don't burn down someone's field, I don't see why not. Better here than any of the other areas we will be traveling through, anyway. This place might have bandits, but better bandits than giant spiders. Bandits are unlikely to try to jump a couple of mages."

She half turned in front of me and grinned, "That is true. We are pretty badass, aren't we?"

"Always a bigger fish, Dawnie. Always a bigger fish." I told her, intentionally using the disliked name, making sure to deflate her ego a bit.

I may love her, but a good teacher punctures the ego of the student from time to time. It keeps them alive.

The former Key sighed but nodded "Yes, I know..."

A couple of days later we left the main path after a final night at an inn. We followed a narrow path before moving off that as well, out onto the plains, hours away from the closest farm.

"Here?" Dawn finally asked as the Kodo continued forward through the tall grass. The sun was slowly setting, we could just about make out a glimmer of blue in the distance, revealing the sea.

I looked up from my omnitool and glanced around. "It should be good enough. Over there I think," I then said, pointing over by a couple of trees at the base of a small hill.

She nodded and guided the large animal in that direction while looking around "Well...at least it won't be hard to find food for Mr Fluffsy."

Smiling, I closed down my omnitool ,"Better to tie him up good so he doesn't overeat. Getting our mount sick...would be bad."

Well, I could just summon a new one, but it would make Dawn sad. I'm afraid to say it, but I admit that the walking mountain of stupid has grown on me too.

"So, what exactly do I do?" Dawn then asked as she brought the mount to a halt before sliding down from the saddle to the ground "I mean, to get the connection?"

"Do exactly what you didn't last time. Well, unless you want to do it the same way as then?" I answered, jumping off of Mr Fluffsy.

Damn it. I should not even be thinking that name. I blame Dawn.

She shuddered at that thought and quickly shook her head, looking slightly ill at the idea ."No! No, I'm good. I think learning to do it the proper way is important."

"Well, good to know that we agree," I said, trying not to sound to much like I said 'I told you so' "Best way I have figured out to get the connection is to simply walk around, feel the wind, listen to the grass. Take off your shoes if possible."

Dawn slowly nodded and bound Mr Fluffsy to the closest tree before we started to unload his packing crates, "Well, I'm changing out of my armor as soon as the tent is up. I don't see any bandits wandering around out here, so far from any roads with merchants to rob."

I nodded, "Yeah, it should be safe enough. Even if you happen on some bandits, you look harmless enough that they should not attack you instantly. Enough time to pull some dire wolves out."

She grinned ."Harmless?"

I shook my head as I used some telekinesis to help lower the crates of supplies of the large animal. No need to lift them the heavy way when not in public. "I said 'look harmless'. Not 'is harmless'," I said before I unlocked the crate and started to pull out the fabric of the tent. "Now get your cute arse in gear, I want to get the tent up before it get dark."

A second later I mentally kicked myself. I did not just say that.

I glanced at Dawn. She looked like the cat that ate the canary. Yes, Yes I did. Well, at least she is not drawing any more attention to what I sai...

"Cute ass, huh?" Dawn asked with a playful grin while moving to help me unpack the large tent.

Too damn observant.

"Gah! I. Am. So. Bored!" Dawn complained as she collapsed back against her bedroll.

I just sighed and flipped a page in my book. It had started to rain the day after we set up camp and had been raining cats and dogs for three days. At this point I was just glad that the tent fabric was enchanted or we would be swimming at this point.

Also, we put it up a small bump in the earth next to a small hill and a couple of trees, meaning that at least water flowed away from us and not into the tent. Even then I had used some Red mana to get and shape a large rock I found nearby into a pair of foot high stone slabs, large enough to sleep on. Just to get off the ground... and if you covered them with a layer of grass before putting your bedroll on them, they wasn't even hard.

Honestly, even sleeping on a grass covered rock, bedrolls are more practical than hammocks. Less of a chance to fall out of the in the middle of the night if nothing else.

"Don't you have meditating to do or whatever it do when you 'commune with the spirits'?" I asked her.

Dawn shook her head and slipped of her 'bed' and walked over to peek out of the tent. I tried not to look as she was wearing that shirt of mine, even if she had put on a knee length skirt to go with it.

Giving her more ammunition to tease me with would be something to avoid if I could.

"I have done that for two days after I ran out of everything else to do!" she complained before peaking out into the rain "Poor Mr Fluffsy. He have been out in the rain all this time. "

I honestly doubted the Kodo gave any amount of fucks about the rain. Last time I saw it, it had a mouthful of grass and looked like it was having the time of it's life.

"No, he do not get to come in. He wouldn't fit anyway. " I quickly said before she got any ideas.

Dawn sighed and pouted "I was not going to suggest it. " She said before she walked over and sat down on her 'bed', crossing her legs.

Sure you weren't.

"Well, I'm thankful you found this thing anyway. " She then commented and looked up at the glowing red sphere hanging from the ceiling of the tent "If you didn't, it would be chilly here. "

"Well, it wasn't cheap, but I agree with you there. Well worth it. " I said as I closed my book, realizing that there was no way I'm getting any more reading done. "So what do you want to do?"

Dawn tilted her head. "Can we watch a movie? I mean, it is either that, stare at the wall or go outside for a walk and get soaked. "

Do not think of Dawn getting soaked in that white shirt...

Damn. Too late.

Brain! You traitor!

I nodded and put my book in my pack next to my bed before laying back again, accessing my Omni-tool. "That do sound nice. What do you want to watch?"

She crossed the tent to sit down next to me, making me swallow slightly, wondering if this really was such a good idea. I was suddenly glad I kept both pants and shirt on when sleeping 'in the field'.

I learned to while in Westeros. Even when considered a deity, it is not dignifying running around camp naked when we were attacked in the middle of the night.

Dawn bit her lower lip and then shrugged. "Do you have Lion King? I have not seen that one in ages. "

Flickering through the library I then nodded. "Yep. Have it. " I answered before I pulled out a second ear piece and handed it over to her.

She smiled and laid down next to me. "Thanks. " She said, putting her head on my shoulder, more or less forcing me to put my arm around her or have my arm be trapped between me and her.

Yeah. I was right... this was a bad idea.

Oh well, too late to go back now.

I mentally shrugged and rested my left arm on my chest to have the screen be projected at a nice angle and distance for us both.

We were about halfway through the movie when Dawn sighed and shifted her position, causing me to look away from the screen and towards her, just in time to see her smile before she kissed me!

She felt... wow.

I just about managed to catch myself and pull back before I started to kiss her back. "Dawn... " I started but found myself a bit a loss for words.

Dawn smiled and put her head back against my shoulder. "As you seem completely unable to catch a hint, I was thinking I would be a bit more direct. " She said. "Did you get that one?" She then teased, giving me a playful look.

"Dawn... no matter how I feel about you, I'm not sure you and me is a good idea. " I said with a sigh.

She frowned at me "Why?"

"Well," I started, "For one thing, I am at least ten, if not fifteen years older than you. "

Dawn rolled her eyes "You don't look thirty five. " she said.

"I told you, we stop aging when we reach optimum age. " I answered her, already knowing where this was going before I said it.

"So why do it matter?" She asked with a smile. "Even if it is fifteen years, that is not even that uncommon between people that do age. Why would it matter for us? Come on, what more do you have? It can't be only that. "

"Well, there is the matter of your sister... " I explained, "She is kind of scary and very protective of you. "

Dawn grinned and sat up, shifting to kneel next to me so she could look down at me. "Seriously? You are afraid of Buffy?"

Damn right I am!

"She is quite skilled with murderising supernatural beings... especially when pissed off. " I quickly explained and Dawn just giggled.

"You can fly and make shields!" She said with a grin. "Besides, my sister likes you, at worst she might yell a bit. But really, this is none of her business. We are both adults, I don't need her permission and neither do you. "

I swallowed slightly, looking up at her. She really was beautiful like this. "I am also currently your teacher. There is an imbalance in power... " I said, but I started to get second thoughts about this. About the arguing that is. Why exactly was I trying to talk her out of this again?

Dawn shook her head with a small grin "You really think that is a problem? Would you ever force me to do anything against my will?" She asked.

I quickly shook my head "No! Of course not. "

She ran her tongue tip across her lips with a smile as she played with the top button of her shirt "Then I don't see the problem. Do you have any more worries I need to shoot down?"

Screw it.

I sat up and pulled her into a kiss. Dawn made a small happy sound before pressing close, kissing back.

"So, do you think we will be able to find a room at an inn in Duskwood?" Dawn asked and leaned back against me as we started to approach the bridge over the small river between Duskwood and Westfall.

I shrugged and put my arms around her "We should. We do have enough money left that it should not be any real problem find a room from time to time. Besides, it is the last real opportunity we will have."

Having Dawn as a girlfriend instead of just friend, was remarkably similar actually. Just with more benefits and less guilt from checking her out.

Waking up with her was the most brilliant thing ever though.

"I remember how it is to travel through that place." She said "We did it twice after all... Spiders. Spiders the size of dogs." and then she shivered, looking at the dark trees on the other side of the river.

I grinned "Developing some arachnophobia?" I asked her while roaming my hand across her bare stomach.

The squeak she let out was well worth it, even if I would most likely pay for it later. As it turn out, Dawn is ticklish.

She gave me a small glare over her shoulder as the kodo simply walked on, giving zero fucks.

I chuckled as we reached the bridge only for the kodo to stop as a trio of men stepped out from the supports of the bridge, scrambling up to block our path. Medium height and built, wearing a mix of chain and leather armor, red bandanas across their faces.

Two of them was armed with axes and one with a crossbow.

I just stared at them, not bothering to move my arms from around Dawns waist even as I felt her tense up.

"You have 'got' to be kidding." I simply commented.

"This is a robbery!" the bandit with the crossbow said, aiming it at us.

"Yes, I can see that. But seriously, you guys need to start reading the newsletter. Didn't you hear what happened to the last bandits that tried to rob us?" I asked, giving Dawn a small squeeze to make her relax.

"Oh we heard, mage. You are easy to recognize, riding around on that big thing. Now get off the animal and keep your hands where we can see them. No sudden movements."

"Oh relax, I'm not going to." I said half a moment before they were pounced from the tall grass by five Varrens. While they did not detect the bandits before hand, they could not be blamed for that. I did order them to stay in the tall grass and keep watch to our sides rather than in front by the bridge.

While I talked with the bandits I had mentally ordered the Varren to sneak into a flanking position, getting as close as they could before waiting for the command to pounce.

While hardly Dire Wolves, they were still the size of normal wolves in size.

The bandits didn't stand a chance, soon they all were on the ground with a pair of Varren jaws around their throats, ready to rip them out if needed.

Dawn let out a small slow breath and slowly relaxed back against me again.

"You ok?" I asked her softly.

She nodded and swallowed "Yes... I'm fine. Sorry."

"Don't worry, I had it under control." I said before I slipped of the Kodo and walked over to the pinned and terrified bandits "Now, what to do with you three? I guess we could tie them up and leave them?" I asked Dawn, glancing back at her.

Dawn looked like she had calmed down and then she shook her head "We can't do that. They could get loose or get eaten before somebody finds them. We can bring them to the closest guards we find like we did with the other ones."

I sighed and frowned down at the trio who were now nodding as much as the Varren would let them.

Damn. Oh well, she was right. We couldn't just leave them here.

"Ok, Dawn. Binding spell if you please?" I asked, glancing back at her. Better to give her some practice when it is offered.

She blinked and then nods, raising her right arm with a look of concentration on her face. Her eyes took on a white glow and white mana swirled down her arm before she waved it in the direction of the bandits.

White bands of glowing energy flew at them, binding their arms and legs together.

"Good, you are getting faster." I said, giving Dawn a smile before I walked over to unpack our rope.

Well, these guys are not getting a free ride, I'll tie their hands together and to the saddle. They can bloody well walk.

I cut the rope in three parts before I moved to tie each of their hands together in front of them, making the Varren get off them in turn before I used my telekinesis to lift them onto your feet "Now, assuming there are now outstanding warrants on any of you, I don't see you spending more than maybe five years in prison. It is a lot better than being dead, is it not? My pets are not as understanding a second time. Behave and you will live." I told them.

They all quickly nodded, casting wary looks at the large teeth of the Varren as I moved to gag each of them with their own bandanas before I frisked them thoroughly before letting Dawn cancel the spell she had on them.

"There I think..." I then said and tied the other end of their ropes to the back of the saddle of the Kodo "Ready to get going again, Dawn?"

She looked at the bandits and swallowed before looking down at me "You are getting way too used to this, aren't you?"

I looked back at the bandits and then back up at her before I nodded "Yes. Yes I am. When we leave here, how about we find a nice, quiet Plane and just relax for a couple of years? After visiting Sunnydale for a while, that is?"

Dawn smiled "Yeah, maybe. That would be nice... Maybe Westeros?" she then asked as I climbed into the saddle behind her.

I shivered at that thought "NO thank you. I rather not go back there until there have been at least a decade or two. Way to stressful. I'm more thinking we find the elemental plane of calm sandy beaches." I answered before I looked down at the prisoners who were glancing around.

They looked mildly desperate and thoroughly confused about what the hell we were talking about.

"Behave." I told them firmly while hoping we find a guard patrol quickly so we didn't have to drag these guys around all the way to Darkshire.

Other than the attack of the idiot squad, the rest of the journey was spent in relative peace. Sadly we were unable to get rid of them before we reached Darkshire, but at least they didn't cause any problems, even at night.

Somehow a Varren parked next to each of them while we slept kept them from getting any ideas.

The rest of the journey was easy enough, just a couple of run ins with the local wildlife. I'm thinking that my girlfriend might actually be developing a case of arachnophobia.

To be fair though, I am hardly fond of the damn things anyway.

"There it is." Dawn finally commented as The Dark Portal rose into view as Mr. Fluffsy climbed the last hill, giving us a view over the army camp in the crater around it.

"Yeah...joy." I said with a sigh, causing her to give me a smile over her shoulder.

"It's not all bad," She said " We'll be able to get into an actual bed again" and her smile took on a playful hint.

I blinked and then grinned "I like the way you think..."

No such luck.

When we finally arrived in Thrallamar, we found out that there was no time to rest there.

"Say that again?" I asked the green troll left in charge of the fortress camp. I never did catch his name.

"The armies are forming up in Shadowmoon Valley for the final assault on The Black Temple. If you take a windrider, you might get there in time to heal the wounded after the battle," he said.

How the flying hell did they push the legion back all the way to the last zone in four months?

Dawn gave me a worried look "How long will it take by windrider?" She asked him, "We need to get there before it starts!"

"I'm sorry, mon." The troll answered her "It takes at least a day to fly there, even following the edge of the world."

I frowned "What if you fly across the Void?" I asked him "I have seen a map of this place, Shadowmoon Valley is across the void next to Hellfire."

He shook his head "Windriders won't fly across the void."

"Then we get different mounts," I said before I turned to Dawn. "We better get ready. Repack everything we need into bags. Nothing to much, we need to travel fast."

She quickly nodded and ran back to the Kodo.

I sighed and looked after her for a moment before walking over to the windmaster. I needed some saddles.

Damn. If we had been a couple of days or weeks later, it would have been over already. It might be selfish, but I would have preferred it.

It would mean Dawn was not going into danger again.

But if I dragged my heels, she would find out and she would be mad as a bee at me and not in the sexy way either.

She would never forgive me, especially if Cloudsong got his arse killed.

Which meant doing my best to get us there in time....and then to do my best to End the battle and if possible, this war as fast as possible.

So much for relative anonymity.

"I need two windrider saddles." I told the old orc that was the Thrallamar windmaster.

He frowned "What for, human?"

"Because I have alternate mounts that will be able to get us to the site of the battle, hopefully before it breaks out." I answered him.

The Orc looked hesitant "You two are healers?" he then asked.

I nodded.

"Good. I have a couple of old saddles. They need to be changed to fit a different kind of mount. Go get the mounts, I'll go get the leatherworker." He then said before turning to walk through the camp, leaving me to look after him for a moment.

Shaking my head I turned to walk and find somewhere out of sight of anyone where I could summon and enlarge a couple of ravens.

I could have used the Firewings spell, but that would leave us unable to bring any stuff and make us tired by the end. You do need to think about flying and if you don't...well, you don't.

Which meant flying mounts and the ravens was the most practical alternative.

Hopefully, we'll be able to get there in time.

"Dawn! Down!" I yelled as I spotted a shape between the green clouds, even though I knew she could barely hear me. Ravens may not have engines, but they needed to fly at a distance to stay safe and then there was the wind.

As we approached Shadowmoon Valley, the clouds had started to gather. They were green... the color of Fel magic.

They didn't look healthy... it would have been stealthier to stay in the clouds, but due to their color, neither of us wanted to fly into them.

That did, however, mean that other things could possibly hide in the clouds. Like now, just after we reached land.

I ordered the ravens to fold their wings in to quickly fly close to the deck instead and Dawn screamed. As we fell like a pair of bricks, a pair of dark purple dragons with half see-thru wings dove at us, barely missing because we had changed direction.

I clung to the saddle and unhooked from it before I pushed away from the raven, spreading wings of fire to rise up to meet the dragons.

Casting spells at moving targets while moving through the air... hard.

I don't have any spells that are instantly line of sight. Which meant getting closer.

Throwing myself to the side to avoid a blast of flame, I returned with my own flameslash, cutting the right wing of the closest one. As it flashed past me towards the ground I went after the second one with a white binding spell.

I need to figure out how to use line of sight spells without travel time.

Quickly looking around I folded my own wings, diving after the ravens as they spread their wings, leveling out just above the ground, starting to follow the shapes of the landscape.

Landing in the saddle of a flying raven was something I had only tried once before. It is very tricky, I understand why the Germans gave up launching biplanes from zeppelins during WW1.

I dropped back into the saddle and canceled my wings, looking over at Dawn. She was almost laying on her raven, clinging to the bird for dear life, her face pressed against the feathers.

Oh boy, I'm going to be in trouble later.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

"You... utter... bastard!" Dawn growled as she dropped off her raven in when we reached the army camp at the southern end of Shadowmoon Valley.

"I'm sorry, but there were dragons... I couldn't let them take on the ravens, fighting them on the birds would have been almost impossible. I tried to warn you!" I tried to explain as she advanced on me "You know I would never let you get hurt, Dawnie."

"Don't call me that!" she hissed and then she turned, storming off.

I let out a frustrated sigh and shook my head. Yeah, I could have handled that better.

"You are the one called Winter?" a human guard dressed in Stormwind colors asked as he walked up to me.

I blinked, slightly surprised to see a human. It was only when I entered the camp proper that I found out that this camp was like the one on the other side of the portal, it was a mix of alliance and horde.

"That's me." I answered him "What is this about?"

He shrugged "I don't know, we just have standing orders to tell you to report to Warleader Splittusk as soon as you come back."

I raised my eyebrow at that "Very well. Command tent, I assume?"

The guard nodded "Center of camp. You might wish to delay for a small while though, they are having a war council."

"Good. I want to see them all anyway. This save time." I answered before I turned and walked into and through the camp in search for my destination.

I'm going to end this war. It was really their business, not mine. I can not run around the multiverse, trying to fix everyone's problems.

As sad as it is or as much as I might want to, if I try, I will quickly go nuts. Just because I might be able to save someone if I am in the right place at the right time, it doesn't mean that I have to.

The only reason I am even still on this world is because of Dawn.

To keep my girl safe.

This final fight...

When we were in Thrallamar, we were behind heavy defenses and could easily withdraw to The Dark Portal if we were overrun. Sure, we could Walk here, but Dawn would never do it if it meant leaving people behind.

And honestly, I wouldn't like it much either.

Which meant that to keep Dawn safe, I would need to end this war and win the coming battle... and that means getting the very competent people running this show to listen to me and not get in the way.

Time to act like like what I am, not matter how much I dislike it.

I came to a stop outside the command tent, two guards were standing outside the tent, one a human with a shield and sword, wearing full armor.

The other one a large Orc with a large axe.

"Is Warleader Splittusk here? I heard he was looking for me." I asked them.

The large Orc looked down at me "You Winter?" he asked and when I nodded he continued "Good. You will wait here until the meeting finishes."

"I don't think so, I need to talk with everyone in that tent."

"Nobody enters the tent." The human guard said, putting his hand on his sword pommel "Orders."

I raised my eyebrow "Look, there are two ways this can happen. One, I go through that tent flap. Two, I go through that tentflap with you laying on the ground. Pick one."

As predicted they pulled their weapons. Yeah, I didn't really care.

Waving my hand I cast a binding spell on them both before walking past them as they fell into the room they were guarding.

From the reaction of everyone inside, the tent must have had a spell on it to keep sound from passing through it. Handy that...need to remember to learn that one.

Dawn would like it.

"What is the meaning of this!?" a man in silvery and golden armor asked as he put his hand on his sword.

"I'm wondering the same thing." The large Orc in the spiky armor growled, putting down a goblet on the map covered table.

I shrugged and stepped over the human guard "I heard you wanted to see me. Conveniently, I was looking to see you as well, Warleader. You as well, General." I answered, giving them a nod.

"You are Winter." Splittusk grumbled and looked over at the human "Control your agent, Gromard!"

Uh, what?

The general stared at me for a moment. I raised my eyebrow before he shook his head.

"Not one of ours." He said, keeping his hand on his sword.

"Yeah, I don't work for him." I explained as the Orc turned to stare at me.

Amusing. He thought I was a member of...what's its name? SI:7? Heh.

"As you both know now, I am Winter. And I am going to end this war." I said as I walked over to look down on the maps on the table, completely ignoring the generals sword.

It was a map over Shadowmoon Valley...and if I read it right, they outnumber us two to one.

That's annoying, but should be workable.

I'm hardly CREEEED, but I do have some tactical and strategic skills... and what I lack, I may be able to make up for with firepower.

"I'm calling the guards." The general said and started towards the exit of the tent so I waved my hand, putting the binding on him as well, floating him back to the table without even looking up.

"That would be annoying, general. I would prefer it if you didn't." I said before I glanced at the Orc. He had yet to reach for any weapon, he simply kept his hand on his goblet.

Good, somebody that was ready to listen.

"Release me, Mage!" General Gromard commanded me and I just shook my head.

"If you behave, I might."

Warlord Splittusk looked at me for a long moment before he asked "Who are you?"

"I am Winter. I am a Planeswalker." I said, looking between them. Neither of them looked like they recognized the term.

Damn, that would have made things easier.

"And what, is a Planeswalker?" the Warleader asked, putting his hand on the map.

"A Planeswalker is a kind of mage. A very powerful one. But that is not important, what is important is that your troops are outnumbered two to one. I can even the odds." I told them, waving my hand at the general, releasing him from the binding spell, causing him to stumble and use the table for support.

"You come barging in here, claiming to be a mage and expect us to trust you!? You could be a warlock, working for the demons!" General Gromard exclaimed angrily as he stood up straight again.

I shrugged "I honestly don't give a fuck. I'm simply informing you on how things will be. If you work with me, things will be easier on both you and your troops as you will then know what will happen and can use it for your advantage. You can't stop me either way."

The two leaders of the army looked at each other in that 'let's not agitate the madman' way before Splittusk slowly nodded "What exactly, do you intend to do?"

I was telling the truth. I didn't care if they trusted me or not, or if they believed me or not. But they did need to know what I had planned so they could take advantage of it and not have their armies run for their lives instead.

Smiling slightly I leaned against the planning table, pulling the map a bit closer "This is the plan..."

XXXXXXXXXXXX

A hour later I walked out of the command tent, I stretched. I have no idea of they actually believed me or thought I could do what I said I could, even with a small demonstration, but at least now they know what I plan to do.

The guards gave me a couple of dark looks as I walked out. Apparently they where not happy with being taken down that easily.

I sighed slightly and looked around. Well, battle is not going to be for another couple of days... according to the battle plan at least.

I better go find the tent and get that set up and then go find Da...

"Winter!" Dawn called out, walking up to me on the way to where I left the Ravens.

"Dawn..Look, I'm sorry. I should have tried harder to warn you." I said as I stopped.

She smiled and walked up, putting her arms around the back of my neck, my hands automatically ending up on her hips "No, I overreacted. I'm sorry, I just got scared."

I smiled and gave her a small kiss "It's fine. Did you see where the ravens ended up? I need to unpack the tent."

Dawn smiled up at me "Already done. Have it set up as well." before she stepped back, taking my hand "Want to inspect it?" she asked with a playful smile.

Yes.

Yes I think I do.

I frowned slightly, my arms crossed as I looked out across the coming 'field of battle'. It was more like a bunch of small hills and green glowing smoky springs. I am not entirely sure how a floating island can have volcanic activity, but there was. We were standing on a larger hill in the back of the field.

But the terrain was not the problem.

Neither was the enemy army, actually. They have started to gather on the other side of the field, netherwing dragons circling above them.

There were a lot of them. The ground troops that is, but they only had like a hundred dragons that we could see. Neither of those was the problem.

The ground troops I can handle and the skyguard greatly outnumber the dragons... Besides, they are rather small, only about the size of horses and their fire was not that great.

The skyguard knows how to handle those.

No, the problem was the five large shapes looming above the army. Fel Reavers. Five of the massive warmachines.

This complicate things.

"Well, oh great mage, How do you suggest we handle those?" General Gromard asked from next to me.

"You have killed those before." I answered.

He scowled "One. It had no support and it took a small army to bring it down."

"Well, I just have to handle those then. That will give me less time trying to even the odds on the ground though." I said, trying to figure out if my plan would still work.

In theory it 'should' work.

Sadly I can't just pop out and get a nuke. Hell, even if I could carry one, the time difference is a bitch. Simply not enough time.

No time to mass produce rifles or muskets either. They actually have quite decent muskets, their magic actually make them rifle quality in range and accuracy...but they are allhandcrafted.

Gromard snorted and shook his head before climbing back onto his horse and rode away. Well, he did have a army to command.

"Winter..." somebody said and I half turned, looking behind me.

"Hey Dawn. How are the healers doing?" I asked as she walked up and hugged me.

She sighed "We are ready."

I nodded "Remember, if we lose... Run. Walk, find a safe place to wait. You can come back later."

"I don't want to abandon them. Master Cloudsong could not come with me, I would not leave him behind." she said, looking up at me.

"Dawn, if they get past the army, everyone is fucked. You staying and dying 't change a thing." I told her with a sigh.

Dawn frowned up at me "If I was in danger and we were about to lose, would you run?"

Fuck no!

I sighed and rested my forehead against hers "Don't be silly."

"Well, neither will I." She said with a small smile, giving me a kiss "I need to go back to my job. Be careful."

I nodded "Be careful, Dawn. Stay close to Cloudsong."

XXXXXXXXXXXX

I kept my eyes closed as I leaned my back against a stone, sitting with my legs crossed. I couldn't sleep, but I learned long ago to get some rest when I was able to.

This was going to suck. So many would die this day.

If I could take out Illidan, it would possibly break them instantly. The thing was... I don't know if I could take Illidan.

I kind of doubt it would be so easy as walking in and shooting him in the face. Besides, one on one combat is not exactly my specialty.

I heard a loud horn far away in the distance and I opened my eyes, standing up.

The demon/orc/blood elf army had started moving.

As I looked out over the battlefield our own army started to slowly move as well. Honestly though, the tactics was very similar to what I saw in Westeros.

Showtime.

I looked up as the skyguard on their Nether Rays surging forward to meet the dragons. They outnumbered the dragons five to one.

Unless they are horribly bad that should be able to gain air superiority.

Calling forth a pair of wings of fire I rose into the air, beating them slowly as I hovered above the hill behind me, closing my eyes again.

This summoning I had done once. It ENDED The Others War.

Let's see if it can help a bit here.

Spreading my arms I pointed my palms outwards, channeling all my remaining red and green mana, the energy whirling down my arms and massive areas in air next to me started to glow.

Four massive large areas of air was suddenly not areas of air.

Dragons. Not the larva that was flying above the demon army. Mine was large even before I added the green mana into the spell.

Even with the diminishing returns of Giant Growth, with a full land of green each, if they were standing on the ground they would be over twelve meters tall at the shoulders.

Oh, Danny was PISSED after she found out why I tricked her into being allowed to touch one of her fully grown dragons.

Flapping their almost fifty meter wingspans all four let out a massive synchronous roar. The armies simply froze as everyone turned to look.

Surprise.

I grinned, burning another two white mana putting shields on them before commanding them to take out a Fel Reaver each.

They dove across the field, smaller dragons in terror when my behemoths strafed the enemy army, letting lose torrents of fire across the demonic army.

I beat my wings, following in their wake as spells splashed of the shield I put on them. Those shields was not my normal ones. Since I started to spar with Dawn I managed to figure out Mary's trick of anti magic shields.

Way stronger than my own versions, but only against magic.

They slammed into the fel reavers, letting lose torrents of fire as they claws and bit. The real battle was on.

I hovered above the last one, shielding against what spells that was aimed at me, most was trying to get at the dragons, the entire demonic army was in total disarray. Somehow 'suddenly, massive dragons!' had a negative effect on their morale.

The Alliance and Horde were taking full advantage.

But that left me with a problem. A thirty meter tall, metal plated demonic death machine of a problem.

The Fel Reaver gave no fucks about the plight of its friends, it simply strode against its targets. I was out of red mana, I burned it all creating the dragons.

Black mana would not work against this thing.

I never tried white mana on something this size and I would much rather save that to shield.

Damn.

I slowly beat my wings as I stared down at it. Well, that did leave me with one kind of mana. Blue.
I suck at mind magic...but that thing might not have much of a mind in the first place.

Fuck it. It is that or trying to pull the damn thing into the Blind Eternities!

Folding my wings behind my back, I dove towards the giant demonic automaton. It spotted me and reached up to try to swat me from the skies.

Throwing myself to the side, I grinned.

Too slow!

Circling around I landed on it's shoulder, next to its small head. The thing kept moving, trying to reach me...but it couldn't! Giant fucking pauldrons! They have problems!

Using the wings to compensate for the movements I grabbed hold of the raised metal around his head for support against the movements beneath me, pressing my hand against it's head.

"Let's see what you've got..." I said as I channeled my mana into it, diving into it's mind.

The mind of the Fel Reaver was like crystal. Rigid, no kind of free thought. It was about as bright as a dog but completely devoted to follow its simple orders.

My original plan was to simply crush its mind, That I can do even if I suck.

But this was different. This I could work with.

I took me a moment but then I pulled out from it's tiny mind with a grin "Go get them, Cherno." I said, spreading my wings and taking to the air again.

The Fel Reaver had frozen for a couple of seconds but as I flew back into the skies, I could see it turn to berserk on the closest formation of blood elfs.

In simple terms, I switched it's IFF codes around. Still, I completely overdid it with the blue mana. I didn't need to use as much as I did. I am down to half.

The enemy was now in complete disarray. Three of the other Fel Reavers was completely down in scrap, the fourth one was out of commission. It was missing it's head and stumbling around blindly.

But all my dragons were down, if not dead, then close.

The demons might be in disarray, but without massive threats to keep them like that, they would reform. If they reform to early, they might still be able to defeat the armies of the good guys.

I looked between the fallen dragons. How about we change that then, shall we?

I flew down to the closest one, landing on it's back. The dragon had a massive wound in it's side. I could see organs and parts was hanging out and it wasn't breathing.

Taking I slow breath I knelt on it's back, putting my hand against the thick scales, dumping a land of Black mana into the spell.

I grinned as the massive body stirred beneath me, struggling back onto its rear legs and wings. When it stood up I could see that it was missing its lower jaw.

As I returned to the air to fly to the next dragon, the enemy army changed from disarray into a full blow rout.

Yes.

I could see why they had that reaction.

Quickly flying from dragon to dragon I resurrected them all. The ones that was not fully dead, I killed with a quick application of black mana when I resurrected them. They were of no use wounded.

As the last one struggled up I returned to the skies above the fleeing army, my wings slowly beating the air behind me.

They were running for their lives. But they could regroup.

They could return.

Their leaders were not dead yet. They would regroup. They would return.

I took a deep breath and nodded as I came to a decision.

"Burn them all." I commanded, both by voice and mind as my new Zombie Dragons took to the skies.

I sighed as I walked through the camp towards my tent. I kept getting wary and awed looks.

Annoying.

Still, the war was over. Once the battle was finished I found out that it was not the real battle. They did a fucking lord of the rings.

We were meant to be a delaying action, to keep their focus and forces here. We would hold as long as possible to give the group of the strongest fighters on our side time to take out Illidan. The prediction was that it would throw the demonic horde into disarray, disrupting the chain of command and allowing the next invasion of Outland to defeat them.

The only part of the plan that went as planned was that they managed to kill Illidan.

The idea to keep their army busy with murdering us...did not go as planned.

I'm glad though that my dragons were close to the back of the enemy army when I resurrected them, as I don't think anyone noticed that they were undead.

From what I gathered, they thought I healed them... which considering I used to play at being a healer was a logical assumption.

The General and Warleaders' reactions when I met them after the battle was hillarious; now they think I am in league with one of the dragon flights.

Meh, I don't care. The danger is over.

I pushed the tentflap over and froze as I spotted Dawn on my bed. Wait, that was not Dawn...

"Hello there, Winter..." the very naked Siviria said with a smile.

I sighed and shook my head. Here we go again...when all this started, who would know I would become so tired at finding random naked girls in my bed?

"Siviria, I have a girlfriend. Get lost." I complained while looking away.

The bloodelf pouted "I dont mind sharing..." but she got up and stretched before picking up her clothes, as little as they were.

She then walked out but not before rubbing up against me and kissing my cheek on the way past.

Bloody hell. I barely saw her before Dawn and I left and I had not seen her at all since we came back...I had hoped the catnip effect was only temporary.

Well, as hot as she was, she was simply too late. If she had acted like this before Dawn and I got together I would likely have gone for it, but now?

Nope.

Undressing I collapsed into bed, crawling under the heavy covers. It was hours after the end of the battle, but Dawn was still busy with healing the wounded.

I was exhausted, both mentally and physically, but I couldn't sleep. I must have been laying there for a hour, staring up at the fabric of the tent, just listening to the sounds of the camp.

Finally Dawn walked in. She looked as tired as I felt.

Undressing she slipped into bed with me and I pulled her close to my side as she rested her head against my shoulder.

"We won." Dawn said softly as she relaxed "You won."

I sighed and nodded "We did." as I started to idly undo her braid.

We were silent for a long moment. I thought she had fallen asleep when she spoke up again.

"What now?" she asked, glancing at me.

"Now we sleep." I answered, stroking her back "As for the future...There will be some cleaning up. Then I guess we follow Cloudsong around until you finish your training. Maybe then we can go home."

Dawn smiled slightly at that and snuggled closer "That sounds nice."

I sighed and held her close, for now ignoring the part of my brain that kept reminding me of the undead stirring in the North. I have dealt with their kind before.

We will see what the future really brings.
