I'm going to spontaneously transform into a salt pillar if Ber chooses this day to teleport here and coincidentally becomes the Fish's pilot.
Ah, so this is how we can get Pillars without Arete or pick spending. o7 Unelemental, your sacrifice would be forgotten only after a few months instead of weeks.
Armaments give their pilots Totality unless they're too broken, making the squishy guys and girls effectively immune to damage while they're combined due to being elsewhere.Ah, so this is how we can get Pillars without Arete or pick spending. o7 Unelemental, your sacrifice would be forgotten only after a few months instead of weeks.
Also member Ber, the poor guy was said to be outscaled by Trinity +Rank and Oaf, we only got Crown,Tears,Tower,King of Winter(+Whiteout) and probably ADS after that. And may Accursed have mercy on him, because Hunger will have none.

TBH, even if it is really not crucial - counterproductive in some ways, even! - to buy ADS here, getting some Apocryphal mitigation now would be pretty grand.
IIRC, Shroud was hinted to grand some additional magical abilities beyond "More rank, and now your rank is extra-effective" thing it does by default.

In practice, this mitigates all Curses as per Magic-Defeating Stance and renders the character nigh-immune to most forms of harm, as all attacks are intercepted by an imperishable well of ablative Ruin.
Imagine if he was railroaded into Prestige Classing into something built around an animal companion and was deeply irritated at how suboptimal this was... until the Armament appeared. Should've had more faith in Apocryphal-chan's guidance! Congratulations, Ber my boy, you're playing a pet class now. Nominative determinism in action. The Bear and the Fish, truly a match made somewhere biblical.
He should still be grinding his prestige class for at least 2 days.

Hunger correctly guessed it was a proc, he even thought the line:Is Hunger even going to remember Ber? He doesn't know about the Apocryphal proc, so for him Ber was just a guy that attacked his party once and ran away.
Outscaling the Blue Swordsman (a title we have now thoroughly usurped, but maybe we can get a Defining Advancement out of slaying a pretender to the throne?) was one reason Hunger went to the Temple, so it's safe to say he remembers. The guy did swear vengeance, Hunger's life isn't so interesting (yet) that that's merely a slow Tuesday."We'll talk about this later," he growled, advancing upon the now-forming portals. Fuck these so-called interesting times.
But Hunger does remember enough of Earth to quote M. Bison when Ber shows up again.Hunger correctly guessed it was a proc, he even thought the line:

I meant the second Ber proc in Choice of Import, he can't have possibly expected Ber to keep up after the Temple.Hunger correctly guessed it was a proc, he even thought the line:

I see the Jurassic Park movies haven't become enduring cultural touchstones like Neuron Genesis Cathedrelion. That's a Procession in its own right, each new installment presaged by weeping paleontologists, the park's ideas increasingly infeasible, the dinosaurs growing ever-deadlier..."That would be a bit rough for just a theme park manager," Aeira smiled reassuringly.
Not that execrable nickname, for once. Is this a sign that Gisena's very worried? Picking apart her dialogue can be interesting when there's actual substance to it, but it's hard to tell how much is apophenia; am I looking underneath the underneath or seeing patterns in my toast?"Several orders of magnitude larger than the Rotbeast, even! Are you truly prepared for this, Hunger?"
