Joey Drew Studios opens up, and creates Bendy the Dancing Demon, a character inspired by Warner Bros' Bugs Bunny. Despite some opposition from Christian groups, Bendy cartoons (later adding Boris the Wolf and Alice Angel) would prove to be insanely popular, and ends up competing with the likes of Bugs, Disney's Mickey Mouse, and MGM's Droopy/Tom and Jerry. Although theatrical shorts would die out in the 60s, Joey Drew Studios was able to make a smooth transition to TV with The Bendy Show, which still airs to this day (with new cartoons). Bendyland, an amusement park based off of Disneyland would open in the 70s in California, where it is still operational. Bendy has been the star of many theatrical films, most of them being compilation films like Warner Bros., but with new cartoons specifically made for them. Bendy was planned to cameo in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Ever since the 90s, Bendy direct-to-DVD movies have been made. Bendy still appears in theatrical shorts, along with all sorts of merchandise. Bendy's Big Score was made in the 90s, to compete with Space Jam, and it did do more financially and critically. Bendy recently makes an appearance in Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers.
