The lost city of Atlantis from the Disney movie right after it's brought to the surface from the second film brought to our world in 1922? I'm not really sure where the second movie is placed in time I know it's after the first world war so taking a stab at about four years afterwards.

Many humans would not like this change, deeming that they would clutter up our cities and give them the name Wheelers. The cars would prove to be useful during WW2, helping speed by Axis soldiers. The cars would be accepted in the Civil Rights Movement, allowing them to mingle with society. One of the most famous things to come out of the cars is The Lightning McQueen Story, a mockumentary about the fictitous race car Lightning McQueen and his funny, yet heartwarming quest to be the best racer released in 2006. It was progressive at the time since cars were usually delegated to supporting roles as seen in media like Herbie the Love Bug, My Mother the Car, and Knight Rider. It was added to the National Film Registry in 2016.
