So I can add a tab in my google doc on this, but basically every unit usually has at least one designation that gives it a roll bonus
Any unit can gain veteran, which is literally showing that they are a veteran unit with combat experience, vs a fresh unit that has never been in combat

You cannot convert to elite from veteran, and elite units can gain veterancy the same way as everyone else. Elite is supposed to represent units that are given superior equipment and training and have higher recruitment standards. Generally all specialist regiments are elite as its part its special additional training. Some times on the military build up choices I add an option to upgrade a regiment into elite status, you also could have upgraded a moranian infantry regiment or two if you had given them the Drukhari/Volantean looted weapons, as they are generally superior to lasguns and chainswords(Heresy I know)

In addition there are other special designations that give bonuses

Veteran +1
Elite +1
Geno +1
Orgyn +2
Space Marine +3

Ahh, well then we need to do some serious industrial upgrades over the next few turns, we need better infantry gear, armored vehicles and artillery production so we can properly diversify our army.

We're way too heavy on infantry and have no artillery at all other then the siege regiments which are tied down.

This would be a test run to see our ship capabilities.

And about that question earlier if imperium grab heretic ship...yes they do, until guillman ban the pratice the mechannicus often do that. So we can grab loot....granted with the risk of getting fuck in our asses it we grab demon tainted tech or something.
 
I'd say we don't, we're not a soldier anymore we're a ruler, more specifically we're a ruler without an heir.
We have no business being any closer to a battlefield then on our flagship and even that's iffy with how light our flagship is.

Speaking of heirs though we need to get a wife and maybe a few consorts and get that fixed.

@dh188709, have we been using our seers in the background for info or do we need to specify using them for things?
I think I remember us getting a group of them a while back but I haven't seen any mention of them in a while.

I think I remember us getting a group of them a while back but I haven't seen any mention of them in a while.
They have been primarily used in the Pskyer collections and for supporting Skywatch surveillance
 
Can we give them additional tasks? Seeing if they can tell us anything about how functional the stations defenses are, it's garrison and how many ships the pirates have before we attack would be valuable.
 
Not if we're dead. We need much better gear and to beef up our guard unit to a full regiment first.

We're going to hunt pirates, more warp capable craft now is a must. Honestly, wouldn't mind giving it to the Umbral knights either, a single strike cruiser means they lack a lot of flexibility and tactical manuvering that an escort would bring to the table. Then again our actual space force is pretty abysmal in terms of heavy firepower.

On that note, the space station will be the anchor for us holding our little sector of space. Our monitors and escorts can use it as a rally point and shield to lance in and our of combat with any potential invading force, so our station needs to be fortified and armoured enough to actually tank the ordanace sent it's way.
 
Hey so after our latest upgrade to the Vitae wombs we would have 4 lines right? The info sheet you did had 3 before this turn so I'm assuming that's correct.
Can we designate each line to a specific option and just let them run in the background?

The station is a fixed position with limited coverage that our enemies can go around to raid us, the satellite network covers most of our orbit and needs beefing up if it's going to be our primary line of orbit defense for most of the world until we can get more stations.

Manufacturing wise we need to diversify we're almost entirely infantry at the moment, artillery covers fixed AA as well I think so we can get some artillery regiments to support the infantry and also upgrade our defensive fortifications on the ground with some heavier AA before the next raids.

We should probably expand our fortified outpost network as well for greater coverage at some point as well since for now it's limited mostly to our bigger settlements.

We already went all in on the Umbral Knights with their Fortress and colonists/serfs so I'm all for stacking the deck some more in their favor.

With all our warp-capable ships going on missions, I think upgrading the station defenses is a good idea.

Yeah the faster that we get the Umbral Space Marines running better is the chance that they go and deal with problems in our sector on their own pace, and with the attacks from dark eldar and the orks preparing to do something, having the Umbral with their full force or at least near it would be a God-Emperor send, like remember that a full force space marine is prepared to defend or invade a entire attack force of any enemy of the Imperium, soo yeah lets get those boys up and running for them to do the emperor's work against those Xenos.

And maybe later down the line we can get them to train a bit of our own Geno-Warrior, to be new astartes and to be tided for the Imperial Guard, maybe if they do good work we can get them Imperium to make our world a Fortress World, that would be good for us and the local group of Imperial world too.
