You look over the reports as your flight transports you to what will be your new home. You were chosen to lead an international taskforce made for the purpose of protecting mankind from the things that go bump in the night. You were surprised to learn that things like vampires, werewolves, demons, witches, and the like exist. The taskforce had yet to be given a proper name, as it was something rather thrown together, which also meant that funding might, no, will be an issue as things start out. It was to be expected however, after all, why spend all this money and resources on things that most people don't even think is real? Speaking of which, that was another aspect of your new assignment, keeping the secret world a secret.

Because of this, you and your new subordinates will need to be careful and keep collateral damage to a minimum until that part of your mission is removed for whatever reason. Another thing is that materials of a paranormal nature were going to be quite hard to come by outside of what you could recover from the field, so it your troops are likely going to be fighting inhuman monsters with whatever your funding and engineering facilities can handle. On the bright side, you weren't the only organization out there doing their damn best to defend humanity. Though on the other hand, those organizations probably aren't going to take you very seriously at first, most likely seeing you as an upstart who doesn't yet understand the forces they're dealing with.

They would be right of course, but still. You feel the aircraft, a prototype rapid response troop transport leant to your taskforce, land and the troop bay doors open to a large hanger bay with enough space for the "Skyranger" and four interceptors. You were greeted by a man kitted out for combated. "Welcome to HQ Commander, we're still setting up but most of our facilities are up and running. I'm Central Officer Williams. My role here is twofold, providing tactical support for our field operations, and keeping you briefed on the current situation." he said, and you can't help but feel that those lines were rehearsed or something.

Anyway, Williams leads you through some of the already active facilities such as the Barracks and Armory. It was when you got to the Research Labs that you met more of your staff. You saw two people, one being a woman with a tablet tucked under her arm, and the other was a grey haired man wearing a black suit with a silver pin with some odd engraving on it. The two appeared to be in some form of discussion. They both noticed you and Williams and put a halt to their conversation.

"Commander, It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Doctor Alexandria Vale and I am head of the project's scientific research and development team." said Alexandria before nodding towards the man in the suit.

"Greetings Commander! I am Edward Felix Anderson, head of the more mystical side of things here in our little order of monster hunters." the man introduced himself. "While Dr. Vale and our head of engineering handle augmenting our troops with tech, my artificers and I will endeavor to enhance them through more unconventional means." You nod, guessing those unconventional means were related to magic or other supernatural things.

After that, Williams takes you down to engineering as Dr. Vale and Anderson continue their conversation where it left off. "The mystic facility, or "Sanctum" as Anderson calls it, isn't active yet so he and his people have been staying with our research staff, a few people had some discussions over the supernatural, Vale and Anderson included." Explained Williams.

When you arrived to Engineering you saw a woman in an engineering uniform working on one of the machines, a fabricator you think. "Come on, work with me... There!" she said as she did something and the fabricator started up.

She got up after closing the panel she was working on and turned around, and giving a squeak of surprise at seeing you and Williams. "Oh, Commander and C.O. Williams, I didn't hear you come in! Welcome to Engineering, I'm Hana Hagane, I'm the head of Engineering. Down here we can build whatever the labs can think up, provided we have the necessary resources of course. Though if you want anything magical, you're going to need to chat with Felix." Hana said.

After that, Williams took you to Mission Control, a room filled with monitors and techs manning them, along with a massive holographic. "This is Mission Control, Commander. From here you can scan for supernatural activity and deploy our troops via the Skyranger. We currently lack the means of procuring another Skyranger due to its experimental nature, so we can't handle more than one operation outside the nation our HQ resides in. We can however deploy multiple teams within that nation's borders."

Now that you thought about it, where was your HQ located?

[]- U.S.A, North America: Air & Space. All aircraft and aircraft weapons cost 50% less to purchase, build and maintain.
[]- Philippines, Asia: Future Combat. All projects in the Foundry and the Officer Training School cost 50% less
[]- Poland, Europe: Expert Knowledge. Laboratories and Workshops cost 50% less to build and maintain.
[]- Congo, Africa: All In. Monthly project funding increased by 30%
[]- Brazil, South America: We Have Ways. Autopsies and Interrogations are completed instantly

Well, glad that was cleared up. Williams takes you to one last room. "Hagane calls it the "Situation Room", here we can keep track of all the Council Nations "Panic Levels". Along with this, she had what the men have begun calling the "Doom Tracker", letting us know how many members o the council have fully withdrawn funding from the project. If too many nations withdraw, the project will be scraped." said Williams. You sighed, looks like you had your work cut out for you. "Oh, and Commander? The Council has finally agreed on a name. its..."

What is the Project's name?
[]-Write In.

Turn 1
Turn 1

You were in your quarters when Williams called to let you know that the HQ was fully operational and the first troops were in. Around a dozen brave men and women from across the globe were now under your command and it would be up to you to give them orders and make the calls that would decide their fates. The special equipment also came in and would cut down the costs of the Foundry and Officer Training Schools in half, once they were constructed of course. Why neither of those were already built eluded you, but you will not continue to question it, as you have better things to do.

(+12 Rookies, Foundry and O.T.S. projects cost 50% less)

Currently Dr. Vale was limited in her research capabilities due to lack of research material and staff, the Research Labs were actually quite empty now that the mystics had moved to their Sanctum. She did have a few research projects though based on some odd materials that have started to crop up around the globe and the Council was willing to lend. Whatever this stuff is, it is extremely durable, light weight, and somewhat magical. Along with that is some strange crystalline substance that produces quite a lot of power. This has be dubbed "Aetherite" by the Mystics.

(+10 Exotic Material. + 10 Aetherite.)

Meanwhile, the Sanctum is very quiet since they had an even smaller staff compared to any other department, though Felix didn't seem to mind all that much. There also a variety of Relics the few "Magi" brought with them, most belonging to Felix himself. Apparently studying these Relics would give the S.C.F. a deeper understanding into the strengths and weaknesses of the supernatural, and even potentially uncover something thatwould give the troops and edge.

(+10 Relics.)

Engineering was already a buzz with activity compared to the previous departments, with engineers working on the machines that would supply your soldiers with weapons, ammo, and equipment. Hagane had already taken an inventory and found that while we didn't have much in the research and magic, tech was of little issue. Ceramic Plating, Med-kits, Laser Sights, Hi-Cap and Drum Mags, Rockets, and a variety of Grenades were in a virtually unlimited supply. Plus a large amount of Ballistic Weaponry and Rocket Launchers, you even had Sawed-Off Shotguns.

(All Starting Equipment Available, Ballistic Weapons Unlocked, Tac Vest/Armor Unlocked.)

Finally you arrive to Mission Control, Central Officer Williams nodding to you. According to him you had two Satellites awaiting launch. These satellites were apparently were how you were going to keep an eye out for Supernatural activity. They had been modified by the mystical side of the S.C.F. to be able to detect the normally hard to detect creatures and magical signatures of magic users. "What are your orders, Commander?" Williams asked.

Let's see...

Change Log 1
  1. Changed the Engineers so that each Engineer decreases cost by 5%, you can only assign a total of 5 Engineers to construction.
  2. days have been turned into Turns.
  3. When you have a Satellite over a Council Nation, the Bonuses will be displayed in the Situation Room.
  4. So long as you have a single Nation backing you, the Project will continue to be active.

Turn 1.2, Mission Select.
You gave out your orders and had the Satellites deployed in orbit above the United States and Japan, giving you better coverage and hopefully adding some extra cash. Hagane already had the Motion Tracker built and had her crew were working on building the new Interceptor, while Dr. Vale and Felix were working on creating some new weapons and studying up on Monster Lore. The new Scientists, Engineers, and Mystics arrive after a week and settle in or try to help with the current projects.

(+4 Scientists, +2 Mystics, +4 Engineers. USA: +$160 per Turn, Japan: +$150 per Turn. +1 Motion Tracker)

As for getting more Funding, the Council was waiting for you to prove that you could handle the task and was going wait until three successful operations until giving anymore funding than what you would get normally.

(Additional Funding Will Be Given After Three Successful Missions)

Speaking of missions, there was surprisingly little activity, it had be twenty eight days since you began scanning and not a blip of anything has shown up on the hologlobe. You were starting to wonder if the system was experiencing a bug when you got two alerts. The first was in the United States in a small suburban area. According to the data coming in about the area, numerous folks were found drained of their blood and... oh crap, one of the attacks were caught on tape. A man was attacked at a gas station and a security camera caught a glimpse at what Felix identified as a feral vampire, one that has completely lost itself to bloodlust and was now just a very dangerous animal. The mission was simple, close in on the vampire's lair and eliminate it. The other alert was in your backyard, turns out a large number of ghouls were raised by a novice necromancer. You can send a squad to both, but who would you send? You could also just ignore the vampire to focus squarely on the ghouls, but that'll raise the panic in the US and the rest of North America.

[]-Send a Squad to both operations
-[] Who goes to deal with the Vampire?
-[] Who goes to deal with the Ghouls?
[]-Sent everyone to deal with the Ghouls.

Hey ShieldCrown.
Can we add write-in actions?
sure.

Operation: Frozen Thorn. pt.1
January 28th, 20XX.
Ohio, United States
6:00 p.m.

You watch through the mission cameras attached to each of your troops as they move out of the Skyranger and head over to the front of the house. It was two stories tall and most likely had a basement and attic. According to reports a family of three had wanted to buy the house, but they "luckily" they "found" a better deal. You knew better though and figured someone pulled some strings to make sure no one interfered. Each trooper was equipped with assault rifles, pistols, and a grenade. Joseph was on point with Amelia, Lena, and Luna following close behind. The squad of rookies line up next to the front door, two on each side. "No signs of activity Commander." Joseph radios in. "What are our orders sir?"

You look over the map you managed to get of the house.

The vampire is likely in the basement, probably the darkest part of the house. Though the attic is a possibility now that you think about it.

Operation: Frozen Thorn. pt.2
"Move in, quietly." you command. Joseph nods and silently opens the door... or tries to anyway. Turns out the door wasn't willing to cooperate with you and Joseph had to force it open, making a small bit of noise. Joseph and the others then went inside, finding the house surprisingly cleaner than expected, it still looked like an abandoned house, but there was an unusual lack of debris. Joseph then moves and opens the door in the east room. The squad goes into overwatch and waits to see if the vampire comes for them. When nothing happened after a few tense seconds, you have Joseph and Amelia go into the room, making sure not to block the door. It looked like a kitchen, but worn and missing some appliances. The closet was in fact the pantry, and when Joseph opened it.

"JESUS CHRIST!" Joseph said while stepping back as through his camera you saw the pantry filled with corpses of animals, all drained of blood. It was mostly vermin, but there was also a few cats and a dog as well. They were in various states of rot and decay, you pretty sure the stench must be horrible on the squad's end. "Well, that's a little fucked up." said Amelia while looking at the corpse pile. Meanwhile, Luna and Lena were searching the other rooms, finding them all filled with similar sights.

"Well, apparently going feral means they don't care about littering." said Luna, while Lena seemed gave her an odd look. "That's what you say to this?" the English woman asked, to which Luna just shrugged. All the rookies stop what their doing however when they hear movement. "Command, that doesn't sound like one Foxtrot Victor." says Joseph and then you hear the sound of a door being busted open. "And I don't think they're happy we're here."

It was Luna and Lena who saw them first. There was three of these things, and they looked wrong.

Well now, that did not look human. In fact, the mere sight of it filled you with a sense of primal hatred, as though their very existence offended you. Felix swiftly informs that is not a normal response, in fact you should be mirroring Lena's reaction. The poor girl was panicking screaming her head off. "HOLY SHIT, KILL IT, KILL IT RIGHT BLOODY NOW!" she shouted before opening fire at the trio of monsters. The rest of the squad swiftly followed her lead, opening fire with their assault rifles. Two of the beasts managed to dodge and get out of the way, but one of them was hit in the shoulder and was bleeding, which meant you can kill it.
