A Heretek on the Quest for Knowledge [40k] [Complete]

I'm thinking maintenance, ork burning, and the 3d Carver. One more day of healing and eating before we seek out combat. Then a day or recon, then hit the com hub the next day, assuming things work out. We want 2 days of food on hand for that trip.

Honestly what I'd like to do is make an exoframe or robotic walker that can haul large amounts of gear, food, water etc. That way we can take more equipment when we leave and don't have to start from scratch if we need to set up a new basecamp.
@BurnNote
Would it be possible to use the lasrifle battery as a power source? The things have stupidly high energy density and can be charged by even ambient heat or light.

[X]Maintenance
[X]Ork burner
[X]Theory craft whilst relaxing

I made up theory crafting, but basically the idea is that our guy thinks and plans without using any resources. Hopefully gives us a bonus to a future decision.

[X]Maintenance, second take: With your new tool, you should be able to fix some of the linger damage from the fall. (heal medium injuries)

[X]Research Ork burning. You've figure out how to eat Orks, indirectly. Maybe you can feed them to your machines, indirectly. (You can make a generator that runs directly on Ork corpses. Significantly more efficient than using hydroponics+promethium refinery)

[X]Built the tools to built the tools. You have the most basic stuff. Now it's time to expand further
-[X] 3d carver (Cost: 1 metal. Needs fuel to function)

It doesn't recharge fast enough to do anything you can't already do.

Ok, I going to veto this unless you get a bit more specific in what you want to think about. It would be a pain to write otherwise.

anything that needs to work by killing orks is ok in my book.

In regards to the 3d carver and micro-furnace, what construction options are opened by having them (along with a source of power)?

Also have our current augmentics detect any nearby sources of power etc that we might be use/tap into? I mean this is a Hive city. If there is a forgotten sewage/water line right here there might be a power-line in a vicinity that we could use.

3d carver allows for large scale projects (i.e making a tank [not a great tank, but a tank still], or producing large number of things). The micro-furnace allows for more advanced components. If you want to make batteries, for example.

Searching for a powerline is a viable write-in for the Wander option. Just remember that this place has the shit kicked out of it several times over. It's possible, but not easy.

Batteries? Power supply that we can take with us.:)

So can we detect any currently or would we need to make a tool to do so? And when I say detect them, I mean at some distance like if one uses the held-held auspexs you see everywhere.

-[X] Your cybernetics are good but best to have proper tools. Construct a held-held auspex which should help any searches down in this maze.

I am going to give @jwolfe_beta s plan a name and expland on the write-in a bit.

--[X] Your cybernetics are good but your auspex holding mecadendrite was totally wrecked and then converted for scrap so we cannot look for a propper power line efficiently. Construct a auspex which we can plug in directly into our unused mechadendrite port or built into a new mechadendrite when we have one. Dispite how we could grow to like the smell of burning orcs in the morning it is hardly practical in the long term. The auspex should help reduce the time on any searches we conduct in this maze.

We're out of metal so I want to be extra ready for the next exploration. Building furnace and ork burner will leave us with zero metal to work with. If we build promethium refinery (we need it for promethium anyway, even if we find power line or build ork burner), we can have some promethium by tomorrow. Enough for a limited use flamethrower or a few incendiary grenades, I hope, that we can make the next morning from the last metal unit before wandering around.
We can rebuild lasrifle to sniper las, probably, but with all that blurriness I think we can't aim properly.

[X] Plan A Day of Spa Relaxation
[X]Run an extensive self-check. Extra-venerate your metal parts, poke fleshy parts with a needle, build a few simple med-auspex.And a power line detector while you're at it. Well, it'll be easier and more useful to make a fairly universal multispex, so you'll do just that. Then you self-check your thinking process for logical inconsistencies and memetic corruption. (I expect this to add some bonus to maintenance check and reveal hidden problems if we missed any)

-[X]promethium refinery (Cost: 1 metal. Turns food into fuel)

As for long-term strategies i see two alternatives:
1. Fast and stealthy. Build us some omnispex to find our way around dangers, simple robomule to carry loot, crawl our way to comm-tower and take a look what we have out there.
2. Slow and steady. Build a tank and a decent amount of explosives, frak up local ork tribe for good, find some underlings and roll to the comm-tower like a boss.
I'm in favor of a first one. I have a feeling time is of the issue.

Also, Combat perk
Always outnumbered never outgunned Combat 50xp
You are counted as a small band for purpose of roll bonus/malus when it's beneficial to you.

50xp because I've yet to see a roll modifier like this.
