Frankly with the bs that is 40k, the only way to really win is to speed run. Otherwise you will be a broken PTSD filled mess by the end.
And it would be way too broken to fix. Just patch it up with temporary measures that won't last long and break down again.

I wanted to do something with Asoiaf for ages, but couldn't decide till now.
Then I've been reading Hiver and with Lower Decks out, Star Trek is tempting too.
And finally, I have been wanting to use Deus Ex for years too, but it is a surprisingly difficult match up. The techsphere is underpowered in a lot of match ups, but suddenly becomes OP with Helios and Universal Constructors.
