I understand why people would want to keep the Stormcrown name, but Robert has been so good to us. Why don't we take on the Baratheon name and give him one last honor? We can always make our second son take on the name of Stormcrown. I want to give BBB this at least.
So that he isn't remembered as a complete fuckup.

Time to take the throne. now I wonder if it would be better to take the Baratheon name. It may help later if we try not to shove the fact that we are a bastard in the realms face and maybe make it easier to deal with the Stromlands. On the other hand I like Stromcrow name better.
Who wants to take bets on the reaction from Rob and Catelyn. I think it will help our relationship with Catelyn but it will most like double the amount of Rob's salt. Just when he was starting to come around too.

If possible it would be fantastic to take on both names. Just as Oberyn's house name is Nymeros Martell, so should our name be Baratheon-Stormcrown.
Otherwise, please, please, please consider taking the name of Baratheon.
Not only will it smooth things over with the rest of the realm (so that it doesn't look like a bastard is inheriting the Iron Throne), it will also do what we can for Bobby B. In another world we would have married his daughter and become his son-in-law.
Let us become his son of the spirit even if we can't be of his body.

I'm not going to descend into pestering people about this, so I'll just say this final bit:
The knee jerk response is to pick Stormcrown, and it is a fine choice. It does stay true to what we are, which is neither truly Stark nor Targaryen. It is also doing Arlan honor and establishes us as our own man. So those of you voting for Stormcrown, I get it.
But we're also a pragmatic fella, and inheriting as a Baratheon avoids a succession crisis a la Renly or the Storm bastard. More importantly through, it gives Robert Baratheon our honest regard for the magnanimity that he is showing to us today. The man's gone from one fuckup to another and this might be the only decent decision that he makes. He's lost Stannis and his niece and nephew and his so-called children too. In a kinder world, he would have been our father in law and frequently has stated that he would have liked for us to be his son.
So let us return a gift just as great and give him a reason to keep living.

Plus, it kind of addreses the Renly issue. Someone named Baratheon on the throne is less a shock than someone named Stormcrown on the throne.
