A Dragon of the North VIII: Whispers of War

[X] Cerenna Lannister - "A daughter of the west, a cousin toe the royal children. Her uncle hopes to persuade me with a bountiful dowry."

Because she wants to be snarky we will just troll her. Also Droman says that it is not locked in.

why should we defend ourselves to her, no really why should we. We did what we did because we though it to save lives and set out for our goal. We know our limit we are one of the best swords in the Kingdoms, what would be reckless for others is not so for us.
Go get some sleep dude.

We need to defend ourselves to her because she's incredibly influential, and her opinion of us will help others for their opinions of us for the first time.

Because we either want to marry her granddaughter or enjoy her positive/non-negative opinion of us in Tyrell internal politics.

Starting to put together a points for a Write-in.

- In battle decisiveness is necessary but can be easily confused for recklessness. But Recklessness is action without thought and everything we've done has been well considered.
- But outside of battle look to what Jon's done. Restored and rebuilt Harenhal, now the most prosperous city in the Riverlands etc

Thoughts? Additions? I need a bit of help here.

Too pompous. Tone it down some. Olenna won't like or tolerate grandstanding.

Harrenhal isn't quite a prosperous city yet, but it is getting there, which is something to good to mention.

Maybe tell her she's confusing recklessness with ambition. Some ambition is necessary in life, especially when you start it as a bastard. What may seem foolish to some is actually a desire to prove ourselves worthy of our name.

It's not quite a city yet. That said, the first point isn't quite true in regards to everything we've done being well-considered.

I also want to include something about the reason that we took those risks was out of necessity. We've gone from being a nobody to being a somebody through daring/force of arms/blood and sweat, whereas other lords simply had to be born to it.

*is terrible at this*

I am at work for another 3 hours and I have drank like 7 red bulls in the last 20 hours. Ok, defending ourselves against her makes us the weaker party our goal should be to but her on the defense. Look at cannon or the show, what she respects in Tywin lannister. We need to present ourselves as someone clever and smart.

[X] Play it Safe -"A surprise is a surprise, even to myself."

Mya was a good friend.I don't think she would want Jon to throw away his chance for a good marriage.

Actually, I want to keep it a secret now. I want to blindside Joffrey by keeping rumors about who we intend to crown at a minimum, and then remind him at the tourney that we haven't forgotten about his sins.

I don't think she would want Jon to throw away his chance for a good marriage.
...it's not though?

We could play up the vulnerable grieving hero here. :V

Combonation of things from Rolz (and here) and written stuff so feedback on the direction of the argument rather than the wording please.

- In battle decisiveness is necessary and can be easily confused as recklessness. But Recklessness is action without thought and our actions have been well considered. The rewards have always outweighed the risks.
- I fear you confuse arrogance and recklessness with ambition and the ability to see action through.
- Those not born to good fortune must show ambition or amount to nothing. We've gone from being a nobody to being a somebody through daring/force of arms/blood and sweat, whereas other lords simply had to be born to it.

Harrenhal - We were protecting family. Isn't that a highly regarded trait in House Tyrell?

King's favour - We did our duty for the king, wouldn't House Tyrell do the same if asked by His Grace?

etc. We could go that route, that would put her on the defensive, but it might not be the best course of action.

[X] Mya Stone - "A dear friend, perhaps. One never forgotten."

My only worry is that people might read too much into this, such as Cersei thinking that she's got more evidence of us being another of Robert's bastards. Still, I think it's probably the safest option right now.
