A Dragon of the North V: The Stormcrown Knight

No, no nothing is changed. Well, besides the totality of what I expected, but yeah.
So basically Jon just started a bunny peg-leg factory and ate a huge bowl of four-leafed shamrock salad before doing something insane again.

As usual.

I love those kinds of quest. This is quickly becoming my second most favorite one, right after Warhammer Dynasty.

I'm just hoping it means we get to personally kill Ungren and deliver his various body parts to the Upcliffs, Royces, and Bryden's grave.

"You get a leg, you get another leg, you get his spleen, you get the liver, Brynden(/Bryden) gets the head, Lord Royce gets the heart, you get the braindead eagle, and you get the arms! Perfect!"

Sometimes, Arthur Dayne worried for the young Jon Snow...

Well assuming we do manage to kill Ungren then what will happen to the eagle is the exact opposite of brain dead.

Ungren can find a second life as an eagle if we manage to kill him.

Well, at least we now know what Jon is having for dinner after the battle.

It'd so much more awesome if we suddenly developed skinchanging powers, skinchanged into the eagle that Ungren was trying to use as a second life, and mentally obliterated the remnants of Ungren's psyche, and suborned that eagle to our will.

Of course narratively speaking that would be stupid, so it is incredibly unlikely to happen, but man that would be satisfying as fuck.

Let's do it by the Asian way.

Cut off Ungren's liver and eat it. And if we also manages to kill Euron in future, do a same thing to him.

Update 115: Now For Wrath, Now For Ruin
115: Now For Wrath, Now For Ruin
Nearly two weeks pass as the siege lengthens, as Ser Edmure patiently awaits the arrival of the final reinforcements and the construction of the trebuchet. Unfortunately unlike Lord Yohn, Ser Edmure did not possess a natural or battle-hardened education of siege warfare, which extended itself to the construction of the trebuchets.

While the men proceeded admirably in regards to cutting down and preparing the wood necessary for construction, their completion delays. Similar delays abound from the arrival of reinforcements, as many had split off into separate bands travelling across in all manner of directions , a matter which was both frustrating and understandable.

Still, while lengthy these delays were not unexpected, with other preparations to protect the camp occurring rather smoothly, with anti-cavalry stakes and caltrops constructed and placed surrounding the entirety of the camp. While not exactly perfectly done, it was more than serviceable and prove a hindrance to any of Ungren's night-time attacks in the near future... if there would have been any, that is.

For nearly two weeks he had remained silent in Tyr's Cliff, almost an unmentioned spectre against the camp's daily routines and attitudes, his men rarely seen or heard from the parapets of the keep. It kept the men uneasy, on alert, on watch for anything.

And that attitude would keep many alive as well when an attempt to sneak up to the lines of the camp of hundreds of his men was noted and duly reported to Ser Edmure, resulting in a deadly, dangerous night-time melee at the very walls of the camp.

Hundreds of Ungren's men fall outside the walls in fighting with Ser Edmure and Lord Belmore's infantry, the press of men heading northwards from the camps to engage Ungren and his men, who for their part fight solidly and retreat slowly up the cliff as your own men chase them, hungry for blood and battle.

You watch all of this from the camp, having only be awoken by Ser Arthur as they were discovered, the battle's circumstances changing rapidly before your eyes. As Ungren's forces retreat further and further up, they enter the range of their own archers who rain down arrows down upon your men, largely the swords and axes of the Vale rather than the bows or horses.

The battle is becoming more of an equal fight as the cliff's narrow and Ungren's men gain some small advantages, but you note the keen press of the Valemen and think that tonight might be the night that victory comes.

And then you hear the screams to the south of you, the sounds of a great cavalry host charging across the grasslands in great fury and rage, dozens falling to caltrops and crumpling to the earth even as they push onwards.

Men rush back from the northern fronts, once headed to join the mass of men there, now wishing to avoid a sword in their back. You stand almost alone as Ser Arthur asks for an order, your mind almost dazed from your fitful slumber and the circumstances that present themselves to you.

What will you do?

[] Go Southeast - The eastern edge of the camps was where Ser Uther Upcliff had camped, joined by survivors of Tyr's Cliff and other rag-tag groups, it is the weakest front. Head there to keep it from collapse.

[] Go North - Ungren's men made to strike through there first before falling back, and you suspect Ser Edmure is likely to make his place there as well. Fight your way through to them and find Ungren if possible.

[] Go Northwest - Lord Belmore holds the western edge of the encampment and with it a strong number of men. Rally them and head south to face the enemy horse.

[] Go South - Hundreds of horsemen have fallen upon the southern borders of the camp. Right now they are delayed by cavalry stakes, caltrops and what few warrirors are available there, but it might crumble before any reinforcements arrive. You will hold them there with Ser Arthur until such help comes.

Damn. That last roll was for Ungren's cavalry, then?

Unleash your war cry, Jon Stormcrown. Stop their charge flat with what others would think to call overwhelming force .

Knew we needed the cavalry stakes, hopefully they give us enough time. This might be another time for animal allegiance, although we will need to step back a bit to avoid he chaos caused.
