2025-AT-08: Staff and Aleksey A E

(Also, sometimes you'll see a "Permanently Suspended" badge on someone who's self-requested it for personal reasons. Obviously, those are also not announced.)
I was looking up another thread and noticed that a user in it has an official "Self Requested Ban" banner. It's actually the first and only one that I've seen but it appears to conflict with the above?

Is it correct to guess that the self-request tag is new and that is what will be applied going forward? And anyone who previously requested will remain with the "Permanently Suspended" badge?

I probably should have asked this in a new thread, but since it's a follow-up to the info I quote, I decided to be lazy....

@Datcord While you're here, something I've been wondering: what's the deal with that "Account Rejected" banner that showed up one time? Someone made a thread here asking about it, but it never received any form of reply, not sure that staff ever noticed/read it

That sounds like the sort of line with a story behind it.

-Morgan.
Guy wrote a story about nations fighting a war against Madoka style magical girls. There was a scene where they killed a magical girl and destroyed her grief seed by putting the girl in a hydraulic press.

This spawned a huge argument about if a hydraulic press could even destroy a grief seed, which drew the attentions of the mods who pointed out that putting little girls in a hydraulic press was not appropriate for SV.

I never read the story in question it was before my time, but I've heard what happened roughly. My understanding is that the scene with the hydraulic press was written in a way that made the powers that be also suspect it may have been fetishistic as well.

John Smith is kind of a wild story in general but a full recounting probably isn't appropriate for this thread (or considering some of the other 'content' he created that would warrant bringing up in a discussion about the man, SV as a whole. His illuminati vs magical girls and its hydraulic presses are, surprisingly, not actually the worst thing he ever wrote, just what everyone remembers because it's the only one that got a tribunal.)
