2017-2018 Community Council Nominations

The Community Council is an elected body of users whose job is to provide an outside voice and input into Sufficient Velocity's policies and decision-making, to bring to staff attention concerns of our users that they might not feel comfortable expressing directly to Staff, and to sit on Tribunal hearings. They have access to the report queues and are held to a code of conduct concerning any private material they may be exposed to.

The Council elections are a two-stage process, held yearly in August, which means it is time for this year's to begin.

In this first stage, we are soliciting nominations for possible candidates. Staff can't nominate people, but everyone else is welcome to, and almost any user of Sufficient Velocity can be nominated.

The exceptions are:

Staff members
Users who have already served two consecutive terms on the Council
Users who have explicitly requested to not be nominated
Permanently banned users
People barred from service on the Council due to misconduct as a Council member

The twenty four users with the most nominations will be placed on a ballot, with the top twelve vote getters becoming the 2017-2018 Council. In the event that either the nomination or election to the Council is declined, the next highest total will be chosen. In the event of ties, the user who received their nominations first in time will be chosen.

If you wish to nominate candidates for the Council, please post that nomination in this thread. The rules are as follows:

You may only post once.
You may nominate up to two people.
You may edit your post up until the closing date when the nominations are counted.
Your post MUST contain only the usernames of the users you wish to nominate, on separate lines, and nothing else.
Failure to follow the rules will result in your post being deleted and may result in bees.
