@Aranfan : Can I assume that with our high Bureaucracy (commerce) that whatever money making thing we choose it will somewhat suitable for the area. It would be best if whatever we sell is in high demand here.

Also can we figure out what the most labor saving invention we can make for the kingdom?

I have a suspicion that advancements to agriculture might actually be more important than industrial advances. More advanced agriculture means not only more food per acre, but also more food per worker. Which in turn means a truly massive amount of manpower suddenly becoming available for other things (namely, industry), if your society was 90% farmers beforehand.

It might be worthwhile then when we start our printing business to publish practical guides about agriculture and various crafts. Something to give the masses a reason to read.

The only problem is, I don't know if Liberalism actually knows much that's applicable here. If I had to guess there are probably a lot more gods of grain and strange rituals involved in agriculture in Creation than on Earth.
 
I am going to vote for starting the newspaper. It makes money and help raise literacy.

We might even start a cult by having an editorial section.

Incidently we are going to have to keep an eye on our newspaper. There are linguistic charms that would basically allow someone to mind control our entire readership.

Not in third. Solar mass mind control got massively nerf'd in third. It would also require that you or the editor you appoint publishes said "letter to the editor".
 
Maybe don't need worry that much about people using the printing press for mind control. It is a high level solar charm with many prerequisites and doesn't allow anything close to mind control.

Best forget the Bessemer process for now.

We're in the wrong corner of Creation to start an industrial revolution instead of a social one, and besides, the objective is to further the cause of liberalism, not communism. We'll have to be exceptionally careful when industrializing.

Printing press would be a nice way to start getting things moving socially without immediately jumping into politics. By selling a bunch of them we'll have more impact since it won't restricted to just newspapers. And we'll probably make less enemies by not establishing a monopoly and really you can't have a democracy with only one source of news.

One way to do this would be comic books. They are interesting to young people who can learn language easier.
 
Our first newspapers are going to be aiming at the upper class seeing as they can read, but by selling printing presses books will become much more common in general.

Also we are going to want to find someone to teach us old realm.
