The Argent-Eyed Heiress (Naruto/Exalted)

Darn. We were giant clam blocked. But that was so cute we have a poncho for our wings qwq what saint decided to be our Fairy Godmother?

If someone wants to write up a giant clam thing, I'll be happy to include it in the form library. She did eat one and her food was getting rawer and rawer. :V

That still sound like it means that Exalts shouldn't have any innate physical or mental merits, except maybe exalt healing since that's part of the exaltation itself.

And The byakugan is most certainly an innate physical merit.

Let's just call bloodline abilities specialized biological artifacts. I mean, that's kind of what they're treated as in the Narutoverse: they can be stolen, require an essence commitment, and, as per 3E, even have their own associated charmtech tree.

Was Hinata taking on the negative mutations that make her eat more so that she wasn't burning through motes to transform?

Accidentally, but yes.

If/when aomeone does, I hope they include pearl making ability. Because:
1) Pearls can be used as antacids, and were used as such in real life. So, using Naruto-shonen logic, pearl generation might protect against acid release.
2) Spit cannonballs.

-[X] According to her father, 'the Gentle Fist and the Byakugan would be all she ever needed.' Whether this was true or not, they were at the core of her skills, and so she would use them here, against a true master. Palm against palm, form against form, and eye against eye. And if her eyes now held a new power... Well, who could blame her for showing to her father how she could more than see with her doujutsu?

She had… she had turned into… a p-p-pig in front of the Lord Hokage! A flying pig!
Giant murder birds are okay but pigs aren't? How so?

She wrote the character for peace on her hand. Swallowed it. Did so a few more times until her breathing evened out as much as it was going to. It was an old tradition, except you were supposed to write the character 'person'. Hinata wasn't sure what the reasoning behind it was, and to stay safe, had long ago decided to eat peace instead, because eating people seemed like a risky habit to fall into.
I...am not sure what she means with 'swallowing'.

Her stomach growled, interrupting her. Hinata frowned then opened her eyes wide: she could feel things that were distressingly internal become distressing mobile, as if her sudden shapeshifting abilities were expressing themselves within her. When she put a hand to her stomach, she squeaked in surprise and then lifted the bottom of her ruined sweater: she would have sworn that, for a sliver of an instant, she could feel teeth where there hadn't been before.

But no, her stomach looked normal. Still, that was definitely a capital-c Concern.
Just be thankful you're not an Infernal with Malfeas or Adorjan favored.

Ah, I didn't realize how weird this'd sound without context.

Anyway, it's a popular Japanese charm to ward off anxiety or fear when performing in front of an audience. You'll see characters do it in anime all the time. You write the word '人' on your palm using a finger and then put your palm to your mouth as if swallowing it. The idea is, you're... actually, now that I think about it, I actually did forget the reasoning. It probably involves 'haha, I am a giant, and I just ate my audience, I have nothing to fear!'

I assume Attack on Titan is a pun based on it that got out of control.

Exalts have no need for dignity. You should be embarrassed when a solar beats the snot out of you when he's naked. Or maybe that's a form of super dignity, where it doesn't matter.

Anyway...

Also another vote for Giant Clam. The pearls are nice, but so would a shell.

(Also, the Maiden of Endings was mentioned. Are we going to see other Exalts as time progresses?)

-[X] It did not surprise Hinata that, when she met her father for breakfast, he was already perfectly aware of what happened yesterday. A presence of a living giant clam on the table, however, did. She did her best to kill and eat it as cleanly as possible, grateful for the delicacy, and aware of her father's eyes on her chakra. Only afterwards did she dare to bring out lord Jiraya's gift to show ner father and ask for help in understanding it - the private meditation chambers were not something she could just occupy on her own, and her father's eyes were far stronger than hers anyway.

-[x] The jyuuken will forever be part of you. However that does not mean it is all of you. Your power grants you the strength and shapes of the beasts you slay. Incorporate that into your approach, The murderbird's speed for one should be very useful. Will the boar's hide offer you any protection? Does shapeshifting interfere with someone else's attempts to manipulate your body? Find out by trying to muck up father's attempts to use jyuuken on you. Can you use jyuuken through a shifted limb?

So, there are two priorities here. One is impressing Hiashi, and two is actually training. I wish Hinata didn't have to constantly worry about performing to her father's ridiculous expectations, but she does. Incidentally, this is why I wanted to train with Hanabi- far less stressful, even if the training isn't quite as good.

Unfortunately, I forgot to actually come back and write up my reasoning. Oops. :V

For actually training, Orthodox is the best bet. However, Hiashi would be unlikely to be impressed by Hinata's relatively meager Juken abilities. He's already not too happy with her about the whole 'ate all the food' thing. And the flying pig thing, probably. So, best not to go this route.

Technique may just piss him off, but it might be better to do that now, because the fact that Hinata won't be sticking to Juken isn't going to change. Good for practicing said techniques against a superior opponent.

Speed is the best bet at impressing him, I think, because Hinata is definitely a lot faster than a normal genin. Hell, she's faster than Neji. If anything would impress him, it'd be this. As for training, it places a heavy emphasis on silver chakra. I'd prefer she put at least some focus on juken and other techniques, however.

So, I think I'll go with-

-[x] Mix it up, use everything available to you. Your father wants to see what you can do, so show him.

The idea being to retain a focus on speed, but use that speed to show off everything she can. This also provides excellent training for combining all her various forms of combat together.

... Also I kind of want to see his face if she turns into a bird and then a pig and then lands on him. :V

...Huh. I've just realised Hinata doesn't have Moonsilver Tattoos. Whilst she (presumably) won't be encountering Wyld Patches in Konoha, there are a few more implications of this, aren't there? Including potential Chimerism, IIRC.

I thought Chimerism was a result of the Wyld, because Luna's chosen didn't have fixed castes in the First Age.

We're using TAW rules rather than the core lunar book. Chimerism works differently and moonsilver tattoos are part of our anima flare now.

I wonder... Can Hinata use Gentle Fist through limbs manifested? Like could Hinata use Gentle Fist with her wings? Because if she can... that's two extra limbs to use with improved reach.
Part of why they use their hands is because their fingers have the finest control. I imagine that using limbs further from that will be much harder, and using nonhuman limbs will be even harder.

Then again, eventually Hyuuga techniques involve expelling chakra from every tenketsu on the body in combination, so probably feasible. It's a 'leap over the ocean' kind of hard, not a 'go faster than light' kind of hard.

We should find and kill a chameleon for its tongue. then we could fight Orochimaru tongue against tongue. Also, launch chakra-infused (potentially explosive) pearls we make (with our mollusk adaptation) at faster speeds.

As to the Doujutsu vote- considering it took three tries to knock Neji out with it, I doubt it'd do much to Hiashi.
It will have an effect. It's an aspect of our new power that can't be faulted by Hyuuga tradition - a development of an offensive doujutsu capability. Our Byakugan is so strong that we can destroy chakra without using our body, with just our eyes, at a distance. Even if right now the ability is weak, we have awakened it. That's a big accomplishment, and worthy of integration into our jyuuken in general.

Yes, lemme see...
Okay current list of animals we need to hunt and gain for our library:
Giant Clam
Giant Chameleon
Giant Tiger
Giant Centipede
Octopus Large to Giant

Ok, the clam is a normal thing, i.e. a naturally occurring animal with no magical powers even in IRL, and it's a critter they have the ability to find in their area, albeit a potentially expensive one.

Same for the octopi, although getting a big one might take some doing.

The Giant Tiger and Centipede are Forest of Death Natives, and we could grab the giant bear while we're in there, not sure what it has that the boar and tiger don't but it'd make a nice set of coats.

The problem is the chameleon, the only giant chameleons I know of in Naruto are summons, and thus may fall under the people category rather than the animal category, do Argent Witches need special charms to take the shapes of humans?

A regular chameleon might work but the traits may be too weak in the small version
