I was under the impression that the focus of 'shit is too big' is still more on the Shikai than the unreleased state even if it applies to both, since that was even more clunky-big in canon and Shikai has been the focus of Zangetsu's yakkin' about sizeplay just now in the update- and that Shikai won't be coming with size changing until after we win the bet. So between an unshrunken Shikai and unreleased, unreleased is the less huge/less bad option, relative of the goal of 'no but seriously let's stop catching this on stuff'. If the Unreleased sword has the same level of/propensity for catching on things all ungainly like as the pre-size-shifting Shikai, then it'd be nice to have that confirmed by @TPK, but otherwise I'll assume it's less bad about it just based on my recollection of how big each looked in the manga and whatnot, and how the chapters after Ichigo first decided to keep it unreleased read (to me).
In order to achieve Bankai you should ideally have a non-antagonistic relationship with your Sword Spirit and have mastered Shikai.

I've seen several people saying this in-thread but I got to ask; do we clearly and explicitly know this, that Shikai mastery is actually beneficial to Bankai training? I see the obvious path for making the assumption, but I was under the impression it was just that, an assumption rather than fact - that there was no point in the manga where they laid it down all bare and confirmed this rather than left it implied (like oodles of other things they left implied that Kubo later did fun twist stuff with or what have you) - and there are enough things in life that are so wildly different to handle in a red-line sense like Bankai to Shikai's less extreme output, that I don't feel it's fair to treat that as fact.

Isn't that a bit backwards - by that, I mean isn't it true that, since the messenger isn't likely to currently be there (since we're so proportionately far before the guesstimated arrival time) the earlier we go the earlier we lock in our message sans-updates without having to go back and spend another update on the same message? And further, isn't it true we don't actually have any specific reason to assume the messenger would be leaving without a message should Ichigo have not dropped one off yet? That seems like it'd be assuming jerky things about Kukaku, to think that she wouldn't even try to tap Ichigo/keep the messenger around if things came about such that the messenger arrived and there wasn't an already prepped message waiting.

Okay, take two:
  • Ichigo has two ways for his sword to be right now; Unreleased (generally looking like a normal katana but larger), and Shikai (giant wrapped butcher knife).
  • Currently even though Zangetsu can make itself the size of a knife as it demonstrated with its Shikai fuckery, it does not, and both states of the sword seem to be described as having static dimensions.
  • Between Ichigo's current Unreleased sword, and his current Shikai, are they equally long, or is one longer than the other?

You know, is one larger/does one catch on stuff more than the other, between Katana-state and Giant-Butcher-state - that's the question.

Seems like something he'd definitely know, like someone knowing which shirt's thicker fabric, and I don't believe I've seen it commented on in-update.

We're not currently going talking about going to Kukaku for the messenger: Kukaku has a guest she thinks we should meet. That guest will not be around forever. Even if she's going to try to keep her guest around to meet Ichigo, eventually both she and the guest will assume Ichigo doesn't give a shit and isn't coming by.

Zangetsu made a good point, and he is, somewhat jerkishly, meeting Ichigo half-way on the size thing. Time to be the bigger person.

To get Bankai without the bullshit 3 day mad science thingy, we're going to have to learn to manifest Zangetsu's spirit in the real(ish) world. Walking around with our Shikai active all the time might or might not help with that, but it probably won't hurt.

I say we go with Shikai. Having Zangetsu a little more on our side might help a little.

Is Komamura's dog-dad/dog-grandad/whatever that was or family going to be utilized more here? Is there any way to make sure Karin and Yuzu(more so Yuzu) can see us when we go see them? Can we give an epic beatdown to Goat-chin for not telling us jackshit? Is Chair-samaxAizen still a possible ship?

Is the Soul King an active influence here that we've yet to stumble across or is he sealed up in that crystal thing like in canon? Or is the Royal Guard more active or bigger/smaller than they were in canon? Is the 1000 Year Blood War a possibility and if so, how'd Ichigo's death and his possible Quincy powers going back to Ywach change things? Hell, is Xcution a thing?

Have there been any changes to Aizen's Hollow army or are they all going to be the players we've seen in canon? Have any of them gotten better dress sense(Looking at you Harribel/Halibel/Whatever)?

Since Ichigo died, that means no Fullbringer!Chad or Orihime's broken as fuck power, right? Or is there still potential for that to happen if/when we go back to Karakura since Ichigo is at least one of the things that helped jumpstart their powers in canon?

Chad and Orihime always had the potential to activate their powers the only thing Ichigo did was act as fertilizer with how he leaked spiritual pressure uncontrollably. He never had a roll in the actually form of their powers that was already formed from their personalities.
Or will Urahara still devise some way to bring some of Karakura's residents(not necessarily Orihime and Chad-Tatsuki, Keigo, Perverted Lesbian, and MILF-Hunter(I can never remember those two's names) were all underused from what I remember) into the game/war between him and Aizen in this Quest.

Urahara has no reason to bring regular humans into his revenge plan against Aizen.

Yes his Quincy powers are completely gone since the old mans missing. And even if he could learn how to use them he'd need both a Quincy teacher and a way to directly absorb that kind of reiatsu since he has no way to learn those kinds of tricks.

Ichigos soul was purified so he has completely normal Shinigami powers. Zangetsu might accept it depending how our relationship develops. Bankai's up in the air on how TPK wants to handle it.

Why would our death change who was sent we were a random human. Aizen is sad we didn't fully develop but knows it possible for a soul to have multiple powers, Urahara didn't have any plans that relied on us but can rely on Isshin again since he is regaining his powers. Why would our death affect the Vizard we're just a dude that died to a truck. Urahara always has plans, what makes Plan "Hide it in random shinigami" a no go.

Depends how do you normally change a society of elves that barely need to eat since everyone is already dead or start a revolution when you barely know anyone.Yes. Give the soul reapers a reason consider patrolling the outer district more more than a distraction form them hunting hollows.

Therapy and counseling. Gin can see Tosens the blind one he just squints allot and enjoys being shifty. Depends. They can both see Yuzu's vision is just more fuzzy, we can have dad or Karin rely whatever we say, and if she still can't Urahara can just temporarily make her a ghost. If we want. How could we tell we're not in the royal realm. Has their been any importaint discovers since we got here. Depends and it would power him up like normal and but also remove any influence he has on us. Xcution was always a thing they just had no reason to interact with us before we loss our powers Ginjo had the group for a couple years.

Aizens arm is big their could always be a new hollow, the EspadA are probably set though. Whats wrong with the arrancars fashion sense:
