Pitching a hissy fit because you don't get what you want is not likely to make people give you what you want
A lesson to both you and Zangetsu
This is not a hissy fit. This is us having an upcoming fight with a Captain. A brutal, ridiculously powerful, blood knight that
will kill us if we're not good enough to survive the fight.
No. This is
far from a hissy fit. This is bewilderment at the sheer lack of self-preservation instinct it takes to
willfully choose to not make amends with Zangetsu--to not be
anywhere near our best--when we have to fight
Zaraki Fucking Kenpachi, and instead go visit Kukaku "because Yoruichi, tho" (and that's assuming it's not just Ganju she's talking about right now and people aren't jumping the gun).
Sending a message back to Ichigo's family is all well and good, but being able to survive long enough to
go see them in person sounds a hell of a lot better.
All three of the options sound great, and I'd love to get to each of them eventually, but two of them will keep for four weeks, while one of them will help us get back in top form for a dangerous fight we
know is coming
but not when. When a life-and-death battle is on the horizon, but you don't know exactly when it will happen, treating it like it's right around the corner--even if it's not--and being prepared for it is a much better choice than the reverse.
On our current list of priorities, social calls (especially when they have such generous time limits) should rank below survival.
Now, some people may be saying "but Zangetsu would
never pull that shit in a
real fight", and they might be right. But they might also be wrong. I, for one, would like to never learn the answer to that particular question.
