The Argent-Eyed Heiress (Naruto/Exalted)

[X] reaching her eyes…

Lion-dog is awesome, but Hiashi's reaction when his kid's byakugan is so awesome she can kill people by staring at them is gonna be fantastic.

[X] reaching her eyes…

This will be much easier to explain than turning in a liondog.

It also fits the series as a whole much better. Eye powers and all that.

A Naruto quest by my second favorite absentee GM.....

[X] warping her flesh…
Charms: Totemic Self Announcement + Flicker Flash Flesh Phase. Appearance increased to 4. Caste: Changing Moon. Default Totem is a (physical) Lion Dog the size of a tyrant lizard. Because why not.

You had me at tyrant lizard.:V

And to be honest, most of Hinata's problems are social: lack of respect from her father, her sister or her cousin.
And a crush who likes her but doesn't like her like her, if you know what I mean.
Appearance 4 and her totemic anima power of awe both help with that pretty well.

Plus better social stats mean she can talk people into offering her training.

EDIT
And mutations + Jyuuken cover initial combat prowess pretty well.
Buy other things later.

Staring people to death is pretty awesome when you have 360° vision, even if it won't work through walls because the target also needs to see her.

Y'all are underestimating how amazing Hidden Devil Parade will be.
You're gonna have to explain that one. Almost all it's effects are aimed at immaterial beings. The only one that isn't is basically just going "Hey! Looks Over Here Guys!"

Charisma, Manip, and Appearance all have Charms that are really fun/useful for being a ninja. And we're going to favor Perception anyway, so we'll be picking up that one soon probably.

I'm mostly wondering how the Strength/Dexterity argument will go, as most of the combat charms are in there. Though the poison one from Wits can kinda make up for a lot on it's own.

Getting a Familiar is really tempting. Unfortunately I'm leaning towards a fox/Kitsune (And I say unfortunately because Naruto fandom). Mostly cause Social + Mental leanings.

I mean, if we were Rock Lee I'd be suggesting a Tengu or Oni, but... well, Hyuga Heiress.
Hybrid Nue + Forest Hunting during the skip. Anyone remember the tigers who can paralyze at a glance? :V Let's us take on mutations without actually changing into the creature fully.

Huh, Night Breeze Sigh's second purchase bypasses mote choking. Not sure if we'll want that or not.

Form-Reforming Restortion could hard-block the Gentle Fist actually. Which probably manifests as a Crippling effect.

... I find Night-Bridging Beacon adorable as far as Hinata goes. Basically lets her know where any positive intimacy she has is (kinda, to the nearest mile unless in another realm) and they can know where she is if they have a positive intimacy to her as well. Beloved Night-Oracle Technique. Fufufu~

Oh my. Tyrant's Heartfelt Hand. Team attacks~

And Moon Messiah Fever on the Hyuga Clan... Heh. Basically make them believe what we believe, or like us if they don't already.

Huh. Persuasive World Whisper. There are computers in Konoha. Basically makes it so we can order an object around like it's a person. It can't do anything it couldn't do normally though, a sword couldn't attack someone, but a window can open and close.

... Charisma is fucking terrifying. Arcadian Enclave Anthem; claim a space of land up to Charisma miles in radius and we build any intimacy into whoever lives there each day.

Just... all the Territory Charisma Charms. Good fucking god, those things are staggering in how useful they could be.

Huh. Proud Preacher Invitation + Everyone's Price Leverage will let us basically extract any information we want from a person, within some boundaries.

Elegance Beyond Imagining. Basically makes Appearance even better for Social and gives us even more intimacies to wreck havoc with.

Okay, Though Sweeping Eyelash-Broom will be hilarious. It basically takes the idea of "Look so good you distract your enemy" to an extreme.

Enticing Lullaby Mien could be useful as well. Let's us lower negative intimacies aimed at us and raise positive ones.

We will want Impossibility's Arrival. It's a surprise negator and Perception based to boot. You always want a Surprise Negator as Unexpected Attacks basically just blast through any defenses you might have.

Secret Path Step is interesting. It's an entry level charm and is basically a bargain bin Hirashin. You don't move any faster, but between point A and point B you just vanish. It doesn't go through obstacles either, but I remember there being both Strangth and... I think it was a Dexterity Charm that do.

Beast-Mind Transfusion is interesting as we could use it on our own Familiar to make them better. Anything except their Physical Attributes and Willpower is valid to increase up to our rating in the relevant stat. It's... honestly looks useful.

Cleverness Betrays is basically Impossibility's Arrival for Social battle.

Blood Curdling Ripple-Strike is really good for anyone we want dead. Deal a single level of damage and their body basically just falls apart. 4 Lethal damage per action, and mortals are really only going to have 7 Health boxes outside of Bloodlines enhancing their bodies and the like. That's nasty. It is a poison though, so it can be cured and found posthumously possibly.

This is part of TAW character creation too, yup. 3 Instinctive Attributes, 2 Favored Attributes. I'm going to say this upfront: Perception is a Favored (or instinctive) Attribute no matter what.

I actually thought about this in regards to something else. My final thought is a young Exalt doesn't know how to get to the perfect frame of mind to get the mote reactor up and running (burning through their Super Saiyan mode too fast for it to matter). Without a teacher to train her, the mote reactor is something that will only come about naturally if certain conditions are met.

For lunars, the easiest condition is 'adaptation.' If you consistently run low on motes and nearly die, for sure you'll slowly begin to gain the mote reactor anima (a low level mote reactor would be bonfire level only giving you 1 mote per action and so on). In theory, Gai would be able to train you in this as a side-effect of his normal training.
I feel the anima it too iconic for us to be locked out of. However while I forget the details of it Earthscorpion gave out rules at some point about how using the mote reactor is exhausting which means means characters can only run it for so many scenes before being unable to function. At stamina 2 she would probably collapse after a single scene of using the full anima, or even the mid power version. I believe it was stated that this was one of Keris's weaknesses in Kerisgame.

So the scene should go something like exaltation->kick ass->nap time.

Hmm.
With her style, training Dex to 5 would be a good thing too.

I should point out, Ninja can seemingly break the 5 dot limit on Attributes, as Lee has no jutsu, and 'definitely' as more than ten dots in Strength/Athletics.

Also, Dojutsu probably count as mutations that raise Perception by (at least) 1 dot, with other special abilities.

Well, I was going to avoid commenting on my thoughts for this kind of stuff, but... fuck it.

Having some kind of Attribute Excellency for Physical Attributes and maybe a halved one for Mental Attributes could make it work. Maybe a Excellency System using committed motes instead of spending them if you wanted to keep them cheap(er)? Would probably need to be comparatively weaker. Or a hybrid maybe, the motes used for the excellency are split so they're half-spent and half-committed.

The Chakra network being some kind of upgradable mutation increasing your mote pool as you train it, have Jutsu have a Handsign keyword and be able to buy the 12 Handsigns as cheap Charms only requiring awakened essence (or a Chakra Network if you're making them separate things).

Interesting, but the thing is, unless there's a mention I've forgotten, Lee doesn't use chakra for strength enhancement. It's pure brute strength. Only thing he uses chakra for is opening the Gates.

Maybe something like a charm equivalent to buy Strength/Stamina/Dexterity boosting internal mutations? With certain bloodlines starting with such a mutation?
