no after the Aizen arc everything was an illusion made by Kyoka Suigetsu, because in fact Aizen actually won and Tite Kubo was just an illusion he created so he could sell the story albeit with an altered ending where Ichigo instead on him won.

Huh....you know how Zan's speaking I think he and the Old Man had worked out a deal of some kind with how they would approach and have Ichigo obtain his powers. But then he died, Old Man is gone and Zangetsu now has to actually be his sword in full which will be interesting....and he's mad that we died to a truck when (at least he believes/knows) we could have gotten his sisters and HIMSELF out of the way but we had to do all that self-sacrifice thing which REALLY pissed him off because-

'The things that you want to protect are not the things that I want to protect'.

What. I can't even - What is "broke it through the future"? Is Aizen a good guy now? Do Ichigo's school buddies go on to lead fulfilling lives in the inevitable epilogue? I have so many questions.

No, he's Godzilla. Things just got that bad for the Gotei 13, to the point that Captain-Commander Kyoraku Shunsui lets him out.

I... think so? He marries Orihime and has a little soul reaper kid with her. Rukia and Renji get together. I think Ishida's a doctor? I don't know what happened to everyone else off the top of my head.

Renji and Ruika also have a child, a little girl. Both spawn are adorable, and Kazui must have the most effed up inner world and population ever.
 
Wait I just had a thought....would Ichigo have Getsuga Tensho anymore without his Quincy powers?

From what was explained in the manga, how it worked is that it took energy him before shooting it from his blade and considering how his sword was more akin to how Quincy created their weapons and not a proper blade...I think he wouldn't have it now that Old Man is gone?

Guys, he's not going to slip up, he's not going to tire. He's qualitatively better than us at this, because he is the part of us that's good at this.

Fighting your own soul never really works out, surprisingly enough.

Like, in the short term it kind of does, but it mostly seems to cause problems later.

Regardless, Ichigo wouldn't exactly impress Zangetsu at this point anyways. Best to just head the fight off and actually talk about things.

(Also, I did kind of get the feeling that thinking about how much he was willing to get himself killed for others wouldn't be the best place to start with Zangetsu.)
